Activated carbon nanofibers(ACNFs)with small diameter can significantly increase the accessibility of intra pores and accelerate adsorption of molecules from *** this study,ACNFs were made by blending K_(2)CO_(3)or ZnCl_(2)as the activating agent into the polyacrylonitrile(PAN)in dimethylformamide solution for electrospinning prior to ***-A(BPA),an endocrine disruption pollutant,is widely applied in the production of polycarbonate plastics and epoxy ***,BPA is often used as a model contaminant commonly removed via *** adsorption studies were used to evaluate the kinetics and adsorption capacity of the ***-Peterson(R-P)and Langmuir models were found to fit the isotherm of BPA adsorption better than Freundlich model,showing the homogeneous nature of the PAN originated *** adsorption kinetics was better described by the pseudo second-order model than that by the pseudo first-order *** fitting by intraparticle diffusion model indicates the adsorption of BPA onto ACNFs is mainly controlled by pore *** pH value and ionic strength reduced BPA adsorption from aqueous *** breakthrough curves studied in two different fixed bed systems(cross flow bed system and packed flow bed system)confirmed the scalability of BPA removal by ACNFs in dynamic adsorption *** modified dose-response model predicted well the fixed-bed outlet concentration profiles.

Acute pancreatitis remains the most common complication of endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography(ERCP).It is reported to occur in 2–10%of unselected patient samples and up to 40%of high-risk *** purpose of this article is to review the evidence behind the known risk factors for post-ERCP pancreatitis,as well as the technical and medical approaches developed to prevent *** have been many advances in identifying the causes of this *** on this knowledge,a variety of preventive strategies have been developed and *** approach to prevention begins with careful patient selection and performing ERCP for specific indications,while considering alternative diagnostic modalities when *** should also be classified by high-risk factors such as young age,female sex,suspected sphincter of Oddi dysfunction,a history of post-ERCP pancreatitis,and normal serum bilirubin,all of which have been identified in numerous research *** pathways of injury that are believed to cause post-ERCP pancreatitis eventually lead to the common endpoint of inflammation,and these individual steps can be targeted for preventive therapies through procedural techniques and medical *** includes the use of a guide wire for cannulation,minimizing the number of cannulation attempts,avoiding contrast injections or trauma to the pancreatic duct,and placement of a temporary pancreatic duct stent in high-risk *** of rectal non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agents(NSAIDs)in high-risk patients is the proven pharmacological measure for prevention of post-ERCP *** evidence for or against numerous other attempted therapies is still unclear,and ongoing investigation is required.

Understanding vertebrate habitat relationships is important to promote management strategies for the longterm conservation of many species. Using a modified drift fence method, we sampled reptiles and compared habitat variables within the William B. Bankhead National Forest （BNF） in Alabama, U.S.A from April 2005 to June 2006. We captured 226 individual reptiles representing 19 species during 564 total trap nights. We used canonical correspondence analysis to examine habitat associations for the reptiles sampled and we detected a distinct habitat gradient ranging from sites with greater litter depth and percent canopy cover to more open sites with greater woody, herbaceous, and coarse woody debris （CWD） coverage, and CWD volume. Little brown skinks Scincella lateralis and eastern worm snakes Carphophis a. arnoenus were associated with sites with greater litter depth and canopy cover, whereas eastern fence lizards Sceloporus undulatus, copperheads Agkistrodon contortrix, and gray ratsnakes Pantherophis spiloides were associated with sites possessing greater CWD coverage and volume. We found that disturbances due to the southern pine beetle Dendroctonus frontalis were likely important for influencing reptile distributions through the creation of canopy gaps and fallen coarse woody debris. Compared to other studies, our modified drift-fence trap technique was successful for sampling larger snake species （66 snakes in 564 trap nights）. We have also provided detailed schematics for constructing drift fence array and box traps used in this study

A diverse range of remarkable boron n itride (BN) nano structures subsumi ng nano-homs, nano-rods, nano-platelets, and clusters of hollow nano spheres (nano-onions, arguably of greatest applied and fun damental in terest) have bee n produced exclusively from crystalline BN precursor powder via lamp ablation. The procedure is safe, devoid of toxic reagents, simple, rapid and scalable—generating some genres of nan oparticles that had previously proved elusive. Product structure and composition were unambiguously assessed by high-resoluti on transmission electron microscopy, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy and electron energy loss spectroscopy.

[1]In this paper we investigate the intra-annual variation in thermosphere neutral density near 400 km using 4 years(2002-2005) of CHAmP *** intra-annual variation,commonly referred to as the "semiannual variation," is characterized by significant latitude structure,hemispheric asymmetries,and interannual *** magnitude of the maximum yearly difference,from the yearly minimum to the yearly maximum,varies by as much as 60%from year to year,and the phases of the minima and maxima also change by 20-40 days from year to *** annual harmonic of the intraannual variation,namely,annual,semiannual,terannual and quatra-annual,exhibits a decreasing trend from 2002 through 2005 that is correlated with the decline in solar *** addition,some variations in these harmonics are correlated with geomagnetic activity,as represented by the daily mean value of *** empirical models of the thermosphere are found to be deficient in capturing most of the latitude dependencies discovered in our *** addition,the solar flux and geomagnetic activity proxies that we have employed do not capture some latitude and interannual variations detected in our *** is possible that these variations are partly due to other effects,such as seasonallatitudinal variations in turbopause altitude(and hence O/N composition) and ionosphere coupling processes that remain to be discovered in the context of influencing the intraannual variations depicted *** results provide a new data set to challenge and validate thermosphere-ionosphere general circulation models that seek to delineate the thermosphere intra-annual variation and to understand the various competing mechanisms that may contribute to its existence and *** furthermore suggest that the term "intra-annual" variation be adopted to describe the variability in thermosphere and ionosphere parameters that is well-captured through a superposition of annual, semiannual,terannual,and quatra-annual

This work demonstrates the effectiveness of a cryogenic torsional pre-straining for significantly improving the cryogenic strength of an equiatomic CrCoNi alloy. The origin of this phenomenon is elucidated by various microstructural characterization tools, which shows that the sequential torsion and tension tests lead to the observed hierarchical microstructure through the activation of different twinning systems and stacking faults. This gives rise to the significant increase in the yield strength from 600 mPa to 1215 mPa,while the fracture strain changes from 68% to 48%. The current study reveals that the incorporation of nanotwins architecture by shear deformation may constitute a viable strategy to tune the mechanical performance and, in particular, to dramatically increase the strength while keeping a good ductility.
