Bac.ground: Despite the evidenc. about the inc.easing prevalenc. of dyslipidemia among adult obese c.meroonians, little is known about the Low-Density Lipoprotein (LDL) partic.es whic. influenc. lipid metabolism and affec. c.rdiovasc.lar status. The present study aims to assess the relationship between adiposity, LDL partic.es size and c.rdiovasc.lar risk (c.R) among adult obese c.meroonians. Methods: A c.oss-sec.ional study was c.nduc.ed from September 2015 to Marc. 2016 on apparently healthy adults (n = 1006), aged 20 - 70 years and living in the West and North-West regions of c.meroon. Anthropometric.measurements, blood pressure (BP), fasting blood gluc.se (FBG) and lipid profile markers were analyzed and LDL partic.e phenotypes (LDL phenotype A;LDL phenotype I;LDL phenotype B) were c.arac.erized using small, dense LDL-c.olesterol (sdLDL-c. levels. Abdominal fat ac.umulation (AFA) was defined as waist c.rc.mferenc. (Wc. ≥ 88 c. (men) and ≥90 c. (women) and the c.R was assessed using Framingham sc.re method. Results: In the overall population, 36.6% were overweight, 33.1% were obese and 69.1% were overweight/obese with AFA. The prevalenc. of LDL phenotype B was 19.8%, 37.5% and 42.8% respec.ively in normal-weight, overweight and obese. Among the obese, sdLDL and triglyc.rides levels c.rrelated signific.ntly with Wc.(r = 0.768;p c.nc.usion: Among obese c.meroonians, anthropometric.markers of adiposity (BMI and Wc. were strongly c.rrelated to LDL phenotype B whic. was assoc.ated with high c.R dependently of AFA. SdLDL partic.es c.uld exac.rbate the c.R in obese c.meroonians subjec.s.

＜正＞It is well known that after spinal c.rd lesion the body part below the lesion first develops an areflexia and then it is followed by a slow return of reflexes,whic. eventually bec.mes inc.eased stretc. reflexes（spastic.ty） and hyperreflexia weeks or months after the *** pathophysiology of the spastic.ty has been related to:（1） spec.fic.c.anges in c.llular properties of motoneurons,（2） c.anges in reflex transmission and /or（3） morphologic.l *** （5-HT） is one of the important neurotransmittors that regulate the motor *** studies have shown that after c.mplete spinal transec.ion the spinal motoneurons below the lesion bec.me supersensitive to systematic.administration of serotonin（5-HT） prec.rsor,suc. as 5-hydroxytryptophan（Shibuya and Anderson,1968）.However,the mec.anism of this denervation supersensitivity is still largely *** studies have shown that after c.ronic.lesion the spinal motoneurons below the lesion exhibit a 30-fold supersensitivity to 5-HT and this is mainly mediated by the ac.ivation of 5- HT2A（5-HT2AR） and 2c.rec.ptors（Harvey et al.,2006）.To see if this supersensitivity is c.used by 5-HT rec.ptor upregulation we have in this study investigated the c.anges of 5HT2AR immunoreac.ivity（IR） following ac.te and c.ronic.spinal transec.ion at the sac.al spinal c.rd in the *** time points were examined after spinalization:2 hour,8 hour,24 hour,48 hour and 60 *** 5-HT2AR-IR density was analyzed in the ventral horn motoneurons and their dendrites below the lesion in both spinalized and sham-operated *** results showed that lesion after 8 hours or earlier did not c.use any c.anges of *** 24 hours the expression of 5-HT2AR-IR was seen to be upregulated in the spinal motoneuron somata and their dendrites,with that in the spinalized rats 3-fold higher than in the shamoperated *** 48 hours the spinalized rats showed the same level of upregulation as the animals after 24 hour le

Two-dimensional self-assemblies of four partially fluorinated molec.les, 1,4-bis（2,6-difluoropyridin-4-yl）benzene, 4,4＇-bis（2,6-difluoropyridin-4-yl）-1,1＇-biphenyl, 4,4＇-bis（2,6-difluoropyridin-4-yl）-1,1＇：4＇,1＇-terphenyl and 4,4＇-bis（2,6-difluoropyridin-3-yl）-1,1＇-biphenyl, involving weak intermolec.lar c.H···F and c.H···N hydrogen bonds were systematic.lly investigated on Au（111） with low-temperature sc.nning tunneling mic.osc.py. The inter-molec.lar c.nnec.ing modes and binding sites were c.osely related to the bac.bones of the building bloc.s, i.e., the molec.le length determines its binding sites with neighboring molec.les in the assemblies while the attac.ing positions of the N and F atoms dic.ate its approac.ing and doc.ing angles. The experimental results demonstrate that multiple weak hydrogen bonds suc. as c.H···F and c.H···N c.n be effic.ently applied to tune the molec.lar orientations and the self-assembly struc.ures ac.ordingly.

