Essential thrombocythemia(ET) and polycythemia vera(PV) frequently present with erythromelalgia and acrocyanotic complications, migraine-like microvascular cerebral and ocular transient ischemic attacks(MIAs) and/or acute coronary disease. The spectrum of MIAs in ET range from poorly localized symptoms of transient unsteadiness, dysarthria and scintillating scotoma to focal symptoms of transient monocular blindness, transient mono- or hemiparesis or both. The attacks all have a sudden onset, occur sequentially rather than simultaneously, last for a few seconds to several minutes and are usually associated with a dull, pulsatile or migraine-like headache. Increased hematocrit and blood viscosity in PV patients aggravate the microvascular ischemic syndrome of thrombocythemia to major arterial and venous thrombotic complications. Phlebotomy to correct hematocrit to normal in PV significantly reduces major arterial and venous thrombotic complications, but fails to prevent the platelet-mediated erythromelalgia and MIAs. Complete long-term relief of the erythromelalgic microvascular disturbances, MIAs and major thrombosis in ET and PV patients can be obtained with low dose aspirin and platelet reduction to normal, but not with anticoagulation. Skin punch biopsies from the erythromelalgic area show fibromuscular intimal proliferation of arterioles complicated by occlusive plateletrich thrombi leading to acrocyanotic ischemia. Symptomatic ET patients with erythromelalgic microvascular disturbances have shortened platelet survival, increased platelet activation markers β-thromboglobulin(β-TG), platelet factor 4(PF4) and thrombomoduline(TM), increased urinary thromboxane B2(TXB2) excretion, and no activation of the coagulation markers thrombin fragments F1+2 and fibrin degradation products. Knowledge of the clinical and biological profile of patients infected with HIV and hepatitis B and/or C is essential in order to identify and implement effective management strategies. Methods: This was a retrospective descriptive study from January 01, 2016 to June 01, 2021. Adult patients aged at least 18 years infected with HIV type 1 and/or 2, na?ve to ARV treatment. Univariate analyses were assessed using Pearson’s Chi2 test. The Student Newman test was used for comparison between groups using R software version 4.0.2. Objective: To draw up the epidemiological, clinical, paraclinical and evolutionary profiles of HIV-treated-patients in relation to HIV/HBV and HIV/HCV co-infections in order to allow the identification and the implementation of effective management strategies. Results: Of the 379 patients included 280 (73.88%) were women. At treatment initiation, the mean age was 40.14 ± 11.84 years. The majority of patients consulted at WHO stage III (51.45%). Clinical suspicion was the most frequent screening circumstance (51.71%). The pathologies frequently reported at the first consultation were diarrhea (28%) and shingles (16%). Body mass index was normal in 50.5% of patients. HIV1 infection was the majority (91.03%). A total of 270 had a CD4 count at treatment initiation. The mean CD4 cell count was 304.17 ± 242.06 cells/μL, and 116 (42.59%) of them had a CD4 ≤ 200 cells/μL. Viral load at treatment initiation was documented in 62 patients (16.35%) and 70.97% of them had a detectable viral load (greater than 1000 copies/mL). The clinical and biological evolution was relatively good in patients after therapeutic initiation. HIV-HBV co-infection was 24.11% and HIV-HCV co-infection was 2.26%. The mortality rate was 3.69%. Conclusion: These results reflect a significant delay in HIV infection diagnosis. Furthermore, hepatitis B and/or C is co-infections that increasingly affect people living with HIV. Objective: The aim of this study was to characterize the polymorphisms of the DC-SIGN (-336 A/G, rs4804803) gene and their association with the immunopathogenicity of dengue fever in Burkina Faso. Methods: A total of three hundred forty-one subjects, patients of all ages have been included in the study: 208 persons presenting clinical signs of dengue fever which were confirmed by diagnostic and 133 Healthy Controls. Genotyping for the CD209 variant (-336 A/G, rs4804803) was carried out using TaqMan SNP Genotyping Assays. Haplotype frequencies were inferred and compared between the study groups. Results: The percentage of men was 61.88% (211/341) and 38.12% (130/341) for women. The highest frequency of dengue fever (77.42%) was noted in patients with age between 20 to 40 years. Around 1.52% of the study population was positive for HIV, 40.55% were carriers of HBV and 3.83% of HCV. Genotype distribution of the CD209 variant (-336 A/G, rs4804803) was in Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium in both patients and controls. The frequency of allele A was higher than allele G;however, statistical analyses showed that there is no significant difference in genotypes GG, AG and AA in patients and controls. Conclusion: This related no significant association with dengue for the variant of ?336 A/G in the DC-SIGN gene in an Ouagadougou population. However, our results offered the SNP frequencies in a West African population, which might be useful for the study of ethnic groups.

