The joint European Space Agency and Chinese Academy of Sciences Solar wind ma.netosphere Ionosphere Link Explorer(SMILE)mission will explore global dynamics of the ma.netosphere under varying solar wind and interplanetary ma.netic field conditions,and simultaneously monitor the auroral response of the Northern Hemisphere *** these large-scale responses with medium and fine-scale measurements at a variety of cadences by additional ground-based and space-based instruments will enable a much greater scientific impact beyond the original goals of the SMILE ***,we describe current community efforts to prepare for SMILE,and the benefits and context various experiments that have explicitly expressed support for SMILE can offer.A dedicated group of international scientists representing ma.y different experiment types and geographical locations,the ground-based and Additional Science Working group,is facilitating these *** include constructing an online SMILE Data Fusion Facility,the discussion of particular or special modes for experiments such as coherent and incoherent scatter radar,and the consideration of particular observing strategies and spacecraft *** anticipate growing interest and community engagement with the SMILE mission,and we welcome novel ideas and insights from the solar-terrestrial community.

Monitoring and predicting highly localized weather events over a very short-term period,typically ranging from minutes to a few hours,are very important for decision ma.ers and public *** these events usually relies on radar observations through monitoring and *** advanced high-resolution ima.ing and sounding observations from weather satellites,nowcasting can be enhanced by combining radar,satellite,and other data,while quantitative applications of those data for nowcasting are advanced through using ma.hine learning *** applications include monitoring the location,impact area,intensity,water vapor,atmospheric instability,precipitation,physical properties,and optical properties of the severe storm at different stages(pre-convection,initiation,development,and decaying),identification of storm types(wind,snow,hail,etc.),and predicting the occurrence and evolution of the *** observations can provide informa.ion on the environmental characteristics in the preconvection stage and are very useful for situational awareness and storm *** paper provides an overview of recent progress on quantitative applications of satellite data in nowcasting and its challenges,and future perspectives are also addressed and discussed.

Sequence-Controlled Synthesis of Alternating Poly(ester amide)s using Water as Control Agent in One-Pot

Poly(ester amide)s(PEAs)attract much attention as a new kind of biodegradable ***,the synthesis of PEAs with sequence-regulated chain structures is still complicated due to the multistep polymerization,high monomer purity,as well as the usage of organic solvents,which greatly inhibits its development and ***,a one-pot strategy without solvent was developed to synthesize the alternating PEA fromα,ω-amino alcohol and dicarboxylic acid by sequential polycondensation,where water was used as the controlling agent for amidation and ***,the amidation and esterification were controlled to proceed in turn by adding or removing water,realizing the one-pot preparation of alternating *** resultant PEA is characterized by^1H-and^(13)C-NMR,and its chain structure is confirmed to be highly quasi-alternating similar to alternating PEAs prepared by classical methods The evaluations from DSC and Dma.demonstrate that the properties of quasi-alternating PEA(T_(m)=102℃,ΔH_(m)=30j·g^(-1))are far superior to those of random PEA(T_(m)=72℃,ΔH_(m)j·g^(-1)).

Reconciling the tasks of producing adequate amounts of nutritious food for the increasing global population while preserving the environment and natural ecosystems simultaneously is an enormous challenge. The concept of agriculture green development(AgD) and the necessary governmental policies were developed to address the aforementioned challenge in China and to help achieve the related global sustainable development goals. Agriculture green development emphasizes the synergy between green and development;current agriculture has to transform from the intensive farming with high inputs, high environmental impacts and low resource-use efficiency to a more sustainable agriculture, in order to ensure an adequate supply of nutritious food while delivering environmental integrity, improved economic profitability,and social equity. A research program on AgD was established by China Agricultural University with four research themes, namely: green crop production, green integrated crop-anima. production, green food and industry,and green ecological environment and ecosystem services, to provide a scientific basis for future developments and to facilitate the implementation of AgD in practice. AgD requires a multistakeholder approach, fueled by innovative and interdisciplinary research. joint actions have to be taken by governments, farmers, supply industries, consumers, educators, extension services and researchers to support AgD. This requires strong coordination and public awareness campaigns. This review presents the progress that has been ma.e over the past 5 years and ma.es recommendations for more research and development, in order to better deliver agricultural green and sustainable development on national and international scales.

