Colorectal cancer(CRC)is the second leading cause of cancer-related death *** five-year survival rate of CRC patients depends on the stage at diagnosis,being higher than 80%when CRC is diagnosed in the early stages but lower than 10%when CRC is diagnosed in advanced *** against specific CRC autoantigens(tumor-associated antigens(TAAs))in the sera of patients have been widely demonstrated to aid in early ***,we herein aim to identify autoantigens target of autoantibodies specific to CRC that possess a significant ability to discriminate between CRC patients and healthy individuals by means of liquid *** that end,we examined the protein content of the exosomes released by five CRC cell lines and tissue samples from CRC patients by means of immunoprecipitation coupled with mass spectrometry analysis.A total of 103 proteins were identified as potential autoantigens specific to *** bioinformatics and meta-analysis,we selected 15 proteins that are more likely to be actual CRC autoantigens in order to evaluate their role in CRC prognosis by Western blot(WB)and immunohistochemistry(IHC).We found dysregulation at the protein level for 11 of these proteins in both tissue and plasma exosome samples from patients,along with an association of nine of these proteins with CRC *** validation,all but one showed a statistically significant high diagnostic ability to distinguish CRC patients and individuals with premalignant lesions from healthy individuals,either by luminescence Halotag-based beads,or by a multiplexed biosensing platform involving the use of magnetic microcarriers as solid support modified with covalently immobilized Halotag fusion proteins constructed for CRC *** together,our results highlight the usefulness of the approach defined here to identify the TAAs specific to chronic diseases;they also demonstrate that the measurement of autoantibody levels in plasma against the TAAs identified here

Objective:To translate an intensive care-specific pressure injury risk assessment tool(the COMHON Index)from English into Chinese ***:A four-step approach to instrument translation was utilised:1)English-Mandarin forward-translation by three independent bilinguists;2)Mandarin-English back-translation by two other inde-pendent bilinguists;3)comparison of forward and back-translations,identification of discrepancies,with required amendments returned to step one;and 4)piloting of the translated *** pilot study was undertaken in a Chinese surgical intensive care unit with a convenience sample of 20 nurses.A five-point ordinal scale(1=very difficult;5=very easy)was used to assess ease-of-use and *** were retained where medians4 indicated use and understanding was easy to very ***:Five iterations of steps 1 to 3,and two sets of amendments to the original English instrument,were required to achieve translation consensus prior to pilot *** scoring,sum scoring,and risk categorisation were documented in most pilot assessments(≥80%),but three sum scores were incorrectly *** overall tool and all subscales were easy to use and understand(medians≥4),and most assessments(16/20,80%)took5 min to ***,translations were retained,with minor amendments made to instrument instructions for scoring and risk ***:An easy-to-use Chinese Mandarin intensive care-specific pressure injury risk assessment tool has been introduced through cross-cultural ***,it requires further testing of interrater reliability and agreement.A rigorous translation and reporting exemplar is presented that provides guidance for future translations.

Improving Vehicular Mobility in Urban Traffic Using Ubiquitous Computing

The paper introduces a novel paradigm to use ubiquitous computing in urban traffic control as a methodology to include the benefits of considering physical elements implicated in the environment. This promising idea arises from previous results in the literature, where ubiquitous computing achieves significant and promising results in diverse scenarios. Some works in the state-of- the-art clearly state that traditional traffic light signals are not capable of offering higher service levels when they should control the vehicular mobility because of different constraints. In this sense, the paper proposes an adaptation of the main ideas of ubiquitous computing as a metaphor to facilitate the interaction between users and traffic infrastructures in order to improve the users’ experience on the road.

Increasing Efficiency of an Intelligent Semaphore by Implementing an ID3 Approach in Decision-Making

The main objective of a semaphore is to provide a correct and fluent vehicular mobility. Many countries around the world are using such devices in urban areas. However, the traditional semaphore operative ways are outdated. We report in a previous contribution the development of a methodology capable of improving the vehicular mobility by proposing a new green light interval based on road conditions with a CBR approach. However, this proposal should include whether it is needed to modify such light duration. To do this, the paper proposes the adaptation of an inductive decision tree helping to decide when the semaphore should try to fix the green light interval according to specific road requirements. Some experiments are conducted in a simulated environment to evaluate the pertinence of implementing a decision-making before the CBR methodology. For example, using the ID3 approach the decisions of the system improve almost 8% in a set of 10,000 experiments. Finally, some conclusions are drawn to emphasize the benefits of including this technique in a methodology to implement intelligent semaphores.

