The use of diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid(DTPA)chelating agent has shown promising results for enhanced oil recovery(EOR)in prior *** mechanisms,mainly resulting from rock-fluid interaction,have been proposed for chelating agent flooding;however,little attention has been paid to fluid-fluid interaction thus *** assessment of these mechanisms has primarily relied on macroscopic techniques such as core *** paper aims to investigate the injection of DTPA brine and its dominant mechanisms at the pore scale using a clay-coated *** micromodel tests were performed under oil-wet and water-wet *** a more precise examination of fluid/fluid interactions,the dynamic interfacial tension(IFT)and Zeta potential were *** was observed that the injection of DTPA brine in water-wet state changed the saturation distribution and increased oil *** on visual inspections,this change in saturation distribution could potentially be linked to the formation of micro-dispersions and viscoelastic interfacial ***-dispersions facilitate flow to unswept areas,and viscoelastic interface formation reshapes the interface between oil and brine,causing disconnected oil droplets to coalesce and thus increase *** the oil-wet state,the micro-dispersion formation and wettability alteration can be the dominant mechanisms,and the amount of recovered oil was higher than that observed in the water-wet ***,Zeta potential measurements at the interface between brine and oil showed a more negative value for DTPA brine,which is effective in wettability alteration and micro-dispersions *** results indicate that IFT reduction was not significant enough to be considered the dominant mechanism,although it assists in DTPA brine penetration into the crude oil and subsequent micro-dispersion formation.

采用机械涂层技术在Ti-6Al-4V基体表面沉积HA/Ti复合涂层与功能梯度涂层(FGC),对涂层进行表征,对比其磨损行为和生物相容性。制备复合涂层所用初始粉末为50%Ti(质量分数)和50%HA(质量分数)的混合粉末,而FGC分为两层,分别为75%Ti+25%HA和25%Ti+75%HA(质量分数)。XRD结果表明在沉积过程中没有发生相变。此外,由于原始混合粉末中存在Ti颗粒,在涂层和基体之间形成了结合良好的连续界面,特别是在功能梯度涂层样品中。磨损实验结果显示,非梯度复合涂层的摩擦因数约为0.37,在界面处发生突变,而功能梯度涂层的摩擦因数从0.32增加到0.5,在界面处发生平缓变化。磨损表面的SEM像表明涂层的主要磨损机制为磨粒磨损。生物相容性评价结果显示,FGC样品具有更好的细胞黏附和增殖能力。

Bark biomass as an energy source has a high economic *** content variations and production helps recognize the potential of this bioenergy source spatially before *** percentage of fresh and dry bark in Populus deltoides grown under a monoculture system was examined in the temperate region of northern *** at breast height(DBH)and total height data were analyzed based on an initial *** sample trees were felled,separated into 2 m-segments,and weighted in the field.A 5-cm-thick disc from each segment was extracted for determining fresh and dry bark *** were statistically significantly different in disc diameter classes and decreased with increasing disc *** percentage of the disc classes ranged from 21.8 to 24.4%in small-sized diameters to 8.1-9.3%in large-sized *** differences between fresh and dry bark percentages depended on water content *** power equations were fitted to data of fresh and dry bark percentages and disc diameters as well as *** values of R~2 ranged from 0.89 to *** addition,allometric power equations provided the best fits for relationships between total stem dry biomass,dry bark biomass,and DBH,R~2=0.986 and 0.979 for the total stem dry biomass and stem dry bark biomass,*** allometric models can be used to estimate bark percentage and bark production of *** in segments and for the whole stem for a wide range of segment diameters(8-44 cm)and DBH(15-45 cm).

Replantation of degraded forest using rapidgrowth trees can play a significant role in global carbon budget by storing large quantities of carbon in live biomass,forest floor,and soil organic *** assessed the potential of 20-year old stands of three rapid-growth tree species,including Alnus subcordata,Populus deltoides and Taxodium distichum,for carbon(C) storage at ecosystem *** September 2013,48 replicate plots(16 m × 16 m) in 8 stands of three plantations were established.36 trees were felled down and fresh biomass of different components was weighed in the *** equations were fitted using data based on the 36 felled *** biomass of understory vegetation and litter were measured by harvesting all the *** C fraction of understory,litter,and soil were *** ecosystem C storage was as follows: ***(626.5 Mg ha) [ ***(542.9Mg ha) [ ***(486.8 Mg ha)(P \ 0.001),of which78.1–87.4% was in the *** plantation reached the highest tree biomass(206.6 Mg ha),followed by ***(134.5 Mg ha) and ***(123.3 Mg ha).The highest soil C was stored in theplantation of ***(555.5 Mg ha).The C storage and sequestration of the plantations after 20 years were considerable(25–30 Mg hayear) and broadleaves species had higher *** species had a higher soil C storage while the potential of introduced species for live biomass production was higher.