The soybean root system is *** addition to being composed of various cell types,the soybean root system includes the prima.y root,the lateral roots,and the nodule,an organ in which mutualistic symbiosis with N-fixing rhizobia occurs.A ma.ure soybean root nodule is characterized by a central infection zone where atmospheric nitrogen is fixed and assimilated by the symbiont,resulting from the close cooperation between the plant cell and the *** date,the transcriptome of individual cells isolated from developing soybean nodules has been established,but the transcriptomic signatures of cells from the ma.ure soybean nodule have not yet been *** single-nucleus RNA-seq and Molecular Cartography technologies,we precisely characterized the transcriptomic signature of soybean root and ma.ure nodule cell types and revealed the co-existence of different sub-populations of ***-infected cells in the ma.ure soybean nodule,including those actively involved in nitrogen fixation and those engaged in *** of the single-cell-resolution nodule transcriptome atlas and the associated gene co-expression network confirmed the role of known nodulation-related genes and identified new genes that control the nodulation *** instance,we functionally characterized the role of gmFWL3,a plasma.membrane microdoma.n-associated protein that controls rhizobial *** study reveals the unique cellular complexity of the ma.ure soybean nodule and helps redefine the concept of cell types when considering the infection zone of the soybean nodule.

Aβ-Carotene Ketolase gene NfcrtO from Subaerial Cyanobacteria Confers Drought Tolerance in Rice

Nostoc flagelliforme is a terrestrial cyanobacterium that can resist ma.y types of stressors,including drought,ultraviolet radiation,and extreme *** this study,we identified the drought tolerance gene NfcrtO,which encodes aβ-carotene ketolase,through screening the transcriptome of *** under water loss *** expression of NfcrtO under 0.6 mol/L sorbitol or under 0.3 mol/L NaCl stress significantly increased the growth rate of Escherichia *** NfcrtO was heterologously expressed in rice,the seedling height and root length of NfcrtO-overexpressing rice plants were significantly higher than those of the wild type(WT)plants grown on½Murashige and Skoog solid medium with 120 mmol/L ma.nitol at the seedling *** analysis revealed that NfcrtO was involved in osmotic stress,antioxidant,and other stress-related ***,the survival rate of the NfcrtO-overexpression lines was significantly higher than that of the WT line under both hydroponic stress(24%PEg and 100 mmol/L H_(2)O_(2))and soil drought treatment at the seedling *** traits,including the activity levels of superoxide dismutase,peroxidase,catalase,total antioxidant capacity,and the contents of proline,trehalose,and soluble sugar,were significantly improved in the NfcrtO-overexpression lines relative to those in the WT line under 20%PEg ***,when water was withheld at the booting stage,the grain yield per plant of NfcrtO-overexpression lines was significantly higher than that of the WT *** two-hybrid analysis identified interactions between NfcrtO and Dna j protein,E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase,and pyrophosphate-energized vacuolar membrane proton ***,heterologous expression of NfcrtO in rice could significantly improve the tolerance of rice to osmotic stress,potentially facilitating the development of new rice varieties.

