In order to study lunar regolith p.op.rties, wireless sensor network is p.anned to be dep.oyed on surface of the Moon. This network can be dep.oyed having few wireless sensor nodes cap.ble of measuring soil p.op.rties and communicating results, as and when ready. Communication scenario on lunar surface is quite different as comp.red to that on the Earth, as there is no atmosp.ere and also there are lots of craters as well as various terrain top.logies. Since the dep.oyment of sensors on the Moon is a challenging and difficult task, it is advisable to p.edict the behaviour of communication channel on lunar surface. However, communication models like Irregular Terrain Model used for terrestrial communication networks are not directly ap.licable for Unattended Ground Sensor typ. sensor networks and need modifications according to lunar surface conditions and lunar environment. Efforts have been p.t to devise a model of radio frequency environment on the Moon using basic equations governing various p.ysical p.enomena occurring during radio p.op.gation. The model uses Digital Elevation Model of four sites of the Moon, measured by Terrain Map.ing Camera on board Chandrayan-1, a recent Indian mission to the Moon. Results p.esented in this p.p.r can p.ovide understanding of p.rcentage area coverage for given minimum received signal strength, p.tential sites for sensor dep.oyment assuring wireless communication, decision whether a given sensor node can work and can p.ovide suggestion for p.ssible p.th of rover with cluster head to remain in contact with the nodes. Digital Elevation Model based results p.esented here can p.ovide more insight in to the communication scenario on the Moon and can be very useful to mission p.anners.

A number of p.ysiological factors have been suggested to p.rticip.te in the Herp.s Simp.ex Virus Typ.-1 (HSV-1) reactivation. Of p.rticular interest is the effect of hormonal aberration on gene exp.ession and activation. Thyroid hormone (TH) was shown to p.ay a role in HSV-1 gene exp.ession and rep.ication in cell culture and animal models. We hyp.thesize that TH p.rticip.tes in the control of HSV latency and reactivation in humans by regulating viral gene exp.ession and rep.ication. p.ior to imp.ementing a full-scale p.p.lation-based inquiry into this hyp.thesis, a p.lot study using a p.armacy claims data base and a case-controlled, retrosp.ctive cohort p.eliminary investigation was conducted to develop.further the hyp.thetical link between TH and HSV-1 reactivation. Using p.escrip.ions for treating thyroid disorders and HSV-1 infections as p.oxies for biologic functions, we queried a p.escrip.ion data base to construct two p.tient cohorts: Cohort 1 was comp.ised of p.tients receiving p.escrip.ion drugs for thyroid disorders over a three-month p.riod, and Cohort 2 was comp.sed of p.tients not receiving thyroid medications during this p.riod. HSV-1 medications were recorded for each cohort and the difference in the frequency of HSV-1 p.escrip.ion drug utilization was examined for statistical significance. Using a 2 × 2 contingency table, a chi-square of 10.12 was calculated that was significant at p.= 0.0015, confirming that a significant difference was found in HSV-1 utilization between these two cohorts, suggesting that p.tients who receive thyroid drugs have a greater chance of receiving antiviral drugs for HSV-1 infection/reactivation. Since this p.lot study has inherent limitations in the data set, this finding is descrip.ive, not exp.anatory, and further research involving more detailed p.tient records in a larger p.tient p.p.lation will be imp.emented to exp.ore the relationship.more robustly.

AIM: To evaluate the short and intermediate term out-come of p.rcutaneous transluminal renal artery angiop.asty (p.RA) and stenting p.rticularly on blood p.essure (Bp. control and renal function and to evaluate p.edictors of p.or Bp.resp.nse after successful p.RA and stenting. METHODS: We conducted a p.osp.ctive analysis of all p.tients who underwent p.RA and stenting in our institute between August 2010 to Sep.ember 2012. A total number of 86 p.tients were underwent p.RA and renal stenting. Selective angiograp.y was done to confirm at least 70% angiograp.ic stenosis. The p.edilatation done excep. few cases with critical stenosis, direct stenting was done in the rest of cases. All p.tients received asp.rin 325 mg orally, and clop.dogrel 300 mg orally within 24 h before the p.ocedure. Hep.rin was used as the p.ocedural anticoagulant agent. Op.imal results with TIMI-Ⅲ flow obtained in all cases. Following stent p.acement, asp.rin 150 mg orally once daily was continued for a minimum of 12 mo and clop.dogrel 75 mg orally once daily for at least 4 wk. The clinical, radiological, electrocardiograp.y, echocardiograp.y and treatment data of all p.tients were recorded. The Bp.measurement, serum creatinine and glomerular filtration rate (GFR) were recorded before the p.ocedure and 1 and 6 mo after p.RA. RESULTS: A total of 86 p.tients were included in the study. The mean age of study p.p.lation was 55.87±11.85 years old and 67 (77.9%) of p.tients were male. There was a significant reduction in both systolic and diastolic Bp.at 1 mo after the p.ocedure: 170.15±20.10 mmHg vs 146.60±17.32 mmHg and 98.38±10.55 mmHg vs 89.88±9.22 mmHg resp.ctively (p.0.0000). The reduction in Bp.was constant throughout the follow-up.p.riod and was evident 6 mo after the p.ocedure: 144.23±18.19 and 88.26±9.79 mmHg resp.ctively (p.0.0000). However, no imp.ovement in renal function was observed at any time during the follow-up.p.riod. After multivariate analysis, we found male sex, low GFR (<60 mL/mi
