Developing a universal culture platform that manipulates cell fate is one of the most important tasks in the investigation of the role of the cellular *** study focuses on the application of topographical and electrical field stimuli to human myogenic precursor cell(hMPC)cultures to assess the influences of the adherent direction,proliferation,and differentiation,and induce preconditioning-induced therapeutic ***,a topographical surface of commercially available culture dishes was ach.eved by femtosecond laser *** detachable biphasic electrical current system was then applied to the hMPCs cultured on laser-textured culture ***-textured topograph.es were remarkably effective in inducing the assembly of hMPC myotubes by enhancing the orientation of adherent hMPCs compared with flat ***,electrical field stimulation through laser-textured topograph.es was found to promote the expression of myogenic regulatory factors compared with nonstimulated *** such,we successfully demonstrated that the combined stimulation of topographical and electrical cues could effectively enhance the myogenic maturation of hMPCs in a surface spatial and electrical field-dependent manner,thus providing the basis for therapeutic strategies.

Stretchable electronics is playing an integral role in fields such as wearable electronics and soft *** soft conductive materials,liquid metal is drawing intense attention as an electrode material due to its liquid nature at room ***,the merits of liquid metal conductor are limited by the presence of substrates or enclosed microchannels from physical disturbances by the underlying substrate when applying it to 3D surface and modifying complex *** overcome this limitation,we develop freestanding patterned liquid metal thin-film conductor(FS-GaIn).FS-GaIn was ach.eved by introducing metal nanowires to liquid metal and subsequent sequential selective laser processing and etching of directly patterned *** can be applied directly to nonflat surface without *** incorporated into electrical circuits,FS-GaIn shows high.electrical conductivity,stretchability,and *** concept of freestanding liquid metal can open a functionality to the conventional liquid metal electronics.

The development of new heterostructures with high photoactivity is a breakthrough for the limitation of solar-driven water ***,we first introduce indium oxide(In_(2)O_(3))nanorods(NRs)as a novel electron transport layer for bismuth vanadate(BiVO_(4))with a short charge diffusion ***_(2)O_(3)NRs reinforce the electron transport and hole blocking of BiVO_(4),surpassing the state-of-the-art photoelectrochemical performances of BiVO_(4)-based ***,a tannin-nickel-iron complex(TANF)is used as an oxygen evolution catalyst to speed up the reaction *** final TANF/BiVO_(4)/In_(2)O_(3)NR photoanode generates photocurrent densities of 7.1 mAcm^(−2) in sulfite oxidation and 4.2 mA cm^(−2) in water oxidation at 1.23 V versus the reversible hydrogen ***,the“artificial leaf,”which is a tandem cell with a perovskite/silicon solar cell,shows a solar-to-hydrogen conversion efficiency of 6.2%for unbiased solar water *** reveal significant advances in the photoactivity of TANF/BiVO_(4)/In_(2)O_(3)NRs from the tailored nanostructure and band structure for charge dynamics.

AIM： To examine whether trans-10,cis-12 CLA （t10C12） or cis-9,trans-11 CLA （c9t11） inhibits heregulin （hRG）-β- stimulated cell growth and hRG-β-erbB3 signaling in hT-29 cells. MeThODS： We cultured hT-29 cells in the absence or presence of the CLA isomers and/or the erbB3 ligand hRG-β. MTT assay, [^3h]thymidine incorporation, Annexin V staining, RT-PCR, Western blotting, immunoprecipitation, and in vitro kinase assay were performed. ReSULTS： hRG-β increased cell growth, but did not prevent DNA t10c12-induced growth inhibition. T10C12 inhibited DNA synthesis and induced apoptosis of hT-29 cells, whereas c9t11 had no effect. T10c12 decreased the levels of erbB1, erbB2, and erbB3 proteins and transcripts in a dose-dependent manner, whereas c9t11 had no effect. Immunoprecipitation/ Western blot studies revealed that t10c12 inhibited hRG- β-stimulated phosphorylation of erbB3, recruitment of the p85 subunit of phosphoinositide 3-kinase （PI3K） to erbB3, erbB3-associated PI3K activities, and phosphorylation of Akt. however, c9t11 had no effect on phospho Aid： levels. Neither t10c12 nor c9t11 had any effect on hRG-β-induced phosphorylation of eRK-1/2. CONCLUSION： These results indicate that the inhibition of hT-29 cell growth by t10c12 may be induced via its modulation of erbB3 signaling leading to inhibition of Akt activation.