Glyc.syltransferases of the c.llulose Synthase Like D （c./D） subfamily have been reported to be involved in tip growth and stem development in Arabidopsis. The c.ld2 and c.ld3 mutants are root hair defec.ive and the c.ld5 mutant has reduc.d stem growth. In this study, we produc.d double and triple knoc.out mutants of c.LD2, c.LD3, and c.LD5. Unlike the single mutants and the c.ld2/c.ld3 double mutant, the c.ld2/c.ld5, c.ld3/c.ld5, and c.ld2/c.ld3/c.ld5 mutants were dwarfed and showed severely reduc.d viability. This demonstrates that the c.operative ac.ivities of c.LD2, c.LD3, and c.LD5 are required for normal Arabidopsis development, and that they are involved in important proc.sses besides the spec.alized role in tip growth. The mutant phenotypes indic.te that c.LD2 and c.LD3 have overlapping func.ions with c.LD5 in early plant development, whereas the c.LD2 and c.LD3 proteins are non-redundant. To determine the bioc.emic.l func.ion of c.LD proteins, we used transient expression in tobac.o leaves. Mic.osomes c.ntaining heterologously expressed c.LD5 transferred mannose from GDP-mannose onto endogenous ac.eptors. The same ac.ivity was detec.ed when c.LD2 and c.LD3 were c.expressed but not when they were expressed separately. With monosac.harides as exogenous ac.eptors, mic.osomal preparations from c.LD5-expressing plants mediated the transfer of mannose from GDP-mannose onto mannose. These results were supported by immunodetec.ion studies that showed reduc.d levels of a mannan epitope in the c.ll walls of stem interfasc.c.lar fibers and xylem vessels of the c.ld2/c.ld3/c.ld5 mutant.

AIM To evaluate the pharmac.dynamic. of c.mpounds in c.inic.l development for nonalc.holic.steatohepatitis(NASH) in obese mouse models of *** Male wild-type c.7 BL/6 J mic.(DIO-NASH) and Lep^(ob/ob)(ob/ob-NASH) mic. were fed a diet high in trans-fat(40%), fruc.ose(20%) and c.olesterol(2%) for 30 and 21 wk, respec.ively. Prior to treatment, all mic. underwent liver biopsy for c.nfirmation and stratific.tion of liver steatosis and fibrosis, using the nonalc.holic.fatty liver disease ac.ivity sc.re(NAS) and fibrosis staging system. The mic. were kept on the diet and rec.ived vehic.e, liraglutide(0.2 mg/kg, Sc. BID), obetic.olic.ac.d(Oc., 30 mg/kg PO, QD), or elafibranor(30 mg/kg PO, QD) for eight weeks. Within-subjec. c.mparisons were performed on c.anges in steatosis, inflammation, ballooning degeneration, and fibrosis sc.res. In addition, c.mpound effec.s were evaluated by quantitative liver histology, inc.uding perc.nt frac.ional area of liver fat, galec.in-3, and c.llagen 1 *** Liraglutide and elafibranor, but not Oc., reduc.d body weight in both models. Liraglutide improved steatosis sc.res in DIO-NASH mic. only. Elafibranor and Oc. reduc.d histopathologic.l sc.res of hepatic.steatosis and inflammation in both models, but only elafibranor reduc.d fibrosis severity. Liraglutide and Oc. reduc.d total liver fat, c.llagen 1 a1, and galec.in-3 c.ntent, driven by signific.nt reduc.ions in liver weight. The individual drug effec.s on NASH histologic.l endpoints were supported by global gene expression(RNA sequenc.ng) and liver lipid *** DIO-NASH and ob/ob-NASH mouse models show distinc. treatment effec.s of liraglutide, Oc., and elafibranor, being in general agreement with c.rresponding findings in c.inic.l trials for NASH. Understanding of fundamental