In this work,we have prepared the hierarchically nanostructured core–shell NiCo layered double hydroxide(NiCo-LDH)nanosheets-and ZnFe_(2)O_(4) nanocubes-decorated polyacrylonitrile(PAN)/pitch-based carbon nanofibers(PPCNs)webs(NiCo-LDH@PPCNs as cathode and ZnFe_(2)O_(4)@PPCNs as anode materials)with the bonded network structure by a facile and scalable hydrothemal ***,the low-cost pitch with lower softening point(~90℃)as co-precursor was utilized to produce the PAN/pitch-based carbon nanofibers(PPCNs)with enhanced electrical *** obtained PPCNs with pitch content of 30%(PP30CNs)electrode material delivered higher specific capacitance(~67 F g^(-1))than that(~48 F g^(-1))of the PAN-based carbon nanofibers(PCNs)at 1 A g^(-1),due to the increased electrical conductivity and lower interfacial charge transfer resistance(RCT)of~0.16 ***,the NiCo-LDH-decorated PP30CNs(NiCoLDH@PP30CNs)as cathode material showed superior specific capacitance of 1162 F g^(-1) at 1.0 A g^(-1) and ultra-high retention rate of 91.56%at 10 A g^(-1).The ZnFe_(2)O_(4)@PP30CNs as anode material also showed higher specific capacitance of 282 F g^(-1) at 1 A g^(-1) and good rate capability with capacitance retention of 56.73%at 10 A g^(-1).The as-fabricated asymmetric NiCo-LDH@PP30CNs//ZnFe_(2)O_(4)@PP30CNs hybrid supercapacitor device delivered a specific capacitance of~98 F g^(-1) at 1 A g^(-1) and excellent capacitance retention of~88%after 5000 charge–discharge cycles.

Prominent cycling reversibility and kinetics enabled by CaTiO3 protective layer on Zn metal for aqueous Zn-ion batteries

Aqueous Zn-ion batteries （AZIBs） have received considerable attention owing to their various advantages such as safety,low cost,simple battery assembly conditions,and high ionic ***,they still suffer from serious problems,including uncontrollable dendrite growth,corrosion,hydrogen evolution reaction （HER） from water decomposition,electrode passivation,and unexpected *** creation of a uniform artificial nanocrystal layer on the Zn anode surface is a promising strategy for resolving these ***,we propose the use of a perovskite CaTiO3（CTO） protective layer on Zn（CTO@Zn） as a promising approach for improving the performance of *** CTO artificial layer provides an efficient pathway for Zn ion diffusion towards the Zn metal because of the high dielectric constant （εr=180） and ferroelectric characteristics that enable the alignment of dipole moments and redistribute the Zn2+ions in the CTO *** avoiding the direct contact of the Zn anode with the electrolyte solution,the uneven dendrite growth,corrosion,parasitic side reactions,and HER are mitigated,while CTO retains its mechanical and chemical robustness during ***,CTO@Zn demonstrates an improved lifespan in a symmetric cell configuration compared with bare ***@Zn shows steady overpotential （～68 m V） for 1500 h at 1 mA cm-2/0.5 mA h cm-2,excelling bare ***,when paired with the V2O5-C cathode,the CTO@Zn//V2O5-C full battery delivers 148.4 mA h g-1（based on the mass of the cathode） after 300 *** study provides new insights into Zn metal anodes and the development of high-performance AZIBs.

Comparison of electrochemical properties of atmospheric pressure plasma coatings for Al_2O_3-3TiO_2 and CoNiCrAlY in sea water

To improve the durability of underwater rotating products,the corrosion characteristics in harsh marine environment were evaluated through various electrochemical experiments on the Al2O3-3TiO2 and CoNiCrAlY coating layers by atmospheric pressure plasma spray coating *** evaluating the corrosion resistance of these materials,their applicability to environmentally friendly power generation equipment such as blades of tidal current turbines was *** to the Tafel analysis for micro-areas including the coating layer,the coating/metal interlayer and the base metal,the Al2O3-3TiO2 coating layer and the CoNiCrAlY coating layer show markedly lower corrosion current density than the base *** corrosion current density of the CoNiCrAlY coating layer (9.75316×10-8A/cm2) is about 1.6 times more than that of the Al2O3-3TiO2 coating layer (6.13139×10-8A/cm2).

