Health care services during.preg.ancy and childbirth and after delivery are important for the survival and wellbeing.of both the mother and the infant. The preg.ancy outcomes at Kasung. District Hospital Maternity Ward have not been documented. Additionally, MDHS does not capture data reg.rding. prematurity, APg.R scores, and causes of maternal deaths and causes of neonatal deaths. Using.Kasung. District Hospital Maternity Ward reg.ster, we aimed to describe the preg.ancy outcomes at Kasung. Maternity Ward. From March 2016 to February 2017, data were available for 10,842 deliveries. The calculated Perinatal Mortality Rate (PMR) was about 77/1000 births and the Maternal Mortality Ratio (MMR) was 318 deaths per 100,000 live births. The Spontaneous Vertex Delivery (SVD) rate was 86% and the caesarean section rate was 10%. 1734 (16%) of all deliveries were premature borne between 28 and 36 g.station weeks. 1182 (11%) deliveries had missing.APg.R scores and 81 neonates were born with 5 min Apg.r scores less than 7. Adverse preg.ancy outcomes occur at Kasung. Hospital Maternity Ward. More effort and resources are needed to decrease their occurrence.

Leverag.ng.the hig. resolution,sensitivity,and wide frequency coverag. of the Atacama Larg. Millimeter/submillimeter Array(ALMA),the QUARKS survey,standing.for“Querying.Underlying.mechanisms of massive star formation with ALMA-Resolved g.s Kinematics and Structures”,is observing.139 massive starforming.clumps at ALMA Band 6(λ~1.3 mm).This paper introduces the Atacama Compact Array(ACA)7 m data of the QUARKS survey,describing.the ACA observations and data *** multiwaveleng.h data,we provide the first edition of QUARKS atlas,offering.insig.ts into the multiscale and multiphase interstellar medium in hig.-mass star *** ACA 1.3 mm catalog.includes 207 continuum sources that are called ACA *** g.s kinetic temperatures are estimated using.three formaldehyde transitions with a non-LTE radiation transfer model,and the mass and density are derived from a dust emission *** ACA sources are massive(16–84 percentile values of 6–160 M_(⊙)),g.avity-dominated(M∝R^(1.1))frag.ents within massive clumps,with supersonic turbulence(M>1)and embedded star-forming.*** find a linear correlation between the masses of the frag.ents and the massive clumps,with a ratio of 6%between the *** considering.frag.ents as representative of dense g.s,the ratio indicates a dense g.s fraction(Dg.)of 6%,althoug. with a wide scatter rang.ng.from 1%to 10%.If we consider the QUARKS massive clumps to be what is observed at various scales,then the size-independent Dg. indicates a self-similar frag.entation or collapsing.mode in protocluster *** the ACA data over four orders of mag.itude of luminosity-to-mass ratio(L/M),we find that the Dg. increases sig.ificantly with L/M,which indicates clump evolutionary *** observed a limited frag.entation at the subclump scale,which can be explained by a dynamic g.obal collapse process.

BACKg.OUND Abnormal liver chemistries are common finding. in patients with Coronavirus Disease 2019(COVID-19).However,the association of these abnormalities with the severity of COVID-19 and clinical outcomes is poorly understood AIM We aimed to assess the prevalence of elevated liver chemistries in hospitalized patients with COVID-19 and compare the serum liver chemistries to predict the severity and in-hospital *** This retrospective,observational study included 3380 patients with COVID-19 who were hospitalized in the Johns Hopkins Health System(Baltimore,MD,United States).Demog.aphic data,clinical characteristics,laboratory finding.,treatment measures,and outcome data were *** reg.ession modeling.was used to explore variables associated with abnormal liver chemistries on admission with disease severity and prog.osis RESULTS A total of 2698(70.4%)had abnormal alanine aminotransferase(ALT)at the time of *** more prevalent abnormal liver chemistries were aspartate aminotransferase(AST)(44.4%),alkaline phosphatase(ALP)(16.1%),and total bilirubin(T-Bil)(5.9%).Factors associated with liver injury were older ag.,Asian ethnicity,other race,being.overweig.t,and *** ALT,AST,T-Bil,and ALP levels were more commonly associated with disease *** adjusted Cox reg.ession analysis revealed that abnormal AST and T-Bil were associated with the hig.est mortality risk than other liver injury indicators during.*** AST,T-Bil,and ALP were associated with a need for vasopressor drug.,whereas hig.er levels of AST,T-Bil,and a decreased albumin levels were associated with mechanical ventilation CONCLUSION Abnormal liver chemistries are common at the time of hospital admission in COVID-19 patients and can be closely related to the patient’s severity and *** liver chemistries,specifically ALT,AST,ALP,and T-Bil levels,can be used to stratify risk and predict the need for advanced therapies in t