目前菜籽蛋白（Brassica napus L.）只用于动物饲料,尽管它对于人类营养也有很大的潜力。我们试图通过测量15N-菜籽蛋白在人类肠内真实消化率和餐后蛋白纯利用率评估油菜籽蛋白营养品质。每位志愿者肠内配备一肠内管在空肠水平（n=5）或回肠水平（n=7）时摄入含27.3g15N菜籽蛋白和2.93MJ的能量成分。由餐后定期采得的肠液、尿、血样来定量摄入的N水平。菜籽蛋白肠内真实消化率84.0±8.8%。摄入的N在n=5时多数是未消化蛋白形式。芥菜型油菜和甘蓝型油菜蛋白片断都对蛋白水解有抗性。肠内N损失为2.2g/d。通过饮食摄入的氨水平没有显著增加。餐后N的分配:尿中的尿素和氨为5.4±1.8%,汗液中的尿素为8.2±3.4%,血浆蛋白中为7.7±2.0%。菜籽餐后蛋白纯利用率（NPPU）为70.5±9.6%。postprandial biological value较高:83.8±4.6%。菜籽蛋白在人体肠内不仅比其它植物蛋白消化率低,而且去氨比率低。因此,从菜籽摄入的氮在人体内保持力高,与奶蛋白氮相同。得出结论:菜籽蛋白对人类营养有很大潜力。

Detection of Low-Risk and High-Risk Oncogenic Human Papillomavirus in Archived Tissues from ENT Tumors in Burkina Faso

Human papillomavirus (HPV) is classified into high-risk HPV (HR-HPV) and HPV (LR-HPV) according to their oncogenic potential. These viruses can be found in the cervix, vagina, vulva, anus and in the ENT sphere. HPV ENT infections can lead to benign or malignant tumors in which we could find both LR-HPV and HR-HPV genotypes. The objective of this study was to investigate the genotypes of HR-HPV and LR-HPV in archived tissue samples derived from both benign and malignant tumors of the ear, nose, and throat (ENT) in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. One hundred and twenty formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded archived tissues of the ENT sphere from 26 benign tumors and 94 malignant tumors were included. The tissues were first deparaffinized with xylem. The extracted DNA was used to test for high-risk and low-risk HPV by Real-Time Multiplex PCR. HPV DNA was found in 57.7% (15/26) of benign tumors and 43.61% (41/94) of malignant tumors. The prevalence of HPV infection was 46.67% (56/120) in all tumors combined. The most common HPV genotypes found were HPV 11 (34.28%), HPV 6 (30%), HPV56 (14.28%) and HPV 33 (8.57%). There were 21.43% (12/56) cases of genotypes co-infections with 10 cases of double infection and 2 cases of triple infection. Both low-risk and high-risk HPV are found in ENT tumors with relatively high HPV prevalence.

Background and Objective: HIV infection is often associated with HBV and HCV infection, together leading to high morbidity and mortality in developing countries. The objective of this study is to describe the clinical, biological, immunological and therapeutic profile of patients co-infected with HIV-HBV and/or HCV. Methods: A cross-sectional and descriptive study including 180 people living with HIV (PLWHIV) in the city of Kinshasa province was conducted. Socio-demographic, clinical, biological and serological characteristics were analyzed. Results: The frequency of HIV-HBV/HCV co-infection was 23.9%. The distribution of age and sex of patients did not differ significantly according to co-infection status. The notion of pedicure and manicure was significantly more observed in patients free from viral hepatitis (51.1% versus 32.6%, p = 0.034). The median duration of knowledge of the HIV status which was longer in the co-infected (4 years versus 2 years, p = 0.022). A lower median level of GPT was observed in co-infected compared to other patients (14 IU/L versus 20 IU/L, p = 0.041). Serum albumin (3.1 g/L versus 3.3 g/L, p = 0.034) and prothrombin (58.3% versus 65.6%, p = 0.045) were lower in HIV co-infected-VHB and/or VHC. The median INR was higher in co-infected than in other patients (1.6 versus 1.4;p = 0.009). Patients without therapy Antiretroviral (TARV) medication were more numerous in co-infected (20.9% versus 8.0%, p = 0.025). Conclusions: The profile of PLWHIV was dominated by the presence of pedicures and manicures with high transaminases and without anti-viral treatment.
