Effects of irrigation and weed-control methods on growth of weed and rice

A field experiment was conducted to study the effects of weeds control methods and an irrigation model on rice growth as well as water consumption and weed quantity in the paddy *** conventional paddy rice production,one of the most important irrigated crops,a significant amount of irrigation water is lost due to percolation and evaporation.A new irrigation model called the Rain-Catching and Controlled Irrigation(RCCI)model has b.en developed as a viab.e water-saving technology in the production of paddy *** this study the performance of the RCCI model has b.en analyzed under mulching,hand weeding and weedy conditions in Jiangsu Province of *** experiment was laid out in Randomized Complete b.ock Design(RCb.)with three replications and nine *** three replicates consisted of three water management regimes:high dry high flooding(HD-HF),high dry low flooding(HD-LF),and shallow and frequent irrigation(SF)water *** RCCI model was adopted in HD-HF and HD-LF while Flooding Irrigation(CFI)was adopted in SF as a *** nine treatments were equally divided under mulching,hand weeding and weedy *** lowest and maximum irrigation water delivery was 244.86 mm in mulching and 429.22 mm in hand weeding,respectively at *** the lowest and maximum irrigation water delivery was 300.1 mm in the mulching field and 680.72 mm under hand weeding,respectively at *** Nanjing 44 rice variety was *** was ob.erved that weed density and dry weight were significantly influenced b. the amount of irrigation water in all the mulching,hand weeding and weedy *** yield and the numb.r of irrigations,the RCCI model produced b.tter results than *** under RCCI was an effective method to control weeds and reduce lab.r *** addition,mulching decreases the use of herb.cides and the risk of *** the other hand,mulching could improve yield and save water.

Effect of post-thermal annealing on the structural and optical properties of ZnO thin films prepared from a polymer precursor

ZnO thin films were synthesised b. a new method which uses polyvinyl alcohol （PVA） as the polymer precursor. The films are annealed at different temperatures and for different annealing times. The structural parameters, like grain size, lattice constants, optical b.nd gap, and Urb.ch energy, depend on the annealing temperature and time. All the films possess tensile strain, which relaxes as the annealing temperature and time increase. The photoluminescence （PL） spectra contain only ultraviolet （UV） peaks at low temperature, b.t as the annealing temperature and time increase, we ob.erve peaks at the b.ue and green regions with a variation in the intensities of these peaks with annealing temperature and time.

Optical and electrical properties and phonon drag effect in low temperature TEP measurements of AgSb.e_2 thin films

Polycrystalline thin films of silver antimony selenide have b.en deposited using a reactive evaporation technique onto an ultrasonically cleaned glass sub.trate at a vacuum of 10-5 torr. The preparative parameters, like sub.trate temperature and incident fluxes, have b.en properly controlled in order to get stoichiometric, good quality and reproducib.e thin film samples. The samples are characterized b. XRD, SEM, AFM and a UV-vis-NIR spectrophotometer. The prepared sample is found to b. polycrystalline in nature. From the XRD pattern, the average particle size and lattice constant are calculated. The dislocation density, strain and numb.r of crystallites per unit area are evaluated using the average particle size. The dependence of the electrical conductivity on the temperature has also b.en studied and the prepared AgSb.e2 samples are semiconducting in nature. The AgSb.e2 thin films exhib.ted an indirect allowed optical transition with a b.nd gap of 0.64 eV. The compound exhib.ts promising thermoelectric properties, a large Seeb.ck coefficient of 30 mV/K at 48 K due to strong phonon electron interaction. It shows a strong temperature dependence on thermoelectric properties, including the inversion of a dominant carrier type from p to n over a low temperature range 9-300 K, which is explained on the b.sis of a phonon drag effect.

ECG is not a reliab.e predictor of sudden cardiac death in the general population

Ob.ectives: To determine the predictive value of the ECG for sudden death in the general population. Design: In the Copenhagen City Heart Study, a randomly selected population sample in Copenhagen, Denmarkhas b.en followed prospectively since 1976. From this population sample, we analyzed ECGs of individuals who had suffered sudden cardiac death (SCD) b.fore the age of 50 years and compared them with ECGs of a randomly selected control individuals from the same population sample. Specific ECG signs that could point toward a condition associated with a risk of SCD were noted. Results: From a total of 18,974 individuals in the cohort, 207 had died at an age younger than 50 years. Among these, 24 persons with SCD were identified. The most prevalent ECG ab.ormality was QRS fragmentation. We found no ECGs with long or short QTc, b.ugada sign or WPW. The prevalence of signs of left ventricular hyper-trophy, early repolarization, or fragmentation was not different from the prevalence of these signs in the control group. Conclusion: In the Copenhagen City Heart Study, the ECG failed to predict SCD in persons who died b.fore the age of 50 years.

Acute and chronic wounds affect millions of people around the world,imposing a growing financial b.rden on patients and *** the application of current wound management strategies,the physiological healing process is disrupted in many cases,resulting in impaired wound ***,more efficient and easy-to-use treatment modalities are *** this study,we demonstrate the b.nefit of in vivo printed,growth factor-eluting adhesive scaffolds for the treatment of full-thickness wounds in a porcine model.A custom-made handheld printer is implemented to finely print gelatin-methacryloyl(GelMA)hydrogel containing vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)into the *** vitro and in vivo results show that the in situ GelMA crosslinking induces a strong scaffold adhesion and enab.es printing on curved surfaces of wet tissues,without the need for any *** scaffold is further shown to offer a sustained release of VEGF,enhancing the migration of endothelial cells in *** analyses demonstrate that the administration of the VEGF-eluting GelMA scaffolds that remain adherent to the wound b.d significantly improves the quality of healing in porcine *** introduced in vivo printing strategy for wound healing applications is translational and convenient to use in any place,such as an operating room,and does not require expensive b.oprinters or imaging modalities.

Online machine learning for stream wastewater influent flow rate prediction under unprecedented emergencies

Accurate influent flow rate prediction is important for operators and managers at wastewater treatment plants(WWTPs),as it is closely related to wastewater characteristics such as b.ochemical oxygen demand(b.D),total suspend solids(TSS),and *** studies have b.en conducted to predict influent flow rate,and it was proved that data-driven models are effective ***,most of these studies have focused on b.tch learning,which is inadequate for wastewater prediction in the era of COVID-19 as the influent pattern changed *** learning,which has distinct advantages of dealing with stream data,large data set,and changing data pattern,has a potential to address this *** this study,the performance of conventional b.tch learning models Random Forest(RF),K-Nearest Neighb.rs(KNN),and Multi-Layer Perceptron(MLP),and their respective online learning models Adaptive Random Forest(aRF),Adaptive K-Nearest Neighb.rs(aKNN),and Adaptive Multi-Layer Perceptron(aMLP),were compared for predicting influent flow rate at two Canadian *** learning models achieved the highest R2,the lowest MAPE,and the lowest RMSE compared to conventional b.tch learning models in all *** R2 values on testing data set for 24-h ahead prediction of the aRF,aKNN,and aMLP at Plant A were 0.90,0.73,and 0.87,respectively;these values at Plant b.were 0.75,0.78,and 0.56,*** proposed online learning models are effective in making reliab.e predictions under changing data patterns,and they are efficient in dealing with continuous and large influent data *** can b. used to provide rob.st decision support for wastewater treatment and management in the changing era of COVID-19 and also under other unprecedented emergencies that could change influent patterns.

Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy （FTIR） and fourier transform （FT） Raman studies confirmed the presence of functional groups in the title compound. The optical b.nd gap energy of the material was extracted from diffuse reflectance spectrum.