The application of the non-explosive expansion material （NEEM） is widely used as the controlled fracture method in quarry min- ing, especially in hard rocks. The pressure of NEEM is an important parameter in causing rock fracture. An empirical model based on hole spacing was developed to determine the pressure of NEEM in the rock fracture process. Primarily, the empirical model was developed by the mathematical method, utilizing dimensional analysis. Then, the Phase2 code, which is based on the finite element method, was utilized to predict crack growth in rocks. The results of numerical analysis show slight deviations from the empirical model. Hence, the polynomial re- gression analysis was used to modify the model. Finally, the modified model shows a good agreement with the results gained from numerical modeling.

Few attempts have been made to explore the effect of Zn fertilization on the performance of medicinal plants in general and fennel in particular, under adverse conditions. This study was conducted to examine the efficacy of zinc (Zn) in correcting physiological responses of fennel to water deficit. Twelve field-grown fennel genotypes were subjected to two levels of irrigation (irrigation after 25%–35% and 75%–85% depletion of available soil water) and two levels of foliar-applied Zn (0 and 4 g kg −1 ). Water deprivation had significant effects on all characteristics;i.e., in contrast to seed essential oil concentration, harvest index, and superoxide dismutase (SOD) and catalase activities, it led to decreases in the rest of the attributes. Varietal differences in response to drought were meaningful for most of the traits. Genotypic variations for dry mass and seed yield were consistent with differences among the genotypes in leaf water potential, relative water content, proline concentration, and chlorophyll concentrations. Zinc led to significant increases in all physiological attributes, including activation of antioxidant defense responses manifested in ascorbate peroxidase and SOD activities and carotenoid concentration. The Zn-effect tended to be more notable in drought-stricken fennel plants in a majority of the traits. Based on our findings, Zn could be considered an effective micronutrient for ameliorating, at least in part, the stressful effects of water deficit on fennel.

In the present study, fracture toughness of functionally graded steels in crack divider configuration has been modeled. By utilizing plain carbon and austenitic stainless steels slices with various thicknesses and arrangements as electroslag remelting electrodes, functionally graded steels were produced. The fracture toughness of the functionally graded steels in crack divider configuration has been found to depend on the composites＇ type together with the volume fraction and the position of the containing phases. According to the area under stress-strain curve of each layer in the functionally graded steels, a mathematical model has been presented for predicting fracture toughness of composites by using the rule of mixtures. The fracture toughness of each layer has been modified according to the position of that layer where for the edge layers, net plane stress condition was supposed and for the central layers, net plane strain condition was presumed. There is a good agreement between experimental results and those acquired from the analytical model.

An adaptive Tikhonov regularization is integrated with an h-adaptive grid-based scheme for simulation of elastodynamic problems, involving seismic sources with discontinuous solutions and random media. The Tikhonov method is adapted by a newly-proposed detector based on the MINMOD limiters and the grids are adapted by the multiresolution analysis (MRA) via interpolation wavelets. Hence, both small and large magnitude physical waves are preserved by the adaptive estimations on non-uniform grids. Due to developing of non-dissipative spurious oscillations, numerical stability is guaranteed by the Tikhonov regularization acting as a post-processor on irregular grids. To preserve waves of small magnitudes, an adaptive regularization is utilized: using of smaller amount of smoothing for small magnitude waves. This adaptive smoothing guarantees also solution stability without over smoothing phenomenon in stochastic media. Proper distinguishing between noise and small physical waves are challenging due to existence of spurious oscillations in numerical simulations. This identification is performed in this study by the MINMOD limiter based algorithm. Finally, efficiency of the proposed concept is verified by: 1) three benchmarks of one-dimensional (1-D) wave propagation problems;2) P-SV point sources and rupturing line-source including a bounded fault zone with stochastic material properties.
