Recently,user recognitionmethods to authenticate personal identity has attracted significant attention especially with increased availability of various internet of things(IoT)services through fifth-generation technology(5G)based mobile *** EMG signals generated inside the body with unique individual characteristics are being studied as a part of nextgeneration user recognition ***,there is a limitation when applying EMG signals to user recognition systems as the same operation needs to be repeated while maintaining a constant strength of muscle over ***,it is necessary to conduct research on multidimensional feature transformation that includes changes in frequency features over *** this paper,we propose a user recognition system that applies EMG signals to the short-time fourier transform(STFT),and converts the signals into EMG spectrogram images while adjusting the time-frequency resolution to extract multidimensional *** proposed system is composed of a data pre-processing and normalization process,spectrogram image conversion process,and final classification *** experimental results revealed that the proposed EMG spectrogram image-based user recognition system has a 95.4%accuracy performance,which is 13%higher than the EMGsignal-based *** a user recognition accuracy improvement was achieved by using multidimensional features,in the time-frequency domain.

Whole-genome shogun sequence(WGS)data generated by next-generation sequencing(NGS)platforms are a valuable resource for crop *** produced 5–6×WGS coverage of 44 Brassica oleracea breeding lines representing seven subspecies/morphotypes:cabbage,broccoli,cauliflower,kailan,kale,Brussels sprout,and kohlrabi to systematically evaluate the nuclear and chloroplast(Cp)diversity in the 44 *** breeding *** then exploited the impact of low-coverage NGS by evaluating nuclear genome diversity and assembly,annotation of complete chloroplast(Cp)genomes and 45 S nuclear ribosomal DNA(45S nrDNA)sequences,and copy number variation for major *** genome diversity analysis has revealed a total of 496463 SNPs and 37493 indels in the nuclear genome across the 44 ***,some SNPs showed subspecies enrichment at certain chromosomal *** assembly of complete Cp genomes contained 153361–153372 bp with 37 variants including SNPs and *** 45S nrDNA transcription unit was 5802 bp long with a total of 31 SNPs from the 44 *** phylogenetic tree inferred from the nuclear and Cp genomes coincided and clustered broccoli,cauliflower,and kailan in one group and cabbage,Brussels sprout,kale,and kohlrabi in another *** morphotypes diverged during the last 0.17 million *** Cp genome diversity reflected the unique cytoplasm of each subspecies,and revealed that the cytoplasm of many breeding lines was replaced and intermingled via inter-subspecies crosses during the breeding process *** polymorphic Cp markers provide a classification system for the cytoplasm types in ***,copy numbers of major transposable elements(TEs)showed high diversity among the 44 accessions,indicating that many TEs have become active ***,we demonstrated a comprehensive utilization of low-coverage NGS data and might shed light on the genetic diversity and evolution of diverse *** morphotypes.

BACKGROUND: The frequency of isolated biliary candidiasis is increasing in cancer patients. The clinical signiifcance of isolated biliary candidiasis remains unclear. We analyzed the risk factors of biliary candidiasis and outcomes of the patients with unresectable cholangiocarcinoma after percutaneous transhepatic biliary drainage (PTBD). METhoDS: Among 430 patients who underwent PTBD between January 2012 and March 2015, 121 patients had unresectable cholangiocarcinoma. Bile and blood samples were collected for consecutive fungal culture. RESULTS: The study cohort included 49 women and 72 men with a median age of 71 years. Multivariate analysis showed that cancer progression (P=0.013), concurrent presence of another microorganism (P=0.010), and previous long-term (>7 days) antibiotic use (P=0.011) were potential risk factors of biliary candidiasis. Chemotherapy was not associated with overall biliary candidiasis (P=0.196), but was signiifcantly related to repeated biliary candidiasis (P=0.011). Patients with isolated biliary candidiasis showed remarkably reduced survival compared with those without (median overall sur-vival (OS): 32 vs 62 days,P=0.011)Subgroup analysis was also performed. Patients with repeated candidiasis had markedly decreased survival compared with those with transient candi-diasis (median OS: 30 vs 49 days,P=0.046). Biliary candidiasis was identiifed as a poor prognostic factor by univariate and multivariate analyses (P=0.033). Four cases of repeated can-didiasis (4/19, 21%) showedCandida species in consecutive blood culture until the end of the study, but others showed no candidemia. CONCLUSIONS: Isolated biliary candidiasis may be associ-ated with poor prognosis in patients with unresectable chol-angiocarcinoma. Especially, repeated biliary candidiasis may have the possibility of progression to candidemia. We suggest that biliary dilatation treatment or antifungal agents might be helpful for patients with biliary candidiasis.

A standard skill assessment （SA） tool was developed and implemented to evaluate the performance of op- erational forecast models in the Korea operational oceanographic system. The SA tool provided a robust way to assess model skill in the system by comparing predictions and observations, and involved the com- putation of multiple skill metrics including correlation and error skills. User- and system-based acceptance criteria of skill metrics were applied to determine whether predictions were acceptable for the system. To achieve this, the tool produced a time series comparison plot, a skill score table, and an advanced sum- marized diagram to effectively demonstrate the multiple skill scores. Moreover, the SA was conducted to evaluate both atmospheric and hydrodynamic forecast variables. For the atmospheric variables, acceptable error criteria were preferable to acceptable correlation criteria over short timescales, since the mean square error overwhelmed the observation variance. Conversely, for the hydrodynamic variables, acceptable root mean square percentage error （e.g., perms） criteria were preferable to acceptable error （e.g., erms） criteria owing to the spatially variable tidal intensity around the Korean Peninsula. Furthermore, the SA indicated that predetermined acceptance error criteria were appropriate to satisfy a target central frequency （fc） for which errors fell within the specified limits （i.e., the .fc equals 70%）.

