BACKGROUND:Adequate airway management plays an important role in high-quality cardiopulmonary resuscitation(CPR).Airway management is usually performed using an endotracheal tube(ETT)during ***,no study has assessed the effect of ETT size on the fl ow rate and airway pressure during ***:We measured changes in peak inspiratory fl ow rate(PIFR),peak airway pressure(Ppeak),and mean airway pressure(Pmean)according to changes in ETT size(internal diameter 6.0,7.0,and 8.0 mm)and with or without CPR.A tidal volume of 500 mL was supplied at a rate of 10 times per minute using a mechanical *** compressions were maintained at a constant compression depth and speed using a mechanical chest compression device(LUCAS2,mode:active continuous,chest compression rate:102±2/minute,chest compression depth 2–2.5 inches).RESULTS:The median of several respiratory physiological parameters during CPR was significantly different according to the diameter of each ETT(6.0 vs.8.0 mm):PIFR(32.1 L/min[30.5–35.3]vs.28.9 L/min[27.5–30.8],P<0.001),Ppeak(48.84 cmH2O[27.46–52.11]vs.27.45 cmH2O[22.53–52.57],P<0.001),and Pmean(18.34 cmH2O[14.61–21.66]vs.13.66 cmH2O[8.41–19.24],P<0.001).CONCLUSION:The changes in PIFR,Ppeak,and Pmean were related to the internal diameter of ETT,and these values tended to decrease with an increase in ETT *** airway pressures were measured in the CPR group than in the no CPR group.

The present paper deals with the behavior of the Attached Microbial Community (AMC) for water self-purification at different riverbeds in a typical local river. The study quantitatively investigated the problem starting with in-situ sampling. It was found that more biomass of AMC was at riffles with wider distribution than in pools. High current velocity (HCV) plays a negative role at the initial stage of attachment on the riverbed, but HCV aids the community proliferation after stable attachment. External disturbances such as rainfalls and discharges from dams or reservoirs would detach the periphyton depending on the intensity of turbulence in water. However, it was discovered that the flock of periphyton could be restored very quickly because it was not completely removed. Thus, in order to enhance self-purification by periphyton, a suitable configuration of the riverbed must be constructed, and occasional appropriate repair along the channels would improve the decontamination of the river.

Sucrose is produced in mesophyll cells and transferred into phloem cells before it is delivered long- distance to sink tissues. However, little is known about how sucrose transport is regulated in plants. Here, we identified a T-DNA insertional mutant of Oryza sativa DNA BINDING WITH ONE FINGER 11 （OsDOF11）, which is expressed in the vascular cells of photosynthetic organs and in various sink tissues. The osdofll mutant plants are semi-dwarf and have fewer tillers and smaller panicles as compared with wild-type （WT） plants. Although sucrose enhanced root elongation in young WT seedlings, this enhance- ment did not occur in osdof11 seedlings due to reduced sucrose uptake. Sugar transport rate analyses revealed that less sugar was transported in osdofll plants than in the WT. Expression of four Sucrose Transporter （SUT） genes-OsSUT1, OsSUT3, OsSUT4, and OsSUT5-as well as two Sugars Will Eventually be Exported Transporters （SWEET） genes, OsSWEETll and OsSWEET14, was altered in various organs of the mutant, including the leaves. Chromatin immunoprecipitation assays showed that OsDOFll directly binds the promoter regions of SUT1, OsSWEETll, and OsSWEET14, indicating that the expression of these transporters responsible for sucrose transport via apopiastic loading is coordinately controlled by OsDOFll. We also observed that osdofll mutant plants were less susceptible to infection byXanthomonas oryzae pathovar oryzae, suggesting that OsDOFll participates in sugar distribution during pathogenic in- vasion. Collectively, these results suggest that OsDOFll modulates sugar transport by regulating the expression of both SUT and SWEET genes in rice.

An 8-week feeding trial was conducted to determine the optimal dietary protein level for juvenile marbled *** semi-purified test diets were formulated to contain different protein levels(CP)including 42.7%,47.4%,53.3%,58.8%,and 64.5%(dry matter),named as CP42.7,CP47.4,CP53.3,CP58.8,and CP64.5,*** hundred and twenty-five juveniles(6.0±0.1 g)were randomly distributed into 15 tanks(300 L tanks),resulting in 35 fish per tank(n-3 tanks).Fish were fed the test diets 5 times per day until *** CP58.8 resulted in the highest gain in weight and the best efficiency in feed utilization among the tested protein levels(Pjuvenile marbled flounder.

