ObjectiveTo explore the regulatory effect of Pien Tze Huang (PZH) on targeting partner of NOB1 (PNO1) and it’s down-stream mediators in colorectal cancer (CRC) *** polymerase chain reaction was performed to determine mRNA levels of PNO1, TP53, and CDKN1A. Western blotting was performed to determine protein levels of PNO1, p53, and p21. HCT-8 cells were transduced with a lentivirus over-expressing PNO1. Colony formation assay was used to detect cell survival in PNO1 overexpression of HCT-8 cells after PZH treatment. Cell-cycle distribution, cell viability and cell apoptosis were performed to identify the effect of PNO1 overexpression on cell proliferation and apoptosis of HCT-8 cells after PZH treatment. Xenograft BALB/c nude mice bearing HCT116 cells transduced with sh-PNO1 or sh-Ctrl lentivirus were evaluated. Western blot assay was performed to detect PNO1, p53, p21 and PCNA expression in tumor sections. Terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase dUTP nick end labling (TUNEL) assay was used to determine the apoptotic cells in *** treatment decreased cell viability, down-regulated PNO1 expression, and up-regulated p53 and p21 expressions in HCT-8 cells (P<0.05). PNO1 overexpression attenuated the effects of PZH treatment, including the expression of p53 and p21, cell growth, cell viability, cell cycle arrest and cell apoptosis in vitro (P<0.05). PNO1 knockdown eliminated the effects of PZH treatment on tumor growth, inhibiting cell proliferation inhibition and apoptosis induction in vivo (P<0.05). Similarly, PNO1 knockdown attenuated the effects of PZH treatment on the down-regulation of PNO1 and up-regulation of p53 and p21 in vivo (P<0.05).ConclusionThe mechanism by which PZH induces its CRC anti-proliferative effect is at least in part by regulating the expression of PNO1 and its downstream targets p53 and p21.

Dielectric nanocomposites with superb high-temperature capacitive performance based on high intrinsic dielectric constant polymer

Advancements in power electronics necessitate dielectric polymer films capable of operating at high temperatures and possessing high energy *** significant strides have been achieved by integrating inorganic fillers into high-temperature polymer matrices,the inherently low dielectric constants of these matrices have tempered the magnitude of *** this work,we report an innovative nanocomposite based on sulfonylated polyimide(SPI),distinguished by the incorporation of sulfonyl groups within the SPI backbone and the inclusion of wide bandgap hafnium dioxide(HfO_(2))*** nanocomposite has demonstrated notable enhancements in thermal stability,dielectric properties,and capacitive performance at elevated *** simulations at both molecular and mesoscopic levels have elucidated the mechanisms behind these improvements,which could be attributed to confined segmental motion,an optimized electronic band structure,and a diminished incidence of dielectric breakdown ascribed to the presence of sulfonyl ***,the SPI-HfO_(2)nanocomposite demonstrates a high charge-discharge efficiency of 95.7%at an elevated temperature of 150℃and an applied electric field of 200 MV/***,it achieves a maximum discharged energy density of 2.71 j/cm^(3),signalling its substantial potential for energy storage applications under extreme conditions.

Dear Editor,In this letter,a novel hierarchical fusion framework is proposed to address the imperfect data property in complex medical image analysis(MIA)*** particular,by combining the strengths of convolutional neural networks(CNNs)and transformers,the enhanced feature extraction,spatial modeling,and sequential context learning are realized to provide comprehensive insights on the complex data *** of information in different level is enabled via a multi-attention fusion mechanism,and the tensor decomposition methods are adopted so that compact and distinctive representation of the underlying and high-dimensional medical image features can be accomplished[1].It is shown from the evaluation results that the proposed framework is competitive and superior as compared with some other advanced algorithms,which effectively handles the imperfect property of inter-class similarity and intra-class differences in diseases,and meanwhile,the model complexity is reduced within an acceptable level,which benefits the deployment in clinic *** has assumed a pivotal role in numerous critical clinical scenarios,where sophisticated image analysis techniques have proven instrumental in augmenting medical decision-making,facilitating individualized therapeutic interventions,and enhancing patient prognostication[2]−[4].

The development of degradable and recyclable polymers is an attractive strategy to tackle the post-consumption pollution issue of commercial ***-acyclic monomers metathesis polymerization(CAMMP)has been recently reported to produce degradable thermoset,thermoplastic and elastomeric polymers,and their degradability is enabled with addition of various *** this contribution,we demonstrate that the utilization of diene comonomers containing photodegradable moiety can give access to thermoset and thermoplastic materials bearing photo-degradation *** copolymerization of a series easily accessible diene comonomers bearing photodegradable ortho-nitrobenzyl moieties with dicyclopentadiene(DCPD)or cyclooctene(COE)leads to the formation of photodegradable p DCPD thermosets and p COE thermoplastic polymers with mechanical properties comparable to their non-degradable *** importantly,their photo-degradation properties can be efficiently tuned with the addition of ultraviolet absorber during in-situ polymerization.