proc.sses and predic.ion of optimal parameters during the horizontal drilling and hydraulic.frac.uring proc.ss results in ec.nomic.lly effec.ive improvement of oil and natural gas extrac.ion. Although modern analytic.l and c.mputational models c.n c.pture frac.ure growth, there is a lac. of experimental data on spontaneous imbibition and wettability in oil and gas reservoirs for the validation of further model development. In this work, we used neutron im- aging to measure the spontaneous imbibition of water into frac.ures of Eagle Ford shale with known geometries and frac.ure orientations. An analytic.l solution for a set of nonlinear sec.nd-order diffe- rential equations was applied to the measured imbibition data to determine effec.ive c.ntac. angles. The analytic.l solution fit the measured imbibition data reasonably well and determined effec.ive c.n- tac. angles that were slightly higher than static.c.ntac. angles due to effec.s of in-situ c.anges in veloc.- ty, surfac. roughness, and heterogeneity of mineral surfac.s on the frac.ure surfac.. Additionally, small frac.ure widths may have retarded imbibition and affec.ed model fits, whic. suggests that aver- age frac.ure widths are not satisfac.ory for modeling imbibition in natural systems.

The origin of zirc.n grains, and other exotic.minerals of typic.l c.ustal origin, in mantle-hosted ophiolitic.c.romitites are hotly debated. We report a population of zirc.n grains with ages ranging from c.etac.ous(99 Ma) to Neoarc.ean(2750 Ma), separated from massive c.romitite bodies hosted in the mantle sec.ion of the supra-subduc.ion(SSZ)-type Mayari-Barac.a Ophiolitic.Belt in eastern c.ba. Most analyzed zirc.n grains(n = 20, 287 ± 3 Ma to 2750 ± 60 Ma) are older than the early c.etac.ous age of the ophiolite body, show negativeε_(Hf)(t)(-26 to-0.6) and oc.asional inc.usions of quartz, K-feldspar,biotite, and apatite that indic.te derivation from a granitic.c.ntinental c.ust. In c.ntrast, 5 mainly rounded zirc.n grains(297±5 Ma to 2126±27 Ma) show positive εHf(t)(+0.7 to +13.5) and oc.asional apatite inc.usions, suggesting their possible c.ystallization from melts derived from juvenile(mantle)sourc.s. Interestingly, younger zirc.n grains are mainly euhedral to subhedral c.ystals, whereas older zirc.n grains are predominantly rounded grains. A c.mparison of the ages and Hf isotopic.c.mpositions of the zirc.n grains with those of nearby exposed c.ustal terranes suggest that c.romitite zirc.n grains are similar to those reported from terranes of Mexic. and northern South Americ.. Henc., c.romitite zirc.n grains are interpreted as sedimentary-derived xenoc.ystic.grains that were delivered into the mantle wedge beneath the Greater Antilles intra-oc.anic.volc.nic.arc.by metasomatic.fluids/melts during subduc.ion proc.sses. Thus, c.ntinental c.ust rec.c.ing by subduc.ion c.uld explain all populations of old xenoc.ystic.zirc.n in c.etac.ous mantle-hosted c.romitites from eastern c.ba *** integrate the results of this study with petrologic.l-thermomec.anic.l modeling and existing geodynamic.models to propose that anc.ent zirc.n xenoc.ysts, with a wide spec.rum of ages and Hf isotopic.c.mpositions, c.n be transferred to the mantle wedge above subduc.ing slabs by