Particle shape has been recognized as one of the key properties of nanoparticles in biomedical applications including targeted drug *** ability of shape-engineered particles depends largely on targeting ligands conjugated on the particle ***,poor capacity for surface ligand conjugation remains a problem in anisotropic nanoparticles made with biodegradable polymers such as *** this study,we prepared anisotropic PLGA nanoparticles with abundant conjugatable surface functional groups by a film stretching-based fabrication method with poly(ethylene-alt-maleic acid)(PEMA).Scanning electron microscopy images showed that microrods and nanorods were successfully fabricated by the PEMA-based film stretching *** presence of surface carboxylic acid groups was confirmed by confocal microscopy and zeta potential *** the improved film-stretching method,the amount of protein conjugated to the surface of nanorods was increased ***-conjugated,nanorods fabricated by the improved method exhibited higher binding and internalization than unmodified ***,the PEMA-based film-stretching system presented in this study would be a promising fabrication method for non-spherical biodegradable polymeric micro-and nanoparticles with high capacity of surface modifications for enhanced targeted delivery.

The tea culture of royal court has a special significance as it represents the culture of the *** tea culture of Korean royal court has been described in various historical documents including the Memorabilia of Three Kingdoms,the History of Goryeo,and the Chronology of joseon *** historical documents indicate an increasing sophistication of royal court tea culture as the use of tea became expanded through the periods of Three Kingdoms,Goryeo Kingdom and joseon *** tea was offered during ancestral and religious rituals;served as ceremonial drinks;and offered to guests in ceremonial *** procedures of these tea ceremonies were ritualized and codified to properly reflect decorum and propriety of the royal *** paper examines historical references of royal court tea culture of Korea over the periods of Three Kingdoms,Goryeo Kingdom and joseon *** from this paper can promote further research on the development of royal court tea culture in Asian countries.

Runaway Electron Suppression by ECRH and RMP in KSTAR

We have observed reduction of the runaway electron synchrotron radiation, hard X-ray （HXR） intensity, and HXR energy after applying 110 GHz 2nd harmonic electron cyclotron resonant heating （ECRH） during runaway electron （RE） discharges at low density with startup runaway electrons. However, we did not see a significant reduction of X-rays from 170 GHz 2nd harmonic ECRH at a higher field. A recently installed IR TV camera was used to observe the forward cone of synchrotron radiation from high energy REs in KSTAR. We have observed changes to the synchrotron images and reduction of the HXR by application of resonant magnetic perturbations （RMP） from in-vessel control coils （IVCC） installed inside KSTAR in the n----1 configuration.

The ride vibration of a tractor is affected mostly by the stiffness and damping coefficient of the seat suspension,cabin suspension,cabin rubber mounts,and rubber ***,in the case of rubber tractor tires,the stiffnesses and damping coefficients have not been researched adequately thus far,and it is not simple to measure these *** this study,a method for measuring and analyzing the stiffnesses and damping coefficients of rubber tractor tires,which were the input parameters for the tractor ride vibration simulation,was *** cleat test,proposed in this study,did not require separate and complicated test equipment,unlike the conventional *** test was conducted simply by measuring acceleration under the driving conditions of the vehicle without detaching tires from the vehicle body or setting up additional test *** on the ground-vertical acceleration data obtained,the stiffness was calculated using the logarithmic decrement method,and the damping coefficient was calculated using least squares exponential curve *** result of the cleat test indicated that the front tires had stiffnesses of 486.08-570.69 kN/m and damping coefficients of 4.02-4.52 kN·s/m;the rear tires had stiffnesses of 409.42-483.79 kN/m and damping coefficients of 2.21-2.67 kN·s/*** the test,40 mm height cleats were installed on the track and the speed of the tractor was set to 7 and 10 km/h,which were the most common speeds during the *** study is meaningful in that it has presented a new method that improves the practicality of results,reduces cost,and simplifies the test process for measuring the stiffnesses and damping coefficients of rubber tractor tires.