Mesoporous molecular sieve confined phase change materials with high absorption,enhanced thermal conductivity,and cooling energy charging/discharging capacity

The biggest challenge for organic phase change materials(PCMs)used in cold energy storage is to maintain high heat storage capacity while reducing the leakage risk of PCMs during the phase transition *** is crucial for expanding their applications in the more demanding cold storage *** this study,novel formstable low-temperature composite PCMs are prepared with mesoporous materials,namely SBA-15 and CMK-3(which are prepared using the template method),as supporting matrices and dodecane as the *** to the combined effects of capillary forces within mesoporous materials and interactions among dodecane molecules,both dodecane/SBA-15 and dodecane/CMK-3 exhibit outstanding shape stability and thermal cycling stability even after 200 heating/cooling *** comparison to those of dodecane/SBA-15,dodecane/CMK-3 exhibits superior cold storage performance and higher thermal ***,the phase transition temperature of dodecane/CMK-3 is-8.81℃ with a latent heat of 122.4 j·g^(-1).Additionally,it has a thermal conductivity of 1.21 W·m^(-1)·K^(-1),which is 9.45 times that of dodecane *** these highlight its significant potential for applications in the area of cold energy storage.

Infiltration,runoff,and slope stability behaviors of infinite slope with macropores based on an improved Green–Ampt model

Infiltration–runoff–slope instability mechanism of macropore slope under heavy rainfall is *** paper studied its instability mechanism with an improved Green–Ampt(GA)model considering the dual-porosity(i.e.,matrix and macropore)and ponding condition,and proposed the infiltration equations,infiltration–runoff coupled model,and safety factor calculation *** show that the infiltration processes of macropore slope can be divided into three stages,and the proposed model is rational by a comparative *** wetting front depth of the traditional unsaturated slope is 17.2%larger than that of the macropore slope in the early rainfall stage and 27%smaller than that of the macropore slope in the late rainfall ***,macropores benefit the slope stability in the early rainfall but not in the *** flow does not occur initially but becomes pronounced with increasing rainfall *** equal depth of the wetting front in the two domains is regarded as the onset criteria of macropore *** analysis shows that macropore flow is delayed by increasing proportion of macropore domain(ω_(f)),whereas promoted by increasing ratio of saturated permeability coefficients between the two domains(μ).The increasing trend of ponding depth is sharp at first and then grows ***,when rainfall duration is less than 3 h,ωf andμhave no significant effect on the safety factor,whereas it decreases with increasingωf and increases with increasingμunder longer duration(≥3 h).With the increase ofω_(f),the slope maximum instability time advances by 10.5 h,and with the increase ofμ,the slope maximum instability time delays by 3.1 h.

Analysis method and experimental study of ice accumulation detection signal based on Lamb waves

A quantitative identification method for in-flight icing has the capability to significantly enhance the safety of aircraft *** guided waves have the unique advantage of detecting icing in a relatively large area,but quantitative identification of ice layers is a *** this paper,a quantitative identification method of ice accumulation based on ultrasonic guided waves is ***,a simulation model for the wave dynamics of piezoelectric coupling in three dimensions is established to analyze the propagation characteristics of Lamb waves in a structure consisting of an aluminum plate and an ice *** wavelet transform method is utilized to extract the Time of Flight(ToF)or Time of Delay(ToD)of S_(0)/B_(1) mode waves,which serves as a characteristic parameter to precisely determine and assess the level of ice ***,an experimental system is developed to evaluate the feasibility of Lamb waves-based icing real-time detection in the presence of spray ***,a combination of the Hampel median filter and the moving average filter is developed to analyze ToF/ToD *** simulation results reveal a positive correlation between geometric dimensions(length,width,thickness)of the ice layer and ToF/ToD of B1 mode waves,indicating their potential as indicators for quantifying ice *** results of real-time icing detection indicate that ToF/ToD will reach greater peak values with the growth of the arbitrary-shaped ice layer until saturation to effectively predict the simulation *** study lays a foundation for the practical application of quantitative icing detection via ultrasonic guided waves.

Turbo-shaft engine adaptive neural network control based on nonlinear state space equation

Intelligent Adaptive Control(AC) has remarkable advantages in the control system design of aero-engine which has strong nonlinearity and uncertainty. Inspired by the Nonlinear Autoregressive Moving Average(NARMA)-L2 adaptive control, a novel Nonlinear State Space Equation(NSSE) based Adaptive neural network Control(NSSE-AC) method is proposed for the turbo-shaft engine control system design. The proposed NSSE model is derived from a special neural network with an extra layer, and the rotor speed of the gas turbine is taken as the main state variable which makes the NSSE model be able to capture the system dynamic better than the NARMA-L2 model. A hybrid Recursive Least-Square and Levenberg-Marquardt(RLS-LM) algorithm is advanced to perform the online learning of the neural network, which further enhances both the accuracy of the NSSE model and the performance of the adaptive controller. The feedback correction is also utilized in the NSSE-AC system to eliminate the steady-state tracking error. Simulation results show that, compared with the NARMA-L2 model, the NSSE model of the turboshaft engine is more accurate. The maximum modeling error is decreased from 5.92% to 0.97%when the LM algorithm is introduced to optimize the neural network parameters. The NSSE-AC method can not only achieve a better main control loop performance than the traditional controller but also limit all the constraint parameters efficiently with quick and accurate switching responses even if component degradation exists. Thus, the effectiveness of the NSSE-AC method is validated.