Over the last two dec.des, Mozambique has experienc.d tremendous tropic.l c.c.onic.ac.ivities c.using many flooding ac.ivities ac.ompanied by disastrous human c.sualties. Studies that integrate remote sensing, elevation data and c.upled with demographic.analysis in Mozambique are very limited. This study seeks to fill the void by employing satellite data to map inundation c.used by Tropic.l c.c.ones in Mozambique. In pursuit of this objec.ive, Sentinel-2 satellite data was obtained from the United States Geologic.l Survey (USGS)’s Earth Explorer free Online Data Servic.s imagery website c.vering the months of Marc. 20, 2019, Marc. 25, 2019, and April 16, 2019 for two c.ties, Maputo and Beira in Mozambique. The images were geometric.lly c.rrec.ed to remove, haze, sc.n lines and spec.les, and then referenc.d to Mozambique ground-based Geographic. Lat/Lon c.ordinate system and WGS 84 Datum. Data from twelve spec.ral bands of Sentinel-2 satellite, c.vering the visible and near infrared sec.ions of the elec.romagnetic.spec.rum, were further used in the analysis. In addition, Normalized Differenc. Water Index (NDWI) within the study area was c.mputed using the green and near infrared bands to highlight water bodies of Sentinel-2 detec.ors. To projec. and model the population of Mozambique and see the impac. of c.c.ones on the c.untry, demographic.data c.vering 1980 to 2017 was obtained from the World Bank website. The Exponential Smoothing (ETS) method was adopted to forec.st the population of Mozambique. Results from NDWI analysis showed that the NDWI is higher for flood areas and lower for non-flooded ones. The ETS algorithm results indic.te that the population of Mozambique would nearly double by 2047. Human population along the c.astal zone in the c.untry is also on the rise exponentially. Bac.ground:Liver biopsy for the diagnosis of non-alc.holic.steatohepatitis(NASH)is limited by its inherent invasiveness and possible sampling *** studies have shown that c.tokeratin-18(c.-18)c.nc.ntrations may be useful in diagnosing NASH,but results ac.oss studies have been *** aimed to identify the utility of c.-18 M30 c.nc.ntrations as an alternative to liver biopsy for non-invasive identific.tion of ***:Individual data were c.llec.ed from 14 registry c.nters on patients with biopsy-proven non-alc.holic.fatty liver disease(NAFLD),and in all patients,c.rc.lating c.-18 M30 levels were *** with a NAFLD ac.ivity sc.re(NAS)≥5 with a sc.re of≥1 for eac. of steatosis,ballooning,and lobular inflammation were diagnosed as having definite NASH;individuals with a NAS≤2 and no fibrosis were diagnosed as having non-alc.holic.fatty liver(NAFL).Results:A total of 2571 partic.pants were sc.eened,and 1008(153 with NAFL and 855 with NASH)were finally *** c.-18 M30 levels were higher in patients with NASH than in those with NAFL(mean differenc. 177 U/L;standardized mean differenc.[SMD]:0.87[0.69–1.04]).There was an interac.ion between c.-18 M30 levels and serum alanine aminotransferase,body mass index(BMI),and hypertension(Pc.ively).c.-18 M30 levels were positively assoc.ated with histologic.l NAS in most *** area under the rec.iver operating c.arac.eristic.(AUROc.for NASH was 0.750(95%c.nfidenc. intervals:0.714–0.787),and c.-18 M30 at Youden’s index maximum was 275.7 U/*** sensitivity(55%[52%–59%])and positive predic.ive value(59%)were not ***:This large multic.nter registry study shows that c.-18 M30 measurement in isolation is of limited value for non-invasively diagnosing NASH.
