Laser enucleation of the prostate is a proven and effectivesize-independent method for the surgical management of symptomaticbenign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH)and is considered as the“goldstandard”by many *** major hurdles that stand in theway of this becoming a universally used procedure for BPH are thesteep learning curve associated with mastering the procedure andpossibility of perioperative transient *** advances inteaching methodologies have helped tackle the difficulty in learning itand increased the number of urologists utilizing the *** forthe second hurdle,transient incontinence rates postlaser enucleationof the prostate have improved with the advent of newer techniques *** et al.1 assesses the incidence of stress,urge,andmixed urinary incontinence following laser enucleation of the prostateby comparing en-bloc and non-en-bloc techniques in a multicenterseries of 5068 men with BPH.

Even in an age of increasing spacecraft exploration, telescopic observations of Mars continue to provide new data and new insights into the nature of the Martian surface, atmosphere, and climate. Three major technological advances in the last decade, combinde, have allowed telescopic observations to increase our knowledge of the planet: (1) Advances in infrared, near-infrared, and radio wavelength array detector and telescope technology, allowing high spatial and/ or high spectral resolution imaging in new and diagnostic wavelength regions; (2) The advent of routine space-based telescopic observations of Mars using the Hubble Space Telescope , providing the ability to study the planet at high spatial resolution over a much longer part of its orbit than from groundbased telescopes, and offsetting some of the inherent loss in resolution associated with the recent series of aphelic oppositions of the planet; and (3) The widespread use and availability of CCD cameras and powerful telescopes in the 10 -

Olfactory dysfunction is common in Parkinson＇s disease （PD） and often predates the diagnosis by years, reflecting early deposition of Lewy pathology, the histo- logic hallmark of PD, in the olfactory bulb. Clinical tests are available that allow for the rapid characterization of olfactory dysfunction, including tests of odor identification, discrimination, detection, and recognition thresholds, memory, and tests assessing the build-up of odor intensity across increasing suprathreshold stimulus concentrations. The high prevalence of olfactory impairment, along with the ease and low cost of assessment, has fostered great interest in olfaction as a potential biomarker for PD. Hyposmia may help differentiate PD from other causes of parkinsonism, and may also aid in the identification of ＂pre-motor＂ PD due to the early pathologic involvement of olfactory pathways. Olfactory function is also correlated with other non-motor features of PD and may serve as a predictor of cognitive decline. In this article, we summarize the existing literature on olfaction in PD, focusing on the potential for olfaction as a biomarker for early or differential diagnosis and prognosis.

Phylogenetic reconstruction of Chirita and allies (Gesneriaceae) with taxonomic treatments

Chirita D. Don, a large genus in the subfamily Cyrtandroideae of Gesneriaceae, has been the subject of much debate whether it is a natural group or not. In addition, the highly heterogeneous Chirita has also been very problematic with regard to delimitation and subdivision. Here we used the nrDNA internal transcribed spacer and cpDNA trnL-f for molecular phylogenetic analaysis, combined with morphological data. Our results suggest that Chirita is an artificial, polyphyletic genus. The most important character that defines Chirita, the dorso-ventrally oblique and bilamellar stigma, has evolved convergently in different clades of diandrous Cyrtandroideae. Chirita sensu stricto only includes the species of Chirita sect. Chirita, whereas Chirita sect. Microchirita is an independent clade located at the basal node of the phylogenetic tree. Chirita sect. Liebigia is closely related to Didymocarpus with an entire stigma unlike other species of Chirita. The species of Chirita sect. Gibbosaccus, Chiritopsis, Primulina, and Wentsaiboea form a monophyletic group that is sister to a strongly supported clade comprising four monotypic genera Paralagarosolen, Calcareoboea, Petrocodon, and Tengia. We further analyzed the morphological evolution of Chirita and identified a series of morphological synapomorphies for the monophyletic groups revealed herein, and thereby provide a taxonomic treatment in this study.

As demand accelerates for multifunctional devices with a small footprint and minimal power consumption,2.5D and 3D advanced packaging architectures have emerged as an essential solution that use through-substrate vias(TSVs)as vertical in *** stacking en ables chip packages with increased functi on ality,enhanced desig n versatility,minimal power loss,reduced footprint and high *** the potential of photolithography for vertical interconnect access(VIA)fabrication requires fast and accurate predictive modeling of diffraction effects and resist film *** procedure is especially challenging for broad-spectrum exposure systems that use,for example,Hg bulbs with g-,h-,and i-line UV *** this paper,we present new methods and equations for VIA latent image determination in photolithography that are suitable for broad-spectrum exposure and negate the need for complex and time-consuming in situ *** technique is accurate,converges quickly on the average modern PC and could be readily integrated into photolithography simulation *** derive a polychromatic light attenuation equation from the Beer-Lambert law,which can be used in a critical exposure dose model to determine the photochemical reaction *** in teg rate this equation with an exact scalar diffraction formula to produce a succinct equation comprising a complete coupling between light propagation phenomena and photochemical *** then perform a comparative study between 2D/3D photoresist latent image simulation geometries and directly corresponding experimental data,which demonstrates a highly positive *** anticipate that this technique will be a valuable asset to photolithography,micro-and nano-optical systems and advaneed packaging/system integration with applications in technology domains ranging from space to automotive to the Internet of Things(loT).
