Objectives Scope Due to the plasticity, macrophage as a heterogeneous population of immune cells could modify their phenotype rapidly as response to environmental factors. we differentiated primary macrophages to classic macrophages or alternative macrophages and analysed cell typespecific markers as well as those markers that response to dietary fibers. Some of these fibers for example given the beta-glucan Lentinan from Shiitake mushroom, have shown immunomodulating properties towards macrophages whichmight be expected to be revealed by these analysis. Methods Macrophages were obtained after 7 days culturing of monocytes in RPMI-1640 medium supplemented with 50 ng/ml MCSF(referred to as M(MCSF) and followed polarization by 20 ng/ml TNF-α plus 20 ng/ml IFN-γ or 20 ng/ml IL-4 for M(TNF-α + IFN-γ) and M(IL4) separately. Gene expression profiles of macrophages were analysed by Affymetrix GeneC hips(Human gene 1.1 ST Array) and verified mR NA expression by q ***,M(MCSF)were incubated with Lentinan containing Shiitake extract at 500μg/ml for the same 18 hours. Results Comparing M(TNF-α + IFN-γ) to M(IL4), we identified 8639 significant differencially expressing genes. According to those genes, IDO1, IRG1, ANKRD22, GBP5 and GBP3 were the top 5 markers for M(TNF-α + IFN-γ). Meanwhile, IL17 RB, ALOX5, CD180, ST8SIA6 and CHDH were the top 5 markers for M(IL4). Interestingly, indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase(IDO) is an immunomodulatory protein expressed in various antigen presenting cells such as macrophages and dendritic cells, which can suppress adaptive immunity and showed T cells suppression and immune tolerance activity. Further, we verified IDO1 m RNA expression by q PCR, normalized to medium control, which confirmed that M(TNF-α + IFN-γ)highly express IDO1 while M(IL4) do not. background Cerebral microemboli may lead to ischaemic neurological complications after carotid endarterectomy(CeA).The association between classical cardiovascular risk factors and acute cerebral microemboli following carotid surgery has not been *** aim of this study was to explore whether an established cardiovascular risk score(Pocock score)predicts the presence of cerebral microemboli acutely after *** and methods Pocock scores were assessed for the 670 patients from the Carotid Surgery Registry(age 71±1(SeM)years,474(71%)male,652(97%)Caucasian)managed from january 2002 to December 2012 in the Regional Vascular Centre at University Hospitals Coventry and warwickshire NHS Trust,which serves a population of *** was undertaken in 474(71%)patients for symptomatic carotid stenosis and in 196(25%)asymptomatic patients during the same period.74% of patients were hypertensive,71%were smokers and 49% had *** A high Pocock score(≥2.3%)was significantly associated with evidence of cerebral microemboli acutely following CeA(P=0.039,Mann-whitney(Mw)test).A Pocock score(≥2.3%)did not predict patients who required additional antiplatelet therapy(microemboli signal(mes)rate>50 hour-1:P=0.164,Mw test).Receiver operating characteristic analysis also showed that the Pocock score predicts acute postoperative microemboli(area under the curve(AUC)0.546,95%CI 0.502 to 0.590,P=0.039)but not a high rate of postoperative microemboli(mes>50 hour−1:AUC 0.546,95% CI 0.482 to 0.610,P=0.164).A Pocock score≥2.3% showed a sensitivity of 74% for the presence of acute postoperative cerebral microemboli.A Pocock score≥2.3% also showed a sensitivity of 77% and a negative predictive value of 90% for patients who developed a high microembolic rate>50 hour−1 after carotid *** These findings demonstrate that the Pocock score could be used as a clinical tool to identify patients at high risk of developing acute postoperative microemboli.