Acupuncture has been broadly used as a major therapeutic tool for at least 2,100 years in East Asia. Acupuncture is used for improving the pathological condition of remote organs, such as stomach, liver, brain, etc. by stimulating skin and muscle with fine metal needles through meridians which have been regarded as pathways of Qi within the body （Ernst, 2006）. Physicians in East Asia have tried to treat many kinds of diseases by acupuncture and it was considerably success- ful. Various diseases for which acupuncture is known to be effective, are neurological diseases, including sequelae of stroke, Alzheimer＇s disease （AD）, Parkinson＇s disease （PD）, and so on （Nam et al., 2013）.

AIM: To identify risk factors for nonalcoholic steatohepatitis following pancreaticoduodenectomy, with a focus on factors related to pancreatic secretions. METhoDS: The medical records of 228 patients who had a pancreaticoduodenectomy over a 16-mo period were reviewed retrospectively. The 193 patients who did not have fatty liver disease preoperatively were included in the final analysis. Hepatic steatosis was diagnosed using the differences between splenic and hepatic attenuation and liver-to-spleen attenuation as measured by non-enhanced computed tomography. RESULTS: Fifteen patients (7.8%) who showed postoperative hepatic fatty changes were assigned to Group A, and the remaining patients were assigned to Group B. Patient demographics, preoperative laboratory findings (including levels of C-peptide, glucagon, insulin and glucose tolerance test results), operation types, and final pathological findings did not differ significantly between the two groups; however, the frequency of pancreatic fistula (P = 0.020) and the method of pancreatic duct stenting (P = 0.005) showed significant differences between the groups. A multivari- ate analysis identified pancreatic fistula (HR = 3.332, P = 0.037) and external pancreatic duct stenting (HR = 4.530, P = 0.017) as independent risk factors for the development of postoperative steatohepatitis. CONCLUSION: Pancreatic fistula and external pancreatic duct stenting were identified as independent risk factors for the development of steatohepatitis following pancreaticoduodenectomy.

Comparison of postoperative corneal changes between dry eye and non-dry eye in a murine cataract surgery model

AIM： To compare the effects of the surgical insult of cataract surgery on corneal inflammatory infiltration, neovascularization （NV） and lymphangiogenesis （LY） between the dry eye and non-dry eye in murine cataract surgery models.METhoDS： We established two groups of animals, one with normal eyes （non-dry eye） and the second with induced dry eyes. In both groups, we used surgical insults to mimic human cataract surgery, which consisted of lens extraction, corneal incision and suture. After harvesting of corneas on the 9th postoperative day and immunohistochemical staining, we compared NV, LY and CD11b＋ cell infiltration in the corneas.RESULTS： Dry eye group had significantly more inflammatory infiltration （21.75%±7.17% r/s 3.65%±1.49%; P=0.049）. The dry eye group showed significantly more NV （48.21% ±4.02% ys 26.24% ±6.01% ; P =0.016） and greater levels of LY （9.27%±0.48% ys 4.84%±1.15%; P= 0.007）. In corneas on which no surgery was performed, there was no induction of NV in both the dry and non- dry group, but dry eye group demonstrated more CD11b＋ cells infiltration than the non-dry eye group （0.360%± 0.160% vs 0.023%±0.006%; P=0.068）. Dry eye group showed more NV than non-dry eye group in both topical PBS application and subconjunctival PBS injection （P= 0.020 and 0.000, respectively）.

AIM To evaluate the clinical advantages of single-port laparoscopic hepatectomy(SPLH) compare to multiport laparoscopic hepatectomy(MPLH).METhoDS We retrospectively reviewed the medical records of 246 patients who underwent laparoscopic liver resection between January 2008 and December 2015 at our hospital. We divided the surgical technique into two groups; SPLH and MPLH. We performed laparoscopic liver resection for both benign and malignant disease. Major hepatectomy such as right and left hepatectomy was also done with sufficient disease-free margin. The operative time, the volume of blood loss, transfusion rate, and the conversion rate to MPLH or open surgery was evaluated. The post-operative parameters included the meal start date after operation, the number of postoperative days spent in the hospital, and surgical complications was also *** Of the 246 patients, 155 patients underwent SPLH and 91 patients underwent MPLH. Conversion rate was 22.6% in SPLH and 19.8% in MPLH(P = 0.358). We performed major hepatectomy, which was defined as resection of more than 2 sections, in 13.5% of patients in the SPLH group and in 13.3% of patients in the MPLH group(P = 0.962). Mean operative timewas 136.9 ± 89.2 min in the SPLH group and 231.2 ± 149.7 min in the MPLH group(P how a significant difference(0.84 ± 0.84 cm in SPLH vs 1.04 ± 1.22 cm in MPLH, P = 0.704). Enteral feeding was started earlier in the SPLH group(1.06 ± 0.27 d after operation) than in the MPLH group(1.63 ± 1.27 d)(P hospital stay after operation was non-significantly shorter in the SPLH group than in the MPLH group(7.82 ± 2.79 d vs 7.97 ± 3.69 d, P = 0.744). The complication rate was not significantly different(P = 0.397) and there was no major perioperative complication or mortality case in both groups. CONCLUS
