Introduction:Incorporating information on animal behavior in resource-based predictive modeling(e.g.,occurrence mapping)can elucidate the relationship between process and spatial pattern and depict habitat in terms of its structure as well as its *** this paper,we assigned location data on brood-rearing greater sage-grouse(Centrocercus urophasianus)to either within-patch(encamped)or between-patch(traveling)behavioral modes by estimating a movement-based relative displacement *** were to estimate and validate spatially explicit models of within-versus between-patch resource selection for application in habitat management and compare these models to a non-behaviorally adjusted ***:A single model,the vegetation and water resources model,was most plausible for both the encamped and traveling modes,including the non-behaviorally adjusted *** encamped,sage-grouse selected for taller shrubs,avoided bare ground,and were closer to mesic *** sage-grouse selected for greater litter cover and herbaceous *** for proximity to mesic areas was common to both encamped and traveling modes and to the non-behaviorally adjusted *** non-behaviorally adjusted map was similar to the encamped model and validated ***,we observed different selection patterns during traveling that could have been masked had behavioral state not been accounted ***:Characterizing habitat that structured between-patch movement broadens our understanding of the habitat needs of brood-rearing sage-grouse,and the combined raster surface offers a reliable habitat management tool that is readily amenable to application by GIS users in efforts to focus sustainable landscape management.

Taxonomy and phylogeny of operculate discomycetes: Pezizomycetes

The class Pezizomycetes is monophyletic within the subdivision Pezizomycotina. The main distinguishing character of thisclass is operculate asci, although in some taxa this character has been lost. The circumscription of the families and genericlevel delimitation in Pezizomycetes is still controversial, although several molecular phylogenetic studies have beenpublished on this group. This paper reviews 21 families of Pezizomycetes including five new families, which are introduced here, viz. Kallistoskyphaceae, Pseudombrophilaceae, Pulvinulaceae, Strobiloscyphaceae and Tarzettaceae. Moreover, this study provides a modified backbone tree based on phylogenetic analysis of five combined loci. Descriptions andillustrations of representative taxa for the families are provided from collections made in China, Thailand and the UK,herbarium material from international herbaria (FH, FLAS, H, HKAS and MA) and the literature. Pezizales separates intosix major clades. Clade 1 of Pezizales includes the families Ascobolaceae and Pezizaceae. Clade 2 is the new familyKallistoskyphaceae. Clade 3 comprises the families Caloscyphaceae, Karstenellaceae and Rhizinaceae. Clade 4 representsthe families Discinaceae, Helvellaceae, Morchellaceae, Tuberaceae and Underwoodia columnaris lineage. Clade 5includes Chorioactidaceae, Sarcoscyphaceae and Sarcosomataceae and Clade 6 comprises Ascodesmidaceae, Glaziellaceae, Otideaceae, Pseudombrophilaceae, Pulvinulaceae, Pyronemataceae, Strobiloscyphaceae and Tarzettaceae. Newsequence data belonging to ITS, LSU, SSU, TEF, RPb2 gene regions from 40 pezizalian species are provided here. Thepaper provides a working document for apothecial Pezizomycetes which can be modified as new data comes to light. It ishoped that by illustrating taxa we provide stimulation and interest in the operculate discomycetes, so that further research iscarried out on this remarkable, but poorly studied group of fungi.

This study was an attempt made to explore the possibility of increasing the surface properties of the AZ91D magnesium alloy by applying ZrO_(2)coating using Physical Vapour Deposition(PVD-RF)sputtering *** order to improve the quality of the coating,the PVD process parameter with multiple performance characteristics was optimized by using the Taguchi grey approach.L 18 orthogonal array was selected for conducting the *** proposed Taguchi grey method was find out the optimal process parameter for multiple performance *** optimal combination was attained at chamber pressure of 0.003 bar,argon gas in millibar and power input of 200 *** validation experiment result shows an improvement in the micro hardness and surface ***,the performance characterizations such as SEM,EDX,XRD,coating thickness,surface roughness and micro hardness were measured at optimal process parameter.

Molecular characterization of basidiomycetes associated with the decayed mangrove tree Xylocarpus granatum in Thailand

This study reports the frequency of decay(stem/butt rot)of Xylocarpus granatum trees at Hat Khanom-Mu Ko Thale Tai National Park,Nakhonsithammarat province,and other locations in Thailand,and the identification of purported causal basidiomycetes based on morphological and molecular *** survey plots at Hat KhanomMu Ko Thale Tai National Park were established and the incidence of butt rot *** stem/butt rot incidence of *** trees varied from 40.9 to 94.4%with an average of 85.5%along all four *** in Plot 2 supported the heaviest incidence rate(94.4%),with the lowest rate in Plot 3(40.9%).Ninety-two basidiomes were collected,and 46 fungal strains(50%)isolated into axenic culture,the majority associated with tree roots(68.5%of all collections)with 31.5%from the tree *** results,based on LSU and ITS1,2,5.8 S rDNA analyses,confirmed that all samples belonged to the poroid genus Fulvifomes in the Hymenochaetaceae within the Hymenochaetales,*** 43 specimens sequenced grouped into three clades;one clade comprised specimens isolated from only the trunks and branches(14 strains),while the remainders were from roots(29 strains)and shown to be salt *** stem/butt rot strains formed unique phylotypes which did not group with other known Fulvifomes species.