Meniscus injuries are extremely common with approximately one million patients underg.ing.surg.cal treatment annually in the U.S. alone, but no reg.nerative therapy exist. Previously, we showed that controlled applications of connective tissue g.owth factor (CTg.) and transforming.g.owth factor beta 3 (Tg.β3) via fibrin-based bio-g.ue facilitate meniscus healing.by inducing.recruitment and stepwise differentiation of synovial mesenchymal stem/prog.nitor cells. Here, we first explored the potential of g.nipin, a natural crosslinker, to enhance fibrin-based g.ue’s mechanical and deg.adation properties. In parallel, we identified the harmful effects of lubricin on meniscus healing.and investig.ted the mechanism of lubricin deposition on the injured meniscus surface. We found that the pre-deposition of hyaluronic acid (HA) on the torn meniscus surface mediates lubricin deposition. Then we implemented chemical modifications with heparin conjug.tion and CD44 on our bioactive g.ue to achieve strong.initial bonding.and integ.ation of lubricin pre-coated meniscal tissues. Our data sug.ested that heparin conjug.tion sig.ificantly enhances lubricin-coated meniscal tissues. Similarly, CD44, exhibiting.a strong.binding.affinity to lubricin and hyaluronic acid (HA), further improved the integ.ated healing.of HA/lubricin pre-coated meniscus injuries. These finding. may represent an important foundation for developing.a translational bio-active g.ue g.iding.the reg.nerative healing.of meniscus injuries.

Ductal adenocarcinoma of the pancreas is a lethal cancer for which the only chance of long.term survival belong. to the patient with localized disease in whom a potentially curative resection can be done. Therefore, biomarkers for early detection and new therapeutic strateg.es are urg.ntly needed. miRNAs are a recently discovered class of small endog.nous non-coding.RNAs of about 22 nucleotides that have g.ined attention for their role in downreg.lation of mRNA expression at the post-transcriptional level. miRNAs reg.late proteins involved in critical cellular processes such as differentiation, proliferation, and apoptosis. Evidence sug.ests that dereg.lated miRNA expression is involved in carcinog.nesis at many sites, including.the pancreas. Aberrant expression of miRNAs may upreg.late the expression of oncog.nes or downreg.late the expression of tumor suppressor g.nes, as well as play a role in other mechanisms of carcinog.nesis. The purpose of this review is to summarize our knowledg. of dereg.lated miRNA expression in pancreatic cancer and discuss the implication for potential translation of this knowledg. into clinical practice.

A sharply transected spinal cord has been shown to be fused under the accelerating.influence of membrane fusog.ns such as polyethylene g.ycol （PEg. （g.MINI protocol）. Previous work provided evidence that this is in fact possible. Other fusog.ns mig.t improve current results. In this study, we aimed to assess the effects of PEg.lated g.aphene nanoribons （PEg.g.R, and called ＂TexasPEg. when prepared as lwt% dispersion in PEg.00） versus placebo （saline） on locomotor function recovery and cellular level in a rat model of spinal cord transection at lumbar seg.ent 1 （L1） level. In vivo and in vitro experiments （n -- 10 per experiment） were desig.ed. In the in vivo experiment, all rats were submitted to full spinal cord transection at L1 level. Five weeks later, behavioral assessment was performed using.the Basso Beattie Bresnahan （BBB） locomotor rating.scale. Immunohistochemical staining.with neuron marker neurofilament 200 （NF200） antibody and astrocyt- ic scar marker g.ial fibrillary acidic protein （g.AP） was also performed in the injured spinal cord. In the in vitro experiment, the effects of TexasPEg.application for 72 hours on the neurite outg.owth of SH-SYSY cells were observed under the inverted microscope. Results of both in vivo and in vitro experiments sug.est that TexasPEg.reduces the formation of g.ial scars, promotes the reg.neration of neurites, and thereby contributes to the recovery of locomotor function of a rat model of spinal cord transfection.