Fuzzy Rules to Improve Traffic Light Decisions in Urban Roads

Many researchers around the world are looking for developing techniques or technologies that cover traditional and recent constraints in urban traffic con-trol. Normally, such traffic devices are facing with a large scale of input data when they must to response in a reliable, suitable and fast way. Because of such statement, the paper is devoted to introduce a proposal for enhancing the traffic light decisions. A Comparison of Machine Learning Techniques in the Carpooling Problem

Urban traffic congestion is a severe and widely studied problem over the decade because of the negative impacts. However, in recent years some approaches emerge as proper and suitable solutions. The Carpooling initiative is one of the most representative efforts to propitiate a responsible use of particular vehicles. Thus, the paper introduces a carpooling model considering the users’ preference to reach an appropriate match among drivers and passengers. In particular, the paper conducts a study of 6 of the most avid classified techniques in machine learning to create a model for the selection of travel companions. The experimental results show the models’ precision and assess the best cases using Friedman’s test. Finally, the conclusions emphasize the relevance of the proposed study and suggest that it is necessary to extend the proposal with more drives and passengers’ data.

＜正＞ This study has investigated the potential capability of clonidine-like drugs to inhibit the sympatheticallyinduced vasopressor responses in pithed rats. For this purpose, male Wistar rats were pithed and prepared for measurement of blood pressure and heart rate. Then, the effects of i.v. continuous infusions of saline, clonidine, moxonidine, cirazoline, B-HT 933 or methoxamine were determined on the vasopressor responses induced by either selective electrical stimulation （2 ms. 60 V;0.03-3.0 Hz） of the vascular sympathetic outflow （T7-T9） or i.v. bolus injections of exogenous noradrenaline （0.03-3 μg/kg）. Electrical stimulation elicited frequencydependent increases in diastolic blood pressure, which remained unaffected by saline, but were significantly inhibited by clonidine, moxonidine, cirazoline, B-HT 933 and methoxamine. Interestingly, the vasopressor responses to noradrenaline, which remained unaffected by saline, moxonidine, cirazoline or B-HT 933, were significantly blocked by clonidine and methoxamine. These results suggest that the above inhibition elicited by moxonidine, cirazoline and BHT 933, but not by clonidine, involves a prejunctional sympathoin-hibitory mechanism.

Loss of genetic variability is an increasing challenge in tree breeding programs due to the repeated use of a reduced number of founder ***,in almond,little is known about the genetic variability in current breeding stocks,although several cases of inbreeding depression have been *** gain insights into the genetic structure in modern breeding programs worldwide,marker-verified pedigree data of 220 almond cultivars and breeding selections were *** coefficients,pairwise relatedness,and genetic contribution were calculated for these *** results reveal two mainstream breeding lines based on three cultivars:“Tuono”,“Cristomorto”,and“Nonpareil”.Descendants from“Tuono”or“Cristomorto”number 76(sharing 34 descendants),while“Nonpareil”has 71 *** mean inbreeding coefficient of the analyzed genotypes was 0.041,with 14 genotypes presenting a high inbreeding coefficient,over *** programs from France,the USA,and Spain showed inbreeding coefficients of 0.075,0.070,and 0.037,*** to their genetic contribution,modern cultivars from Israel,France,the USA,Spain,and Australia trace back to a maximum of six main founding *** the group of 65 genotypes carrying the S f allele for self-compatibility,the mean relatedness coefficient was 0.125,with“Tuono”as the main founding genotype(24.7%of total genetic contribution).The results broaden our understanding about the tendencies followed in almond breeding over the last 50 years and will have a large impact into breeding decision-making process *** current genetic variability is required in almond breeding programs to assure genetic gain and continuing breeding progress.

Objective: To assess the value of colour M-mode Doppler of the mitral valve in patients with acute myocardial infarction complicated by pulmonary edema. Design: Case-control, clinical. Setting: Coronary care unit in a university hospital. Patients/Subjects: 28 patients admitted because of acute myocardial infarction, and who developed pulmonary edema(group P, cases); 39 patients with uncomplicated myocardial infarction(group C, controls). Results: Patients in group P showed higher E wave(77± 20 vs. 64± 16 cm/s, p=0.007), E/A ratio(1.5± 1.0 vs. 1.0± 0.4, p=0.014), lower time of deceleration of the E wave(153± 40 vs. 196± 53 ms, p=0.001) and lower Ejection Fraction(35± 10 vs. 49± 11, p< 0.001). There were no differences in the velocity of the colour M-mode Doppler of the mitral valve(Vp: 36.2± 11 vs. 34.0± 12 cm/s). Excluding patients with abnormal relaxation or restrictive pattern of the pulsed Doppler, Vp was identical(group P 34± 10, group C 34± 12). Conclusions: M-mode colour Doppler of the mitral valve was not useful to differentiate patients with acute pulmonary edema complicating myocardial infarction. Measurement of Vp is not warranted as a routine in these patients.

We report 2 patients with documented chronic hepatitis C infection and epidermolysis bullosa acquisita (EBA). Both patients clinically represent classic EBA, exhibiting skin fragility and blistering occurring both spontaneously and secondary to trauma, which heal with milia and scar formation. EBA often is a disease of altered immune status and debility. Further work is necessary to show whether hepatitis C plays a causative role in EBA in these 2 patients and in general.
