Synthesis of ternary geopolymers using prediction for effective solidification of mercury in tailings

This study used steel slag,fly ash,and metakaolin as raw materials(SFM materials)to create silica-alumina-based geopolymers that can solidify Hg^(2+)when activated with sodiumbased water *** experiments began with a triangular lattice point mixing design experiment,and the results were fitted,analyzed,and *** optimum SFM material mass ratio was found to be 70%steel slag,25%fly ash,and 5%*** optimum modulus of the activator was identified by comparing the unconfined compressive strength and solidifying impact on Hg^(2+)of geosynthetics with different *** SFM geopolymer was then applied in the form of potting to cure the granulated mercury *** inclusion of 50%SFM material generated a geosynthetic that reduced mercury transport to the surface soil by roughly 90%.The mercury concentration of herbaceous plant samples was also reduced by 78%.It indicates that the SFM material can effectively attenuate the migration transformation of ***,characterization methods such as XPS and FTIR were used to investigate the mechanism of Hg^(2+)solidification by geopolymers generated by SFM *** possible solidification mechanisms were proposed as alkaline environment-induced mercury precipitation,chemical bonding s,surface adsorption of Hg^(2+)and its precipitates by the geopolymer,and physical encapsulation.

The big-tapered profiled ring disk is a key component of engines for rockets and missiles.A new forming technology,as called spinning-rolling process,has been proposed previously for the high performance,high efficiency and low-cost manufacturing of the *** design is the key part of plastic forming process *** spinning-rolling process,the shape and size of the blank play a crucial role in process stability,deformation behavior and dimensional *** this work proposes a blank design method to determine the geometry structure and sizes of the *** mathematical model for calculating the blank size has been deduced based on volume conservation and neutral layer length invariance *** FE simulation and corresponding trial production of an actual big-tapered profiled ring disk show that the proposed blank design method is *** order to obtain a preferred blank,the influence rules of blank size determined by different deformation degrees(rolling ratio k)on the spinning-rolling process are revealed by comprehensive FE *** considering the process stability,circularity of the deformed ring disk and forming forces,a reasonable range of deformation degree(rolling ratio k)is recommended for the blank design of the new spinning-rolling process.

Smart farming with outdoor monitoring systems is critical to address food shortages and sustainability *** systems facilitate informed decisions that enhance efficiency in broader environmental *** outdoor systems equipped with energy harvesters and self-powered sensors often struggle with fluctuating energy sources,low durability under harsh conditions,non-transparent or non-biocompatible materials,and complex ***,a multifunctional hydrogel is developed,which can fulfill all the above requirements and build selfsustainable outdoor monitoring systems solely by *** can serve as a stable energy harvester that continuously generates direct current output with an average power density of 1.9 W m^(-3)for nearly 60 days of operation in normal environments(24℃,60%RH),with an energy density of around 1.36×10^(7)j m^(-3).It also shows good self-recoverability in severe environments(45℃,30%RH)in nearly 40 days of continuous ***,this hydrogel enables noninvasive and self-powered monitoring of leaf relative water content,providing critical data on evaluating plant health,previously obtainable only through invasive or high-power consumption *** potential extends to acting as other self-powered environmental *** multifunctional hydrogel enables self-sustainable outdoor systems with scalable and low-cost production,paving the way for future agriculture.

In this paper, we call a tuple consisting of 3-Lie algebra and a higher derivation on it a 3-LieHDer pair. We introduce a cohomology theory of 3-LieHDer pairs. Next, we interpret the second cohomology group as the space of all isomorphism classes of abelian extensions. Finally,we consider formal deformations of 3-LieHDer pairs that are governed by the cohomology with self-coefficient.

It is important to analyze the damage evolution process of surrounding rock under different water content for the stability of engineering rock mass. Based on digital speckle correlation (DSCM), acoustic emission (AE) and electromagnetic radiation (EMR), uniaxial hierarchical cyclic loading and unloading tests were carried out on sandstones with different fracture numbers under dry, natural and saturated water content, to explore the fracture propagation, failure precursor characteristics and damage response mechanism under the influence of water content effect. The results show that with the increase of water content, the peak stress and crack initiation stress decrease gradually, and the decreases are 15.28%–21.11% and 17.64%–23.04%, respectively. The peak strain and crack initiation strain increase gradually, and the increases are 19.85%–44.53% and 19.15%–41.94%, respectively. The precracked rock with different water content is mainly characterized by tensile failure at different loading stages. However, with the increase of water content, the proportion of shear cracks gradually increases, while acoustic emission events gradually decrease, the dissipative energy and energy storage limits of the rock under peak load gradually decrease, and the charge signal increases significantly, which is because the lubrication effect of water reduces the friction coefficient between crack surfaces. © 2025

By manipulating the distribution of surface electrons,defect engineering enables effective control over the adsorption energy between adsorbates and active sites in the CO2reduction reaction（CO2RR）.Herein,we report a hollow indium oxide nanotube containing both oxygen vacancy and sulfur doping（V_o-Sx-In2O3） for improved CO2-to-HCOOH electroreduction and *** componential synergy significantly reduces the*OCHO formation barrier to expedite protonation process and creates a favorable electronic micro-environment for*HCOOH *** a result,the CO2RR performance of Vo-Sx-In2O3outperforms Pure-In2O3and V_o-In2O3,where V_o-S53-In2O3exhibits a maximal HCOOH Faradaic efficiency of 92.4% at-1,2 V *** hydrogen electrode（RHE） in H-cell and above 92%over a wide window potential with high current density(119.1 mA cm-2at-1.1 V ***) in flow ***,the rechargeable Zn-CO2battery utilizing V_o-S53-In2O3as cathode shows a high power density of 2.29 mW cm-2and a long-term stability during charge-discharge *** work provides a valuable perspective to elucidate co-defective catalysts in regulating the intermediates for efficient CO2RR.

Absorption mechanism of SO_(3)on various alkaline absorbents in the presence of SO_(2)

Sulfur trioxide(SO_(3))as a condensable particle matter has a significant influence on atmospheric visibility,which easily arouses formation of *** is imperative to control the SO_(3)emission from the industrial flue *** commonly used basic absorbents,including Ca(OH)_(2),MgO and NaHCO_(3)were selected to explore the effects of temperature,SO_(2)concentration on the SO_(3)absorption,and the reaction mechanism of SO_(3)absorption was further *** suitable reaction temperature for various absorbents were proposed,Ca(OH)_(2)at the high temperatures above 500°C,MgO at the low temperatures below 320°C,and NaHCO_(3)at the temperature range of 320–500°*** competitive absorption between SO_(2)and SO_(3)was found that the addition of SO_(2)reduced the SO_(3)absorption on Ca(OH)_(2)and NaHCO_(3),while had no effect on *** order of the absorption selectivity of SO_(3)follows MgO,NaHCO_(3)and Ca(OH)_(2)under the given conditions in this *** absorption process of SO_(3)on NaHCO_(3)follows the shrinking core model,thus the absorption reaction continues until NaHCO_(3)was exhausted with the utilization rate of nearly 100%.The absorption process of SO_(3)on Ca(OH)_(2)and MgO follows the grain model,and the dense product layer hinders the further absorption reaction,resulting in low utilization of about 50%for Ca(OH)_(2)and *** research provides a favorable support for the selection of alkaline absorbent for SO_(3)removal in application.