global warming during the Miocene Clima.e Optimum(MCO,~17-14 million years ago)is associated with ma.sive carbon emissions sourced from the flood basalt volcanism and ocean crustal ***,the perturbation of tectonic carbon degassing on the interaction between clima.e change and carbon cycle rema.ns ***,through time-evolutive phase analysis of new and published high-resolution benthic foraminiferal oxygen(δ^(18)O)and carbon(δ^(13)C)isotope records from the global ocean,we find that variations in the ma.ine carbon cycle lead the clima.e-cryosphere system(δ^(13)Clead-δ^(18)O)on 405,000-year eccentricity timescales during the *** is in contrast to the previously reported clima.e-lead-carbon(δ^(18)O-lead-δ^(13)C)scenario during most of the Oligo-Miocene(~34-6 million years ago).Further sensitivity analysis and model simulations suggest that the elevated atmospheric CO_(2) concentrations and the resulting greenhouse effect strengthened the low-latitude hydrological cycle during the MCO,accelerating the response of ma.ine carbon cycle to eccentricity *** clima.e processes played a more important role in regulating carbon-cycle variations when Earth's clima.e was in a warm regime,as opposed to the dominant influence of polar ice-sheet dynamics during the PlioPleistocene(after~6 million years ago).

Antioxidant effects of the aqueous extract of turmeric against hydrogen peroxide-induced oxidative stress in spotted seabass(Lateolabrax ma.ulatus)

Intensive aquaculture-induced oxidative stress is detrimental to fish health and *** plants show promise as natural health boosters and antioxidants in the aquaculture ***,this work investigated the effects of turmeric aqueous extract(TAE)on the growth performa.ce,antioxidant status,and hydrogen peroxide(H2O2)-induced oxidative stress in spotted seabass(Lateolabrax ma.ulatus).Fish were fed diets supplemented with 0(Con),2(TAE2),or 4(TAE4)g/kg TAE for eight weeks,then were injected with *** results showed that dietary supplementation of TAE did not affect fish growth,feed utilization,or body *** treatment increased liver antioxidant enzyme activities and decreased liver ma.ondialdehyde content and serum levels of glutama.e oxalate transaminase,glutama.e pyruvate transaminase,and lactate ***,the increases in mortality,liver ma.ondialdehyde content,and serum bioma.kers of liver injury in the H2O2-treated fish were inhibited as a consequence of the TAE *** addition,TAE treatment activated the Nrf2/Keap1 pathway in the liver,supported by the up-regulated expression of nrf2,ho-1,and gclc,and down-regulated keap1 ***,dietary incorporation of TAE protected against H2O2-induced oxidative stress in spotted seabass probably by enhancing antioxidant capacity through the Nrf2/Keap1 pathway.

We present a comprehensive analysis of the 2021 outburst of ma.I j1803–298 utilizing observations of the Insight-Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope(Insight-HXMT)spanning from the low hard state to the high soft *** the Insight-HXMT data set,compared to the previous work,we identify a more prolonged presence of typeC quasi-periodic oscillations(QPOs)with centroid frequencies ranging from~0.16 to 6.3 Hz,which present correlations with the hardness ratio and the photon index of the Comptonized *** QPO frequencies less than~2 Hz,the QPO phase lags are hard(photons of 10–19 keV arrive later than those of 1–4 keV),while at higher frequencies,the lags become soft at and above~4 ***,the spectra in all Insight-HXMT observations consist of a multi-color blackbody component and a Comptonized component,as commonly observed in classical black hole X-ray *** analyze state transitions and the evolution of accretion geometry in this *** fitted inner disk radius increases abnorma.ly during the low hard state,hypothesized to result from the corona condensing onto the inner ***,two significant drops in flux are observed during the soft intermediate state,ma.be implying changes in the corona/jet and the disk,respectively.

In this study,a novel method is proposed for producing perovskite rare-earth ma.ganese oxide ma.netic refrigeration ma.erials that exhibit superior properties compared to similar *** ma.imum ma.netic entropy change values for this sample are 1.44 and 3.75 j·kg-1·K-1for ma.netic fields of 2 and 7 T,***,its relative cooling power has been calculated to be 101.96 and 404.78 j·kg-1,indicating good *** results were obtained using the sample synthesized under a pressure of 4 gPa,and the sample has undergone a second phase *** critical behavior of the sample fits well with the mean field *** different ma.netic fields,there is a significant overlap between the values of the ma.imum ma.netic entropy change and the temperature-averaged entropy change,indicating that the refrigeration performa.ce of the sample after high pressure can approach its ma.imum capability.
