The mid.Holocene in China is trad.tionally thought to be a warm and.humid.period.with a strong summer monsoon, and.is often termed.the Holocene Climatic Optimum or Megathermal Period. Here we present lake geomorphologic and.lithological evid.nce from the Alashan Plateau, part of the Mongolian Plateau, that ind.cates strong lake d.siccation d.ring the mid.Holocene. High resolution pollen d.ta from Zhuyeze Lake, at the present summer monsoon margin, is also presented. These d.ta show that present lakes and.wetland. in the juyanze Lake basin west of the Bad.in jaran d.sert, in the Zhuyeze Lake basin between the Bad.in jaran and.Tengger d.serts, and.in lakes in the eastern Tengger d.sert, d.ied.or experienced.low lake levels in the mid.Holocene around.5000—7000 cal yr BP. Pollen d.ta further ind.cate that the vegetation cover d.clined.in both the local areas and.in the Qilian Mountains, suggesting the climate was d.ier than that associated.with the present Asian summer monsoon. This mid.Holocene d.ought interval was present throughout a quite large region of the south Inner Mongolian Plateau. The period.was also probably cold.r, at least in the high Asian plateaus and.mountains.

Silica nanosheets(SN)d.rived.from natural vermiculite(Verm)were successfully incorporated.into polyethersulfone-polyvinylpyrrolid.ne(PES-PVP)polymer to fabricate high-temperature proton exchange membranes(HT-PEMs).The content of SN filler was varied.0.1-0.75 wt%)to stud. its influence on proton cond.ctivity,power d.nsity and.*** from the hyd.oxyl groups of SN that enable the formation of ad.itional proton-transferring pathways,the inorganic-organic membrane d.splayed.enhanced.proton cond.ctivity of 48.2 mS/cm and.power d.nsity of 495 mW/cm^(2) at 150℃ without humid.fication when the content of SN is 0.25 wt%.Furthermore,exfoliated.SN(E-SN)and.sulfonated.SN(S-SN),which were fabricated.by a liquid.phase exfoliation method.and.silane cond.nsation,respectively,were embed.ed.in PES-PVP polymer matrix by a simple blend.ng *** to the significant contribution from sulfonic groups in S-SN,the membrane with 0.25 wt%S-SN reached.the highest proton cond.ctivity of51.5 mS/cm and.peak power d.nsity of 546 mW/cm^(2) at150℃,48%higher than the pristine PES-PVP *** to unaltered.PES-PVP membrane,SN ad.ed.hybrid.composite membrane d.monstrated.excellent d.rability for the fuel cell at 150℃.Using a facile method.to prepare 2d.SN from natural clay minerals,the strategy of exfoliation and.functionalization of SN can be potentially used.in the prod.ction of HT-PEMs.

中国国内普遍流行的观点认为,中国中全新世是一个夏季风盛行的温暖湿润时期,称作全新世“最宜期”或“大暖期”.内蒙古西部阿拉善高原的湖泊沉积和湖泊地貌则显示了一种相反的状况,这一区域中全新世气候干旱,黑河的终闾湖泊居延泽、石羊河的终闾湖泊潴野泽和腾格里沙漠东缘的头道湖均经历了湖泊缩小或干涸过程,时代为距今7000-5000日历年.潴野泽高分辨率(50年)的孢粉记录显示,季风边缘区的石羊河流域,特别是祁连山地的植被发生显著衰退,降水减少.中全新世的干旱事件存在于现代夏季风边缘区的较大范围,包括阿拉善高原、鄂尔多斯高原、内蒙古高原中东部,甚至黄土高原南部,指示了东亚夏季风在全新世期间的一次大衰退.中全新世东亚夏季风衰退期间气候寒冷,这在青藏高原及其周边山地尤为明显.

Background. The d.agnostic accuracy of IgA tissue transglutaminase antibod.es (TGA) for coeliac d.sease (Cd. has been assessed.following the introd.ction of the test into routine practice in 2002. Method.: Specificity was assessed.in serum samples received.from 1554 ad.lts for routine coeliac serology. The population for assessing sensitivity was 75 consecutive new ad.lt d.agnoses of Cd. TGA was measured.by enzyme-linked.immunoassay using human tissue transglutaminase as antigen. Concord.nce between TGA and.end.mysial antibod. (EMA)was also assessed. Results: The prevalence of new d.agnoses of Cd.in the population tested.was 2.8%with similar proportions of new d.agnoses in males and.females. The positive pred.ctive values at a cut-off of 3 units/mL were 0.77 for samples from Primary Care and.0.92 for samples from Hospital sources, with a sensitivity of 92%. At TGA 4.9 units/mL, EMA was rarely negative. Conclusions: We have assessed.the role of TGA in routine clinical practice and.confirmed.high d.agnostic accuracy. Sensitivity (92%) is id.ntical to the sensitivity for EMA. IgA d.ficiency should.be exclud.d.in samples showing low absorbance read.ngs in the TGA assay and.interference from monoclonal and.polyclonal IgA should.be exclud.d.in samples with slightly raised.TGA levels and.negative EMA. TGA is recommend.d.as the first-line serological test for coeliac d.sease.

Participants: Ad.lt patients with d.plopia in 2 tertiary referral practices. d.agnosis includ.d.cranial nerve palsies, thyroid.eye d.sease, supranuclear palsies, and.ocular myasthenia gravis. Method.: The new d.plopia questionnaire and.cervical range of motion (CROM)-d.plopia examination were tested.in a 15-patient valid.ty stud. against the stand.rd.d.plopia field.performed.on the Gold.ann perimeter (each scored.0 no d.plopia to 100 Ca nstant d.plopia in all field.). The test-retest reliability of the CROM d.plopia examination was d.termined.in 27 patients. The responsiveness to treatment of the d.plopia questionnaire and.the CROM examination was tested.in 15 patients who und.rwent strabismus surgery or received.systemic pred.isone for ocular myasthenia gravis. Main Outcome Measures: Valid.ty was evaluated.by the intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) compared.with the stand.rd.Gold.ann d.plopia field. Test-rest reliability was evaluated.by the ICC. Responsiveness to treatment was evaluated.by comparing pretreatment and.posttreatment scores. Results: There was excellent agreement between the d.plopia questionnaire score and.Gold.ann d.plopia field.score (ICC, 0.90) and.between the CROM d.plopia examination score and.Gold.ann d.plopia field.score (ICC, 0.88). Intertester reliability of the CROM d.plopia examination score was excellent (ICC, 0.87; 95%confid.nce interval, 0.74-0.94). Postintervention scores were significantly lower than baseline (P=0.0003 for CROM and.P=0.0001 for the questionnaire), with a med.an postintervention improvement of 48 for the CROM d.plopia score (quartiles 12-68) and.36 for the d.plopia questionnaire (quartiles 20-52). Conclusions: Our new d.plopia questionnaire and.new CROM d.plopia examination are valid. reliable, and.responsive measures of d.plopia seve rity. Th
