Response of phytoplankton functional group to spring drought in a large subtropical reservoir

Global warming has caused an increase in the frequency and duration of droughts *** could trigger large changes in physico-chemical conditions and phytoplankton community in waterbodies,resulting in a shift in the phytoplankton *** diatom blooms in reservoirs have been increasingly observed in the past decade in the Taihu Lake *** aim of the present study is to elucidate the impacts of droughts on aquatic environment and to determine the driving factors for the succession of the phytoplankton functional groups based on the analysis of data collected during spring from 2009 to 2020 in the Daxi *** unimodal relationship between 1-month aggregated precipitation index and phytoplankton species richness indicated the competitive exclusion occurred in extremely drought *** structural equation modeling indicated that drought-related low water level conditions intensified sediment resuspension,and increased the phosphorus-enriched nonalgal turbidity in the Daxi ***,a steady shift in the Reynolds phytoplankton functional groups from L 0,TD,j,X 2,and A(phytoplankton taxa preferring low turbidity and nutrient conditions)to TB(pennate diatoms being adapt to turbid and nutrient-rich conditions)was *** increased TP and non-algal turbidity in addition to the lowered disturbance contribute to the prevalence of Group *** the difficulties in nutrient control,timely water replenishment is often a feasible method of controlling the dominance of harmful algae for reservoir ***,alternative water sources are in high demand for ensuring ecological safety and water availability when dealing with drought.

Effects of Aging at 550℃ on α'-Martensitic Transformation of High Si-Bearing Metastable Austenitic Stainless Steel Weld Metal

The high Si-bearing 15Cr-9Ni-Nb metastable austenitic stainless steel weld metal was prepared via gas tungsten arc welding and then processed by stabilized heat treatment(SHT)at 850℃ for 3 *** effects of 550℃ aging on the α'-martensitic transformation of the as-welded and the SHT weld metals were *** results showed that the weld metal had poor thermal stability of *** precipitation of NbC during the 850℃ SHT made the thermal stability of the local matrix decrease and led to the formation of a large amount of C-depleted α'-*** precipitation of coarse σ-phase at the δ-ferrite led to the Cr-depleted zone and the formation of Cr-depleted α'-martensite at the early stage of 550℃ *** homogenized diffusion of C and Cr in the matrix during 550℃ aging led to the restoration of austenitic thermal stability and the decrease of α'-martensite *** C-depleted α'-martensite content in the SHT weld metal decreased rapidly at the early stage of aging due to the fast diffusion rate of the C atom in the matrix,while the Cr-depleted α'-martensite decreased at the later stage of aging due to the decreased diffusion rate of the Cr.

Saccharides are a sort of ubiquitous and vital molecules within the whole ***,the application of saccharides analysis with matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization mass spectrometry(MALDI-MS)is restricted by their low ionization efficiency and the instability of the sialic acid *** strategy based on nonreductive amination provides a good solution,however,this is often time consuming and may result in sample loss due to removal of excessive derivatization ***,hydralazine(HZN)was utilized as a reactive matrix for labeling reducing saccharides directly on MALDI target which eliminated tedious sample preparation and avoided sample *** optimization,effective and reproducible on-MALDI-target derivatization of neutral and acidic saccharides was achieved in both positive and negative *** with 2,5-dihydroxybenzoic acid(DHB)and 9-aminoacridine(9-AA),HZN improved the detection sensitivity of reducing saccharides and provided more abundant fragment ions in MS/MS ***,26 kinds of neutral glycans and 5 kinds of sialic glycans were identified from ovalbumin(OVA)and bovine fetuin,*** with the statistical models,this strategy could be used to distinguish and predict samples of 6 brands of beer,and discriminate 2 kinds of beer fermentation *** addition,HZN was applied for quantitative analysis of glucose in urine samples,and the obtained urine glucose concentrations of diabetic patients were consistent with the clinical test results,showing the potential of qualitative and quantitative analysis of reducing saccharides in complex samples.

A novel long persistent luminescent material CaGeO_(3):Tb^(3+)with photo-stimulation properties

A novel green long afterglow material CaGeO_(3):Tb^(3+)was synthesized by high temperature solid phase *** to the experimental results,CaGeO_(3):Tb^(3+)is a green long persistent luminescent(LPL)material with excellent ***_(3):Tb^(3+)shows LPL emission peak at 442,490.9,548.7,588.5 and 623.8 nm,corresponding to ^(5)D_(3) to^(7)F_(4)and^(5)D_(4)to^(7)F_(j)(j=6,5,4,3)transitions of Tb^(3+).Its CIE coordinates are(0.27,0.50),indicating that the afterglow emission is close to the light of green *** addition,after the excitation source is turned off,the afterglow time is longer than 90 *** an interval of 7 h,the photo-stimulation luminescence(PSL)can be observed by using 980 nm laser cyclic *** thermoluminescence(ThL)results show that there are three types of traps in the material and their depths are 0.666,0.774 and 0.892 eV respectively,which are caused by the doping of Tb^(3+).All the results show that CaGeO_(3):Tb^(3+)is an excellent long afterglow luminescent material.

