KaKs_Calculator is a software package that calculates nonsynonymous （Ka） and synonymous （Ks） substitution rates through model selection and model averaging. Since existing methods for this estimation adopt their specific mutation （substitution） models that consider different evolutionary features, leading to diverse estimates, KaKs_Calculator implements a set of candidate models in a maximum likelihood framework and adopts the Akaike information criterion to measure fitness between models and data, aiming to include as many features as needed for accurately capturing evolutionary information in protein-coding sequences. In addition, several existing methods for calculating Ka and Ks are also incorporated into this software. KaKs_Calculator, including source codes, compiled executables, and documentation, is freely available for academic use at http：//***/***.

BACKGrOUND: Healthcare professionals have a duty to maintain basic life support(BLS) skills. This study aims to evaluate medical students' factual knowledge of BLS and the training they ***: A cross-sectional, closed-response questionnaire was distributed to the fi rst-and fourth-year students studying at institutions in the United Kingdom. The paper questionnaire sought to quantify respondent's previous BLS training, factual knowledge of the BLS algorithm using five multiple choice questions(MCQs), and valuate their desire for further BLS training. Students received 1 point for each correctly identifi ed answer to the 5 MCQ'***: A total of 3,732 complete responses were received from 21 medical schools. Eighty percent(n=2,999) of students completed a BLS course as part of their undergraduate medical studies. There was a signifi cant difference(Prcentage of the fourth-year students selecting the correct answer in all the MCQ's compared to the fi rst-year students except in identifyingthe correct depth of compressions required during CPr(P=0.095). Overall 10.3%(95% CI 9.9% to 10.7%) of respondents correctly identified the answer to 5 MCQ's on BLS: 9% of the first-year students(n=194) and 12% of the fourth-year students(n=190). On an institutional level the proportion of students answering all MCQ's correctly ranged from 2% to 54% at different universities. Eighty-one percent of students(n=3,031) wished for more BLS training in their ***: Factual knowledge of BLS is poor among medical students in the UK. There is a disparity in standards of knowledge across institutions and respondents indicating that they would like more training.

The endangered Asian tapir(Tapirus indicus)is threatened by large-scale habitat loss,forest fragmentation and increased hunting *** planning for this species,however,is hampered by a severe paucity of information on its ecology and population *** present the first Asian tapir population density estimate from a camera trapping study targeting tigers in a selectively logged forest within Peninsular Malaysia using a spatially explicit capture-recapture maximum likelihood based *** a trap effort of 2496 nights,17 individuals were identified corresponding to a density(standard error)estimate of 9.49(2.55)adult ta-pirs/100 *** our results include several caveats,we believe that our density estimate still serves as an important baseline to facilitate the monitoring of tapir population trends in Peninsular *** study also highlights the potential of extracting vital ecological and population information for other cryptic individual-ly identifiable animals from tiger-centric studies,especially with the use of a spatially explicit capture-recapture maximum likelihood based framework.

直接转换（或低中频）接收器设计已经出现很多年了。由于简单和成本低，因此这类接收器广泛用于蜂窝电话和无绳电话。直到最近，直接转换接收器集成电路才达到了基站的性能要求。下一代基站对低成本的无止境追求将人们的注意力引向了直接转换架构，这种架构可以灵活地满足多种射频（rF）标准的要求，并简化系统设计。用基带数字电路实现通道选择功能可带来很多好处，尤其是对采用多种标准的接收器来说更是这样。不过直接转换架构存在一个问题．这就是容易对接收器带内信号造成干扰。因此用于直接转换接收器的I／O解调器必须能够满足苛刻、可能高达80dB的动态范围要求。本文专门讨论用于基站应用的直接转换接收器所特有的问题，并介绍一种新的射频直接转换集成电路，该集成电路在解决这些问题上取得了很大的进展。

Aim:recurrence of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) after liver transplantation (LT) for chronic hepatitis B (CHB) can be associated with reappearance of hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg). The current study determined the significance of HBsAg qualitatively and quantitatively using a highly sensitive assay in recurrent HCC after transplantation. Methods:Consecutive patients with HBV-related HCC with LT were included. Oral nucleos(t)ide analogues without hepatitis B immune globulin were used as hepatitis B virus (HBV) prophylaxis. Quantitative HBsAg levels were performed at time of transplant, at 1 month, 3 and 6 months post transplant using a highly sensitive (hs)-HBsAg assay. results:One hundred and fourteen patients were included, with a median follow-up of 80 months, with 24 cases of HCC recurrence, and a cumulative rate of 20.7% at 5 years. There was significant correlation between time of tumor recurrence and time of HBsAg reappearance (r = 0.551,P = 0.027). Early HCC recurrence was associated with higher median level of hs-HBsAg at the time of transplant (72.85vs. 69.70 IU/mL,P = 0.018). Using a hs-HBsAg cut-off level of 0.0005 IU/mL, patients with levels above this threshold at 3 and 6 months were associated with higher rate of early HCC recurrence (28.6%vs. 3.0% and 26.9%vs. 2.9% respectively, bothP =0.0006). There was no significant difference in HCC recurrence between positive and negative HBsAg using the conventional qualitative HBsAg assay. Conclusion:Serum hs-HBsAg levels of≥ 0.0005 IU/mL at 3 to 6 months after LT is associated with higher rates of early HCC recurrence, and may be useful as an early tumor marker.

Objective：This study was to investigate the variables in bone marrow harvesting procedure and individual donor factors which can potentially affect the yield of mesenchymal stromal cells（MSC）.Methods：We determined the yield of MSC from bone marrow under different clinical conditions by comparing the MSC colony numbers from：（1） donors of different ages;（2） healthy donors and patients with leukemia;（3） bone marrow aspirated at different time points during marrow harvesting;（4） bone marrow harvested by different ***：During the process of harvesting,the number of MSC significantly decreased with increase number of aspiration,from 675/ml at the initial decreased to 60/ml after 100 ml bone marrow aspirated,and 50/ml after 200 ml bone marrow *** number of MSC retrieved from leukemia patients（99/ml bone marrow） was significantly lower than that of healthy donors（708/ml bone marrow）.However,there was no significant difference in growth *** was no significant age-related difference of MSC yielded from donors 55 *** there was no significant difference in MSC number between the samples from single end-holed needle and those from multiple-side-hole ***：The optimal bone marrow samples for MSC collection should be obtained earlier in the process of harvesting *** marrow from donors 55 years was equally good as MSC *** autologous MSC from leukemia patients can be utilized for in-vitro MSC expansion.
