Comparative analysis of microstructure,mechanical,and corrosion properties of biodegradable Mg-3Y alloy prepared by selective laser melting and spark plasma sintering

This work explored possibilities of biodegradable magnesium alloy Mg-3Y preparation by two modern powder metallurgy techniques–spark plasma sintering(SPS)and selective laser melting(SLM).The powder material was consolidated by both methods utilising optimised parameters,which led to very low porosity(∼0.3%)in the SLM material and unmeasurably low porosity in the SPS *** main aim of the study was the thorough microstructure characterisation and interrelation between the microstructure and the functional properties,such as mechanical strength,deformability,and corrosion *** materials showed comparable strength of∼110 MPa in tension and compression and relatively good deformability of∼9%and∼21%for the SLM and SPS materials,*** corrosion resistance of the SPS material in 0.1 M NaCl solution was superior to the SLM one and comparable to the conventional extruded *** digital image correlation during loading and the cross-section analysis of the corrosion layers revealed that the residual porosity and large strained grains have the dominant negative effect on the functional properties of the SLM *** the other hand,one of the primary outcomes of this study is that the SPS consolidation method is very effective in the preparation of the W3 biodegradable alloy,resulting in material with convenient mechanical and degradation properties that might find practical applications.

Pedigree and genetic analysis of a novel mutation carrier patient suffering from hereditary nonpolyposis colorectal cancer

AIM： To screen a suspected Hungarian HNPCC family to find specific mutations and to evaluate their effect on the presentation of the disease. METHODS： The family was identified by applying the Amsterdam and Bethesda Criteria. Immunohistochemistry was performed, and DNA samples isolated from tumor tissue were evaluated for microsatellite instability. The identification of possible mutations was carried out by sequencing the hMLH1 and hMSH2 genes. RESULTS： Two different mutations were observed in the index patient and in his family members. The first mutation was located in exon 7, codon 422 of hMSH2, and caused a change from glu to STOP codon. No other report of such a mutation has been published, as far as we could find in the international databases. The second mutation was found in exon 3 codon 127 of the hMSH2 gene, resulting in Asp→Ser substitution. The second mutation was already published, as a non-pathogenic allelic variation. CONCLUSION： The pedigree analysis suggested that the newly detected nonsense mutation in exon 7 of the hMSH2 gene might be responsible for the development of colon cancers. In family members where the exon 7 mutation is not coupled with this missense mutation, colon cancer appears after the age of 40. The association of these two mutations seems to decrease the age of manifestation of the disease into the early thirties.

Structural and molecular features of intestinal strictures in rats with Crohn's-like disease

AIM: To develop a new rat model we wanted to gain a better understanding of stricture formation in Crohn’s disease (CD).METHODS: Chronic colitis was induced locally by the administration of 2,4,6-trinitrobenzenesulfonic acid (TNBS). The relapsing inflammation characteristic to CD was mimicked by repeated TNBS treatments. Animals were randomly divided into control, once, twice and three times TNBS-treated groups. Control animals received an enema of saline. Tissue samples were taken from the strictured colonic segments and also adjacent proximally and distally to its 60, 90 or 120 d after the last TNBS or saline administrations. The frequency and macroscopic extent of the strictures were measured on digital photographs. The structural features of strictured gut wall were studied by light- and electron microscopy. Inflammation related alterations in TgF-beta 2 and 3, matrix metalloproteinases 9 (MMP9) and TIMP1 mRNA and protein expression were determined by quantitative real-time PCR and western blot analysis. The quantitative distribution of caspase 9 was determined by post-embedding ***: Intestinal strictures first appeared 60 d after TNBS treatments and the frequency of them increased up to day 120. From day 90 an intact lamina epithelialis, reversible thickening of lamina muscularis mucosae and irreversible thickening of the muscularis externa were demonstrated in the strictured colonic segments. Nevertheless the morphological signs of apoptosis were frequently seen and excess extracellular matrix deposition was recorded between smooth muscle cells (SMCs). Enhanced caspase 9 expression on day 90 in the SMCs and on day 120 also in myenteric neurons indicated the induction of apoptosis. The mRNA expression profile of TgF-betas after repeated TNBS doses was characteristic to CD, TgF-beta 2, but not TgF-beta 3 was up-regulated. ＜正＞There are very few investigations on best spectrum for mesopic visibility and even less data on the spectrum of discomfort *** have studied these two perceptions and came to the conclusion,that it is not enough to optimise for the combined photopic and scotopic luminosity functions but the chromatic components have to be taken into consideration too. In this paper investigations to determine optimum SPD for mesopic conditions providing good visibility and low glare will be described.

The identification of jets originating from quarks and gluons,often referred to as quark/gluon tagging,plays an important role in various analyses performed at the Large Hadron Collider,as Standard Model measurements and searches for new particles decaying to quarks often rely on suppressing a large gluon-induced *** paper describes the measurement of the efficiencies of quark/gluon taggers developed within the ATLAS Collaboration,using √s=13 TeV proton–proton collision data with an integrated luminosity of 140 fb^(-1) collected by the ATLAS *** taggers with high performances in rejecting jets from gluon over jets from quarks are studied:one tagger is based on requirements on the number of inner-detector tracks associated with the jet,and the other combines several jet substructure observables using a boosted decision tree.A method is established to determine the quark/gluon fraction in data,by using quark/gluon-enriched subsamples defined by the jet *** in tagging efficiency between data and simulation are provided for jets with transverse momentum between 500 geV and 2 TeV and for multiple tagger working points.

To improve the damping capacities of metals and alloys, the microstructures and damping capacities of za27 alloy modified by Zr were studied, and the damping capacities at room tempemture were measured by using cantilever beam techniques. The experiment results show that Zr can refine the Al-rich primary phase and improve the damping Capacities saliently. Compared with the un-modified one, the damping capacity of za27 alloy modified by 0.3wt%Zr received 90 percent increment. The high damping capacities are attributed primarily to grain ablement and the increasing of phase interfaces.

The aim of this paper is to prove the *** of sequences of the Cesaro and Riesz means of the Walsh–Fourier series of d variable integrable *** is,let a=（a1,...,ad）：N→Nd（d∈P）such that aj（n＋1）≥δsupk≤n aj（k）（j=1,...,d,n∈N）for someδ〉0 and a1（＋∞）=···=ad（＋∞）=＋∞.Then,for each integrable function f∈L1（Id）,we have the *** for the Cesaro means limn→∞σαa（n）f=f and for the Riesz means limn→∞σα,γa（n）f=f for any 0〈αj≤1≤γj（j=1,...,d）.A straightforward consequence of our result is the so-called cone restricted *** of the multidimensional Cesaro and Riesz means of integrable functions,which was proved earlier by Weisz.