Anode-free Li-metal batteries are of significant interest to energy storage industries due to their intrinsically high ***,the accumulative Li dendrites and dead Li continuously consume active Li during *** results in a short lifetime and low Coulombic efficiency of anode-free Li-metal *** effective electrolyte additives can improve the Li deposition homogeneity and solid electrolyte interphase(SEI)stability for anode-free Li-metal ***,we reveal that introducing dual additives,composed of LiAsF6 and fluoroethylene carbonate,into a low-cost commercial carbonate electrolyte will boost the cycle life and average Coulombic efficiency of NMC‖Cu anode-free Li-metal *** NMC‖Cu anode-free Li-metal batteries with the dual additives exhibit a capacity retention of about 75%after 50 cycles,much higher than those with bare electrolytes(35%).The average Coulombic efficiency of the NMC‖Cu anode-free Li-metal batteries with additives can maintain 98.3%over 100 *** contrast,the average Coulombic efficiency without additives rapidly decline to 97%after only 50 *** situ Raman measurements reveal that the prepared dual additives facilitate denser and smoother Li morphology during Li *** dual additives significantly suppress the Li dendrite growth,enabling stable SEI formation on anode and cathode *** results provide a broad view of developing low-cost and high-effective functional electrolytes for high-energy and long-life anode-free Li-metal batteries.

Serum ferritin and the risk of early-onset colorectal cancer

BACKGROUND The incidence of early-onset colorectal cancer(EO-CRC)is rising in the United States,and is often diagnosed at advanced *** serum ferritin is often incidentally discovered in young adults,however,the indication for endoscopy in EO-CRC is *** To compare serum ferritin between patients with EO-CRC and healthy controls(HCs),and examine the association of serum ferritin in EO-CRC with patient-and disease-specific *** A retrospective study of patients<50 years with newly-diagnosed EO-CRC was conducted from 1/2013-12/*** were included if serum ferritin was measured within 2 years prior to 1 year following CRC histologic *** supplement the analysis,a cohort of HCs meeting similar inclusion and exclusion criteria were identified for comparison.A sensitivity analysis including only patients with serum ferritin obtained at or before diagnosis was separately performed to minimize risk of *** Among 85 patients identified with EO-CRC(48 females),the median serum ferritin level was 26 ng/mL(range<1-2759 ng/mL).Compared to HCs(n=80211),there were a higher proportion of individuals with EO-CRC with serum ferritin<20 ng/mL(female 65%,male 40%)versus HCs(female 32.1%,male 7.2%)age 29-39 years(P=0.002 and P<0.00001,respectively).Stage IV disease was associated with significantly higher serum ferritin compared to less advanced stages(P<0.001).Serum ferritin obtained before or at the time of diagnosis was lower than levels obtained after *** findings were confirmed in the sensitivity *** Severe iron deficiency may indicate an increased risk of EO-CRC,particularly at earlier *** studies defining the optimal serum ferritin threshold and routine incorporation of serum ferritin in screening algorithms is essential to develop more effective screening strategies for EO-CRC.

This paper studies the joint tail behavior of two randomly weighted sums∑_(i=1)^(m)Θ_(i)X_(i)and∑_(j=1)^(n)θ_(j)Y_(j)for some m,n∈N∪{∞},in which the primary random variables{X_(i);i∈N}and{Y_(i);i∈N},respectively,are real-valued,dependent and heavy-tailed,while the random weights{Θi,θi;i∈N}are nonnegative and arbitrarily dependent,but the three sequences{X_(i);i∈N},{Y_(i);i∈N}and{Θ_(i),θ_(i);i∈N}are mutually *** two types of weak dependence assumptions on the heavy-tailed primary random variables and some mild moment conditions on the random weights,we establish some(uniformly)asymptotic formulas for the joint tail probability of the two randomly weighted sums,expressing the insensitivity with respect to the underlying weak dependence *** applications,we consider both discrete-time and continuous-time insurance risk models,and obtain some asymptotic results for ruin probabilities.

In response to the development of the concepts of“carbon neutrality”and“carbon peak”,it is critical to developing materials with high near-infrared(NIR)solar reflectivity and high emissivity in the atmospheric transparency window(ATW;8–13μm)to advance zero energy consumption radiative cooling *** regulate emission and reflection properties,a series of high-entropy rare earth stannate ceramics(HE-RE_(2)Sn_(2)O_(7):(Y_(0.2)La_(0.2)Nd_(0.2)Eu_(0.2)Gd_(0.2))_(2)Sn_(2)O_(7),(Y_(0.2)La_(0.2)Sm_(0.2)Eu_(0.2)Lu_(0.2))_(2)Sn_(2)O_(7),and(Y_(0.2)La_(0.2)Gd_(0.2)Yb_(0.2)Lu_(0.2))_(2)Sn_(2)O_(7))with severe lattice distortion were prepared using a solid phase reaction followed by a pressureless sintering method for the first *** distortion is accomplished by introducing rare earth elements with different cation radii and *** as-synthesized HE-RE_(2)Sn_(2)O_(7)ceramics possess high ATW emissivity(91.38%–95.41%),high NIR solar reflectivity(92.74%–97.62%),low thermal conductivity(1.080–1.619 W·m^(−1)·K^(−1)),and excellent chemical *** the one hand,the lattice distortion intensifies the asymmetry of the structural unit to cause a notable alteration in the electric dipole moment,ultimately enlarging the ATW *** the other hand,by selecting difficult excitation elements,HE-RE_(2)Sn_(2)O_(7),which has a wide band gap(Eg),exhibits high NIR solar ***,the multi-component design can effectively enhance radiative cooling ability of HE-RE_(2)Sn_(2)O_(7)and provide a novel strategy for developing radiative cooling materials.
