Discrete Software Reliability Growth Modeling for Errors of Different Severity Incorporating Change-point Concept

Several software reliability growth models （SRGM） have been developed to monitor the reliability growth during the testing phase of software development. In most of the existing research available in the literatures, it is considered that a similar testing effort is required on each debugging effort. However, in practice, different types of faults may require different amounts of testing efforts for their detection and removal. Consequently, faults are classified into three categories on the basis of severity： simple, hard and complex. This categorization may be extended to r type of faults on the basis of severity. Although some existing research in the literatures has incorporated this concept that fault removal rate （FRR） is different for different types of faults, they assume that the FRR remains constant during the overall testing period. On the contrary, it has been observed that as testing progresses, FRR changes due to changing testing strategy, skill, environment and personnel resources. In this paper, a general discrete SRGM is proposed for errors of different severity in software systems using the change-point concept. Then, the models are formulated for two particular environments. The models were validated on two real-life data sets. The results show better fit and wider applicability of the proposed models as to different types of failure datasets.

The microwave electrothermal thruster （MET） is an electric propulsion device that uses an electromagnetic resonant cavity within which free-floating plasma is ignited and sustained in a propellant *** thrust is generated when the heated propellant gas is exhausted out of a gas-dynamic *** an empty cavity without any perturbing regions—e.g.,dielectric regions or antenna regions—it is fairly straightforward to accurately calculate the cavity＇s resonant frequency and describe the electric field intensity distribution within the ***,actual METs do contain perturbing regions,which means that analytical solutions are no longer possible to fully characterize the ***,the numerical methods to simulate the electric field intensity and distribution within the resonant cavity were *** simulation results are that with the cap height increasing,the resonant frequency and electric field strength decrease,also increasing the permittivity of dielectric material causes decreasing the resonant frequency and electric field strength.A decrease in resonant frequency and maximum electric field strength,and an increase in resonant bandwidth,were observed with increasing antenna *** an antenna of a given depth equals decreasing the depth.

A dark pulse mode-locked laser is experimentally demonstrated using the indium tin oxide(ITO)coated Dshape fiber as a saturable absorber(SA).Using the polishing wheel technique,a D-shape single mode fiber was fabricated.A 60-nm-thick layer of ITO was deposited over the D-shape fiber using the electron beam deposition *** SA has a saturation intensity of 40.32 MW/cm^2 and a modulation depth of 3.5%.A stable dark pulse mode-locked laser was observed at a central wavelength of 1559.4 nm with repetition rate 0.98 MHz,pulse width 370 ns and signal-to-noise ratio 61 dB.

BACKGROUnD Inflammatory bowel disease(IBD)may limit physical activity due to intestinal or extraintestinal manifestations,fatigue,or exercise *** sought to evaluate the influence of IBD diagnosis on exercise and sports participation in a pediatric *** compared patient-reported and parent-reported *** To evaluate the influence of IBD diagnosis on exercise and sports participation in a pediatric *** Consecutive IBD outpatients(aged 10-18 years)and their parents completed parallel voluntary surveys.A validated,patient-reported functional activity scale,the Hospital for Special Surgery Pediatric Functional Activity Brief Scale(HSS Pedi-FABS)was used to assess children’s activity *** There were 149 completed surveys(75%response rate)with mean participant age of 16.5 years[standard deviation(SD)=4.0]and mean age at IBD diagnosis of 11.8 years(SD=3.4).Most patients(77%)were diagnosed within 12 mo of symptom *** athletic participation was reported in 65%across 65 *** was greatest before(40%)rather than after(32%)IBD diagnosis,with no reported change in 28%.IBD negatively impacted play/performance in 45%but did not change play/performance in 44%.IBD treatment improved patients’desire to exercise(70%)and subjective capacity for aerobic exercise(72%).Patients and parents agreed that IBD subjects demonstrate normal capacity for aerobic exercise(0.40,95%CI:0.22-0.58)and that treatment improved both participatory desire(0.33,95%CI:0.12-0.54)and capacity for aerobic exercise(0.52,95%CI:0.31-0.71).Almost all(99%)viewed exercise as healthy,and most encouraged its *** patients demonstrated normal mean HSS Pedi-FABS *** After pediatric IBD diagnosis,most patients continue exercise and sports,with mean activity levels comparable to American *** positively impacts participatory desire and aerobic *** favor the role of exercise in IBD.

Tendril-bearing climbing plants must recur to the tendril helices with chiral perversion or dual chirality for climbing and to obtain sun exposure. Despite researchers' prolonged fascination with climbing tendrils since Darwin's time and even earlier, why the soft and slender tendrils can bear heavy loads such as the self-weight of a plant or additional load caused by rain remains elusive. In this paper, we take towel gourd tendrils as an example and investigate the macroscopic and microscopic mechanical behaviors of tendrils through experiments and simulations. Our study indicates that the tendril filament exhibits rubber-like hyperelastic behaviors and can particularly endure large elongation, which is mainly attributed to the superelasticity of the cellulose fibril helix contained in the cell wall. Combination of the tendril helical structure with dual chirality or chiral perversion at a macroscale and a cellulose filament helix at a subcellular level creates superior elasticity for biological species relying on support and climbing. This study provides deep insight into the structure-property relationship of climbing tendrils, and the relationship is useful for the bioinspired design of composite systems with superior elasticity.

The effect of catalytic surface reaction on non-reactive flow in micro-channels is *** hydraulic diameter of the channel is considered within the range of 0.2-1.2 mm,and the channel length is considered to be 5 *** whole length of the channel wall is coated with a *** sensitivity analysis shows that the effect of normalized hydraulic diameter is more than the normalized longitude coordinates in accordance with the existence of the large ratio of surface area to volume in the *** validation of this model,the variation of fuel conversion is compared with the published experimental data and shows an acceptable agreement.