Nowadays,the microgrid cluster is an important application scenario for energy *** trading,one of the most important research directions is the issue of *** determine reasonable pricing for the microgrid cluster,data communication is used to create the cyber-physical system(CPS),which can improve the observability of ***,the following works are carried out in the *** the physical layer:1)Regarding trading between microgrids and the load,based on the generalized game theory,an optimal pricing strategy is proposed,which takes into account the interactive relationships among microgrids and transforms the pricing problem into a Nikaido-Isoda function to obtain the optimal prices conveniently;2)Regarding peer-to-peer trading between two microgrids,based on evolutionary game theory and the penalty mechanism,the optimal sale price of the seller is selected with boundary *** the cyber layer,regarding the communication interruption issue existing in pricing(i.e.,the game process),based on the principle of matching the performance of the path with the importance degree of the data,a dynamic regulating method of paths is proposed,i.e.,adopting a new path to re-transmit the interrupted data to the ***,the effect of the proposed strategies is verified by case studies.

efficacy of 14-d vs 7-d moxifloxacin-based triple regimens for second-line helicobacter pylori eradication

AIM: To evaluate the efficacy of the 14-d moxifloxacinbased triple therapy for the second-line eradication of helicobacter pylori(h. pylori) ***: Between 2011 and 2013, we conducted a retrospective review of the medical records of 160 patients who had experienced failure of their first-line proton pump inhibitor-based eradication therapy and subsequently received the moxifloxacin-based triple therapy as a second-line eradication treatment regimen. The patients who were treated with the moxifloxacinbased triple therapy(oral 20 mg rabeprazole b.i.d., 1000 mg amoxicillin b.i.d., and 400 mg moxifloxacin q.d.) for 7 d were assigned to the RAM-7 group(n = 79) while those who took them for 14 days were assigned to RAM-14 group(n = 81). The eradication rates for both groups were determined by intentionto-treat(ITT) and per-protocol(PP) analyses. ITT analysis compared the treatment groups as originally allocated while the PP analysis including only those patients who had completed the treatment as originally allocated. Successful eradication therapy for h. pylori infection was defined as the documentation of a negative 13C-urea breath test 4 wk after the end of the eradication ***: The overall ITT eradication rate was 76.2%(122/160). The final ITT eradication rates were 70.8%(56/79; 95%CI: 63.3%-77.1%) in the RAM-7 group and 81.4%(66/81; 95%CI: 74.6%-88.3%) in the RAM-14 group(P = 0.034). The overall PP eradication rate was 84.1%(122/145), and the final PP eradication rates were 77.7%(56/72; 95%CI: 70.2%-85.3%) in the RAM-7 group and 90.4%(66/73; 95%CI: 82.8%-98.1%) in the RAM-14 group(P = 0.017). The h. pylori-eradication rates in the RAM-14 group were significantly higher compared with that of the RAM-7 group according to both the ITT(P = 0.034) and the PP analyses(P = 0.017). Involvement of lymphocytes in dextran sulfate sodium-induced experimental colitis

AIM： To investigate the roles of lymphocytes in the development of dextran sulfate sodium-induced colitis. MeThODS： Using various doses of dextran sulfate sodium （DSS）, we induced colitis in wild-type B6 control and Rag-1 knockout （h-2b haplotype） mice, and evaluated the colitis in terms of symptomatic and histologic parameters, such as weight loss, survival, severity of diarrhea, shortage of colon length and histological changes. Symptomatic parameters were checked daily and histological changes were scored. ReSULTS： Although development of colitis in Rag-1 knockout mice treated with high dose （5%） of DSS was comparable to that in B6 control mice, colitis progression was much more tolerable in Rag-1 knockout mice compared to than in B6 mice treated with low dose （1.5%） DSS. Symptomatic parameters as well as histopathologic changes were improved in Rag-1 knockout mice. CONCLUSION： These results indicate that the presence of lymphoo/tes contributes to colitis progression at low dose of DSS stimulation. Lymphoo/tes may play roles as an aggravating factor in DSS-induced colitis.

Formation of interfacial brittle phases sigma phase and IMC in hybrid titanium-to-stainless steel joint

The microstructures of the brazed joints for commercially pure Ti and stainless steel were investigated by the applications of various filler alloys including Ag-, Ti-, Zr- and Ni-based alloys. Generally, the dissimilar joints between Ti and stainless steel were dominated by the Ti-based intermetallic compounds （IMCs）, e.g. （Ti, Zr）2（Fe, Ni）, TiFe, TiCu, and Ti2（Fe, Ni）, due to a significant dissolution of Ti from the base metal. The （Fe-Cr） cr phase was also observed near the stainless steel due to a segregation of Cr into the interface region. This research demonstrates empirically that the brittleness of the Ti and stainless steel joint can not be avoided only by applying single braze alloy or single insert metal, and thus an introduction of additional suitable interlayer between the filler alloy and the base metal is necessary to prevent the brittleness of the joint.

Flexible and transparent thin-film silicon solar cells were fabricated and optimized for building-integrated photovoltaics and bifacial operation.A laser lift-off method was developed to avoid thermal damage during the transfer of light-scattering structures onto colorless polyimide substrates and thus enhance front-incidence photocurrent,while a dual n-type rear window layer was introduced to reduce optical losses,facilitate electron transport for rear incidence,and thus enhance performance during bifacial *** introduction of the window layer increased the rear-to-front power conversion efficiency ratio to~86%.The optimized bifacial power conversion efficiency for front and rear irradiances of 1 and 0.3 sun,respectively,equaled 6.15%,and the average transmittance within 500–800 nm equaled 36.9%.Additionally,the flexible and transparent solar cells fabricated using laser lift-off exhibited good mechanical reliability(i.e.,sustained 500 cycles at a bending radius of 6 mm)and were therefore suitable for building-integrated photovoltaics.