Singular perturbation analysis of dynamic fields in a thermoelastic solid with a small surface-breaking crack

An asymptotic analysis is presented for a dynamic problem of a semi-infinite isotropic thermoelastic solid with a small surface breaking crack. The exterior surface of the solid is subjected to a series of short thermal pulses. The crack surface is traction free and an ideal thermal contact is assumed across the crack. The stress intensity factor is asymptotically evaluated as a function of the crack depth and time. The effect of a boundary layer associated with the diffusive term is identified. The theoretical model is supplied with numerical simulations.

Electromagnetic induction mapping at varied soil moisture reveals field-scale soil textural patterns and gravel lenses

Knowledge of the spatial distribution of soil textural properties is important for determining soil moisture storage and soil hydraulic transport *** field heterogeneity without exhaustive sampling and costly sample analysis is difficult. Our objective was to employ electromagnetic induction(EMI) mapping in low apparent electrical conductivity(EC_a) soils at varying soil water contents to capture time invariant properties such as soil texture. Georeferenced EC_ameasurements were taken using a ground conductivity meter on six different days where volumetric water content(θ_v) varied from 0.11 to 0.23. The 50 m × 50 m field included a subsurface gravelly patch in an otherwise homogeneous silt-loam alluvial *** block kriging predicted EC_aat unsampled areas to produce 1-m resolution maps. Temporal stability analysis was used to divide the field into three distinct EC_a regions. Subsequent ground-truthing confirmed the lowest conductivity region correlated with coarse textured soil parent materials associated with a former high-energy alluvial depositional area. Combining maps using temporal stability analysis gives the clearest image of the textural difference. These maps could be informative for modeling,experimental design, sensor placement and targeted zone management strategies in soil science, ecology, hydrology,and agricultural applications.

The profile equations of geometric optics are described in a form invariant under the natural transformations of first order systems of partial differential equations. This allows us to prove that various strategies for computing profile equations are equivalent. We prove that if L generates an evolution on L2 the same is true of the profile equations. We prove that the characteristic polynomial of the profile equations is the localization of the characteristic polynomial of the background operator at （y, dφ（y）） where φ is the background phase. We prove that the propagation cones of the profile equations are subsets of the propagation cones of the background operator.

Perspectives for the recovery of rare earths from end-of-life fluorescent lamps

This vision paper discusses the advantages and disadvantages of the three main options for the recycling of rare-earth ele- ments from end-of-life fluorescent lamps：（1） direct re-use of the lamp phosphor mixture; （2） separation of the lamp phosphor mixture into the different phosphor components; （3） recovery of the rare-earth content. An overview is given of commercial activities in Europe in the domain of recycling of materials from end-of-life fluorescent lamps and the recovery of rare earths from these lamps. The collection of end-of-life fluorescent lamps is currently driven by a legal framework that prohibited the release of mercury to the environment. The contaminations of the lamp phosphor powders by mercury and by small glass particles of crushed fluorescent lamps are limiting factors in the recycling process. Research should be directed to an advanced clean-up of the reclaimed lamp phosphor fraction, and in particular to the removal of mercury and glass fragments. The recovery of rare earths from the lamp phosphors could be facilitated by taking advantage of the differences in resistance of the different lamp phosphors by chemical attack by inorganic ac- ids and bases.

AIM： To investigate the expression of cyclooxygenase-2 （COX-2） and epithelial growth factor receptor （EGFR） throughout the progression of barrett＇s esophagus （bE）. METHODS： COX-2 and EGFR protein expressions were detected by using immunohistochemical method. A detailed cytomorphological changes were determined. Areas of COX-2 and EGFR expression were quantified by using computer Imaging System. RESULTS： The expressions of both COX-2 and EGFR increased along with the progression from bE to esophagus adenocarcinoma （EAC）. A positive correlation was found between COX-2 expression and EGFR expression. CONCLUSION： COX-2 and EGFR may be cooperative in the stepwise progression from bE to EAC, thereby leading to carcinogenesis.

Affect and prefrontal hemodynamics during exercise under immersive audiovisual stimulation:Improving the experience of exercise for overweight adults

Objective:Research on methods of improving the affective experience of exercise remains limited,especially for low-active overweight *** investigated the effectiveness of a virtual-reality headset and headphones in improving affective responses over conventionally delivered audiovisual ***:Low-active,overweight adults(16 women,5 men;age:34.67±9.62 years;body mass index:28.56±4.95 kg/m^2;peak oxygen uptake for men:29.14±6.56 mL/kg/min,for women:22.67±4.52 mL/kg/min,mean±SD)completed 15-min sessions of recumbent cycling at the ventilatory threshold:(a)high immersion(HI,virtual reality headset and headphones),(b)low immersion(LI,television screen and speakers),and(c)***-exercise pleasure and post-exercise enj oyment were *** of the right dorsolateral pre frontal cortex(dIPFC)was assessed with near infrared ***:Higher pleasure was reported during HI than during LI and Control(Condition×Time interaction;pbut this difference diminished during LI and HI(Condition×Time×Preference interaction;p=0.036,ηp^2=0.10).Conclusion:Compared with conventionally delivered audiovisual stimulation,using a virtual-reality headset strengthens the dissociative effect,further improving affective responses to exercise at the ventilatory threshold among overweight,low-active *** by competing with interoceptive afferents at the level of sensory input,audiovisual stimulation may lessen reliance on cognitive efforts to attenuate declining affect,as indicated by lower right dIPFC activity,particularly among participants disinclined toward high exercise intensity.