Grade-4 commercially pure titanium with ultrahigh strength achieved by twinning-induced grain refinement through cryogenic deformation

The yield strength of commercially pure(CP) Ti of ASTM grade 4, the strongest among all the CP-Ti grades, is too low for structural applications that require high-strength materials. Here, we demonstrate the strengthening of grade-4 CP Ti by cryogenic-temperature rolling(CTR), which enables deformation twinning in grade-4 CP Ti to achieve twinning-induced grain refinement. CTR activated {11.22} twinning and {10.12} twinning, which are the most common twinning systems in pure Ti, whereas room-temperature rolling(RTR) did not activate any twinning system. CTR with imposing an area reduction of just 30% significantly increased the yield strength of the CP Ti to 946 MPa, which is not achievable through typical processes performed at or above room temperature and is comparable to that of commercial Ti-6 Al-4 V. The significant increase in strength was due to microstructural strengthening caused by twinning-induced grain refinement, combined with dislocation accumulation. In contrast to RTR, CTR greatly increased the stress concentration at grain boundaries(GBs), which caused the unusual activation of twinning in the grade-4 CP Ti by facilitating twin nucleation at GBs. The stress concentration increased because CTR activated the slip to a lesser extent compared to RTR, thereby reducing the strain compatibility between neighboring grains. These results will contribute to development of ultrahigh-strength CP Ti and may thereby extend its use to structural applications that require high-strength materials.

Mechanical and electrochemical characteristics evaluation in annealing treatment for ship material

The effect of heat treatment on the electrochemical and mechanical properties of SS400 steel was investigated, and the effects of annealing conditions on notched specimens subjected to the slow strain rate test (SSRT) were studied. The results show that no correlations are observed among the maximum tensile strength, yield strength, and stress corrosion cracking. In contrast, the elongation and time-to-fracture are improved with stress-relieving annealing compared with the as-received condition. The elongation, time-to-fracture, and number of dimples increase with annealing heat treatment.

A comparison of desensitization methods: Rituximab with/without plasmapheresis in ABO-incompatible living donor liver transplantation

Background: Plasmapheresis is a desensitization method used prior to ABO-incompatible(ABO-I) living donor liver transplantation. However, studies on its usefulness in the rituximab era are ***: Fifty-six adult patients underwent ABO-I living donor liver transplantation between January2012 and October 2015. A single dose of rituximab(300 mg/m~2) was administered 2 weeks before surgery with plasmapheresis in all patients until February 2014(RP group, n = 26). Patients were administered rituximab only, without plasmapheresis between March 2014 and October 2015(RO group, n = 30).Results: The 6-, 12-and 18-month overall survival rates were 92.3%, 80.8% and 76.9% in the RP group and 96.6%, 85.4% and 85.4% in the RO group, respectively(P = 0.574). When the initial isoagglutinin titers < 16, neither group showed a rebound rise of isoagglutinin titers. For patients with initial isoagglutinin titers ≥ 16, the rebound rise of isoagglutinin titers was more prominent in the RP group. There was no difference in time-dependent changes in B cell subpopulations and ABO-I-related ***: Sufficient desensitization for ABO-I living donor liver transplantation can be achieved using rituximab alone. This desensitization strategy does not affect the isoagglutinin titers, ABO-I-related complications and patient survival.

Vitellogenin（Vtg）is the precursor of egg yolk proteins,and its expression has been used as a reliable biomarker for estrogenic contamination in the aquatic *** examine the biomarker potential of the self-fertilizing killifish Kryptolebias marmoratus Vtgs（Km-Vtgs）,full genomic DNAs of Km-Vtgs-Aa,Km-Vtgs-Ab,and Km-Vtgs-C were cloned,sequenced,and *** Vtg genes in *** are tandemly placed in a550 kb section of the same *** silico analysis of promoter regions revealed that both the Km-Vtgs-Aa and Km-Vtgs-Ab genes had an estrogen response element（ERE）,but the Km-Vtgs-C gene did ***,all three Km-Vtgs genes had several ERE-half sites in their promoter *** analysis demonstrated that the three deduced amino acid residues were highly conserved with conventional Vtgs protein,forming distinctive clades within teleost *** tissue showed the highest expression of Km-Vtg transcripts in all tested tissues（brain/pituitary,eye,gonad,intestine,skin,and muscle）in response to endocrine disrupting chemical（EDC）-exposed ***-Vtg transcripts were significantly increased in response to 17β-estradiol（E2）,tamoxifen（TMX）,4-n-nonylphenol（NP）,bisphenol A（BPA）,and octylphenol（OP）over 24 hr *** Km-Vtg-A gene was highly expressed compared to the control in response to NP and ***-induced modulatory patterns of Km-Vtg gene expression were different depending on tissue,gender,and isoforms.