Plants require a number of essential elements in different proportions for ensuring their growth and *** elemental concentrations in leaves reflect the functions and adaptations of plants under specific environmental ***,less is known about how the spectrum of leaf elements associated with resource acquisition,photosynthesis and growth regulates forest biomass along broad elevational *** examined the influence of leaf element distribution and diversity on forest biomass by analyzing ten elements(C,N,P,K,Ca,Mg,Zn,Fe,Cu,and Mn)in tree communities situated every 100 meters along an extensive elevation gradient,ranging from the tropical forest(80 meters above sea level)to the alpine treeline(4200 meters above sea level)in the Kangchenjunga Landscape in eastern Nepal *** calculated communityweighted averages(reflecting dominant traits governing biomass,i.e.,mass-ratio effect)and functional divergence(reflecting increased trait variety,i.e.,complementarity effect)for leaf elements in a total of 1,859 trees representing 116 *** increasing mass-ratio effect and decreasing complementarity in leaf elements enhance forest biomass accumulation.A combination of elements together with elevation explains biomass(52.2%of the variance)better than individual elemental trait diversity(0.05%to 21%of the variance).elevation modulates trait diversity among plant species in biomass *** promotes biomass at lower elevations,but reduces biomass at higher elevations,demonstrating an interaction between elevation and *** interaction between elevation and mass-ratio effect produces heterogeneous effects on biomass along the elevation *** research indicates that biomass accumulation can be disproportionately affected by elevation due to interactions among trait diversities across vegetation *** higher trait variation enhances the adaptation of species to environmental changes,it reduces

This paper proposes a constitutive law and a method for characterizing highly preloaded viscoelastic materials subjected to linear （small-amplitude） vibrations. A multiplicative non-separable variables law has been suggested to model the behavior that depends on both stretch and time/frequency. This approach allows splitting the intricate combined test performed simultaneously on both stretch and frequency, generally in a limited experimental domain up to 100 Hz, into two independent tests. Thus, on one hand, the dynamic complex modulus dependent on frequency alone is evaluated on the basis of vibration tests in a large experimental domain up to 100 kHz. On the other hand, energetic parameters are determined from a quasi-static hyperelastic tensile test. The complex modulus, dependent on both stretch and frequency, is then deduced from the results acquired from uncoupled investigations. This work shows that, in extension, the elastic modulus increases with increasing stretch, and the loss factor decreases with increasing stretch; while, in compression, around the material undeformed state, the modulus increases as the stretch increases till a certain value of compression stretch （upturn point depending on material characteristics）, and then the modulus decreases as the stretch increases. Globally, preload rigidifies materials but reduces their damping property. These results closely match a well-known observation in solid mechanics.

In this paper, the design, customization and implem en tation of an integrated Advanced Planning and Scheduling (APS) system for a Semi conductor Backend Assembly environment is described. The company is one of the w orldwide market leaders in semiconductor packaging technology. The project was d riven by the company’s quest to achieve a competitive edge as a manufacturing po werhouse by providing the shortest possible cycle time with a high degree of fle xibility through the application of Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) tech nology. Gintic was responsible for the Planning & Scheduling functions through o ur APS tool kit, which is called Gintic Scheduling System (GSS). Our APS system is to be integrated with the other two key software systems, namely, the enterpr ise Resource Planning (eRP) and Manufacturing execution System (mes), with the C IM framework. The project was divided into four major execution phases. Phase One activities w ere focused on the gathering and analysis of the end users requirements in order to establish the ’As-Is’ situation and the wish list & the expectation of the ’To-Be’ system. Planning and Scheduling prototypes were built using GSS to iden tify the functionality gap between the existing GSS system and the ’To-Be’ mode l, in order to determine the customization effort needed. The project team perfo rmed detailed system analysis, design and development of the ’To-Be’ system dur ing Phase Two of the project. There are a total of four planning and scheduling modules, including Capacity Planning (CP), Daily Lot Release (DLR), Daily Produc tion Scheduling (DPS) and Dynamic Operation Scheduling (DOS). The detailed desig n specifications of each of the features and functionality were confirmed and ac cepted by the end users before the commencement of the development effort. The c ompleted and tested modules were delivered in stages for testing and acceptance by the end user during the Phase Three of the project. Pilot product line was
