该文考虑集成电路制造过程中传输线制造工艺参数随机扰动对传输线传输性能的影响,建立了传输线的随机模型,针对该模型提出了基于蒙特卡洛法的传输线瞬态响应统计分析方法。统计分析中采用精细积分算法求解传输线样本瞬态响应,并对模型输出的正态性进行偏度-峰度检验,给出了最差情况估计。试验结果表明该文提出的传输线随机模型及统计分析方法可以对传输线的传输性能进行有效的评估,对于传输线制造过程的控制及优化有着重要意义。

Tight focusing properties of an azimuthally polarized Gaussian beam with a pair of vortices through a dielectric interface is theoretically investigated by vector diffraction theory. For the incident beam with a pair of vortices of opposite topological charges, the vortices move toward each other, annihilate and revive in the vicinity of focal plane, which results in the generation of many novel focal patterns. The usable focal structures generated through the tight focusing of the double-vortex beams may find applications in micro-particle trapping, manipulation, and material processing, etc.

Telerobotic surgery is the most advanced development in the field of minimally invasive surgery. The da Vinci surgical system, which is currently the most widely used telerobotic device, was approved by the Food and Drug Administration of the United States of America for clinical use in all abdominal operations in July 2000. The first da Vinci surgical system in China was installed in November 2005 at our institution. We herein report the first telerobotic-assisted laparoscopic abdominoperineal resection using the 3-arm da Vinci surgical system for low rectal cancer in Hong Kong and China, which was performed in August 2006. The operative time and blood loss were 240 min and 200 mL, respectively. There was no complication, and the patient was discharged on postoperative day five. An updated review of published literature on telerobotic-assisted colorectal surgery is included in this report, with special emphasis on its advantages and limitations.

Ectopic cervical thymic cysts are uncommon lesions and definitive preoperative diagnosis is not always possible. Surgical excision is recommended due to the small but possible chance of malignant degeneration in adulthood. We present a case of a nine year old boy with an asymptomatic lesion in his neck, discuss the differential diagnoses of such lesions and treatment considerations.

Rainfall over Rwanda is highly variable both in space and time. This variability leads to chronic food insecurity due to the overdependence of the economy on rain-fed agriculture systems. This study aims to evaluate the skills of Rossby Centre Regional Climate Model (RCA4) simulations driven by 10 GCMs for the period 1951-2005 using the Global Precipitation Climatology Centre (GPCC v8) as a reference. Different statistical and geospatial metrics were used to deduce the model’s skills in simulating seasonal and annual rainfall. Results show that the country received bimodal rainfall pattern;March-May (MAM) and September-December (SOND). The RCA4 models are inconsistent in simulating the MAM rainy peak. However, the models are coherent in simulating SOND seasonal peak despite exhibiting wet bias. The models show reasonable skills in simulating mean annual cycle than interannual variability as depicted by insignificant correlation and different signs of rainfall trend. Conclusively, the performance of RCA4 models in simulating observed rainfall characteristics over Rwanda is relatively weak. The performance of the models differs at various time scales. Nevertheless, the models can be ranked from the best performing to the least as;CSIRO, CanESM2, CNRM, GFDL, MIROC5, ENS, EC-Earth, HadGEM2, IPSL, MPI, and NorESM1. Ranking the performance of RCA4 historical models acts as a basis for future climate model’s selection depending on the purpose of the study. The findings of this study may help in devising appropriate climate adaptation measures to respond to the ongoing global warming for sustainable economic and livelihood development. Additionally, modelers may improve the model’s parametrization schemes and lessen the inherent chronic biases for a better presentation of the future.

Previously, we established a model in which physiologically adequate function of the autologous β cells was recovered in non-obese diabetic （NOD） mice after the onset of hyperglycemia by rendering them hemopoietic chimera. These mice were termed antea-diabetic. In the current study, we addressed the role of T regulatory （Treg） cells in the mechanisms mediating the restoration of euglycemia in the antea-diabetic NOD model. The data generated in this study demonstrated that the numbers of Treg cells were decreased in unmanipulated NOD mice, with the most profound deficiency detected in the pancreatic lymph nodes （PLNs）. The impaired retention of the Treg cells in the PLNs correlated with the locally compromised profile of the chemokines involved in their trafficking, with the most prominent decrease observed in SDF-1. The amelioration of autoimmunity and restoration of euglycemia observed in the antea-diabetic mice was associated with restoration of the Treg cell population in the PLNs. These data indicate that the function of the SDF-1/CXCR4 axis and the retention of Treg cells in the PLNs have a potential role in diabetogenesis and in the amelioration of autoimmunity and β cell regeneration in the antea-diabetic model. We have demonstrated in the antea-diabetic mouse model that lifelong recovery of the β cells has a strong correlation with normalization of the Treg cell population in the PLNs. This finding offers new opportunities for testing the immunomodulatory regimens that promote accumulation of Treg cells in the PLNs as a therapeutic approach for type 1 diabetes （TID）.

Set of integers, Zn is split into even-odd parts. The even part is arranged in ways, while the odd part fixes one point at a time to compliment the even part thereby forming the semigroup, AZn. Thus, -spaces are filled choosing maximum of two even points at a time. Green’s relations have formed important structures that enhance the algebraic study of transformation semigroups. The semigroup of Alternating Nonnegative Integers for n-even (AZn-even) is shown to have only two D-classes, and there are -classes for n≥4. The cardinality of L-classes is constant. Certain cardinalities and some other properties were derived. The coefficients of the zigzag triples obtained are 1, and . The second and third coefficients can be obtained by zigzag addition.

Sebaceous carcinoma (SC) of the eyelid is a rare but aggressive malignancy, accounting for 3%—5% of eyelid malignancies in the United States, and up to 35% in Asian populations (Deprez and Uffer, 2009;Xu et al., 2018;Yu et al., 2018). It is frequently mistaken for benign conditions or less aggressive malignancies such as basal cell carcinoma (Muqit et al., 2013), and the effects of delay in diagnosis can be devastating to patients. Aggressive surgical resection is the primary treatment of these tumors and often invoIves orbital exenteration with significant morbidity to patients, and these tumors frequently recur, with local recurrence rate as high as 18%. Importantly, this disease has a high metastatic potential, and there are very limited data guiding systemic treatment options;ultimately 6%—18% of patients diagnosed with SC of the eyelid succumb to metastatic disease (Zurcher et al., 1998;Shields et al., 2004).

Heart failure （HF） is a potentially fatal disease that affects increasing number of people worldwide. Although heart transplant is the ＂gold standard＂ therapy for HF, due to the limited availability of organs, many patients died when waiting for the transplant. Left ventricular assist device （LVAD）, as a mechanical circulatory support, has become a new light for patients with HF. With the technical advancements, LVADs work not only as a bridge to transplant, but also assist heart recovery and even as a destination therapy in long-term treatment. This observation paper reviewed the development of LVAD and its clinical roles. The challenges and possible solutions in nursing care for pa- tients with LVAD at different stage of implantation were discussed. The healthcare professionals could obtain a better understanding about the LVAD treatment for HF patients.