Significance of adverse outcome pathways in biomarker-based environmental risk assessment in aquatic organisms

In environmental risk assessments（ERA）, biomarkers have been widely used as an early warning signal of environmental contamination. However, biomarker responses have limitation due to its low relevance to adverse outcomes（e.g., fluctuations in community structure, decreases in population size, and other similar ecobiologically relevant indicators of community structure and function）. To mitigate these limitations, the concept of adverse outcome pathways（AOPs） was developed. An AOP is an analytical, sequentially progressive pathway that links a molecular initiating event（MIE） to an adverse outcome. Recently, AOPs have been recognized as a potential informational tool by which the implications of molecular biomarkers in ERA can be better understood. To demonstrate the utility of AOPs in biomarker-based ERA, here we discuss a series of three different biological repercussions caused by exposure to benzo（a）pyrene（Ba P）, silver nanoparticles（Ag NPs）, and selenium（Se）. Using mainly aquatic invertebrates and selected vertebrates as model species, we focus on the development of the AOP concept. Aquatic organisms are suitable bioindicator species whose entire lifespans can be observed over a short period; moreover, these species can be studied on the molecular and population ***, interspecific differences between aquatic organisms are important to consider in an AOP framework, since these differences are an integral part of the natural *** development of an environmental pollutant-mediated AOP may enable a better understanding of the effects of environmental pollutants in different scenarios in the diverse community of an ecosystem.

Visual outcomes after three different surgical procedures for correction of refractive error in patients with thin corneas

AIM:To investigate and compare the visual and refractive outcomes of small incision lenticule extraction(SMILE),laser assisted sub-epithelial keratomileusis(LASEK),and LASEK combined with corneal collagen cross-linking(LASEKCXL)surgery in patients with less than 500μm of central corneal thickness(CCT).METHODS:The retrospective medical records review was conducted on the patients with CCT less than 500μm treated with SMILE,LASEK,and *** was a total of 172 eyes,76 eyes were in the SMILE group,53 eyes in the LASEK group,and 43 eyes in the LASEK-CXL *** distance visual acuity(UDVA),spherical equivalent refraction(SE),and corneal haze were followed up in the three groups for 12 ***:At 12 mo postoperatively,there were no statistically significant differences in UDVA and in the absolute value of SE between the three *** predictability within±0.50 D in the SMILE group(85.5%)was significantly higher than in both the LASEK group(64.2%,P<0.01)and the LASEK-CXL group(69.8%,P=0.04).The efficacy index and safety index were not significantly different among the three *** haze at 12 mo postoperatively was higher in the LASEK-CXL group(27.9%)than in the SMILE group(2.6%,P<0.01)and in the LASEK group(7.5%,P<0.01).CONCLUSION:In patients with CCT less than 500μm,SMILE,LASEK,and LASEK-CXL appear to be effective for myopic *** them,SMILE surgery shows the highest predictability.

A Cell-Based Linear Smoothed Finite Element Method for Polygonal Topology Optimization

The aim of this work is to employ a modified cell-based smoothed finite element method(S-FEM)for topology optimization with the domain discretized with arbitrary *** the present work,the linear polynomial basis function is used as the weight function instead of the constant weight function used in the standard *** improves the accuracy and yields an optimal convergence *** gradients are smoothed over each smoothing domain,then used to compute the stiffness *** the proposed scheme,an optimum topology procedure is conducted over the smoothing *** materials are distributed over each smoothing domain and the filtering scheme relies on the smoothing *** tests are carried out to pursue the performance of the proposed optimization by comparing convergence,efficiency and accuracy.
