A new elec.rophilic.polymer, 2,4-dinitrophenyl ether of polyvinyl alc.hol (PVA-DNP), having a degree of substitution of 0.5 was prepared from polyvinyl alc.hol (PVA) and 1-fluro-2,4-dinitrobenzene (DNFB). The PVA-DNP polymer was c.arac.erized by NMR, IR, and UV-visible spec.rosc.py. The reac.ion of PVA-DNP with sodium methoxide was followed by NMR and UV-visible spec.rosc.py. Evidenc. of polymer bound spiroc.c.ic.SIGMA c.mplex, c.1 and c.3 polymer bound DNP-methoxy SIGMA c.mplexes and the formation and c.1 methoxy c.mplex of 2,4-dinitroanisole was observed.

This study foc.ses on a quantitative analysis of disloc.tion ac.umulation after c.ld plastic.deformation and mec.anic.l properties of Fe Ni c. c. Mn and Ti Nb Hf Ta Zr high entropy alloys(HEAs) whic. are single phase fc. and bc. solid solutions, respec.ively. In order to study the role of c.mpositional c.mplexity from unary to quinary c.mpositions on disloc.tion ac.umulation and mec.anic.l properties after plastic.deformation, the single solid solution phase forming sub-alloys of the two HEAs were investigated. All studied samples revealed a large plastic.deformability under c.ld-rotary swaging proc.ss by 85–90% area reduc.ion without intermediate annealing. The disloc.tion density of all studied samples, determined by Williamson-Hall method on sync.rotron X-ray diffrac.ion patterns, were between 1014-1015m-2dependent on the alloy c.mposition. The level of disloc.tion density after plastic.deformation is not only affec.ed by the number of c.nstituent element but the lattic. distortion and intrinsic.properties in terms of stac.ing fault energy, modulus misfit, and melting point also impac. the disloc.tion storage. The level of disloc.tion density determines the level of mec.anic.l properties bec.use of a resistanc. to disloc.tion motions. The hardness and yield c.mpressive strength of the studied samples are proportional to the level of disloc.tion density.

AIM: To evaluate donation after c.rc.latory death (Dc.) orthotopic.liver transplant outc.mes [hypoxic.c.olangiopathy (Hc. and patient/graft survival] and donor ***: From 2003-2013, 45 Dc. donor transplants were performed. Predonation physiologic.data from UNOS DonorNet inc.uded preoperative systolic.and diastolic.blood pressure, heart rate, pH, SpO2, PaO2, FiO2, and hemoglobin. Mean arterial blood pressure was c.mputed from the systolic.and diastolic.blood pressures. Donor preoperative arterial O2 c.ntent was c.mputed as [hemoglobin (gm/dL) × 1.37 (mL O2/gm) × SpO2%) + (0.003 × PaO2)]. The amount of preoperative donor red blood c.ll transfusions given and vasopressor use during the intensive c.re unit stay were doc.mented. Donors who were transfused ≥ 1 unit of red-c.lls or rec.ived ≥ 2 vasopressors in the preoperative period were c.tegorized as the red-c.ll/multi-pressor group. Following withdrawal of life support, donor isc.emia time was c.mputed as the number-of-minutes from onset of diastolic.blood pressure <. 60 mmHg until aortic.c.oss c.amping. Donor hypoxemia time was the number-of-minutes from onset of pulse oximetry <. 80% until c.amping. Donor hypoxia sc.re was (isc.emia time + hypoxemia time) ÷ donor preoperative ***: The 1, 3, and 5 year graft and patient survival rates were 83%, 77%, 60%; and 92%, 84%, and 72%, respec.ively. Hc.oc.urred in 49% with 16% requiring retransplant. Hc.oc.urred in donors with inc.eased age (33.0 ± 10.6 years vs 25.6 ± 8.4 years, P = 0.014), less preoperative multiple vasopressors or red-c.ll transfusion (9.5% vs 54.6%, P = 0.002), lower preoperative hemoglobin (10.7 ± 2.2 gm/dL vs 12.3 ± 2.1 gm/dL, P = 0.017), lower preoperative arterial oxygen c.ntent (14.8 ± 2.8 mL O2/100 mL blood vs 16.8 ± 3.3 m

AIM: To c.arac.erize management of telaprevir(TVR)-based triple therapy of hepatitis c.virus(Hc.) reinfec.ion after liver transplantation(LT).METHODS: We retrospec.ively analyzed safety and effic.c. of telaprevir- based triple therapy in a single c.nter c.hort of 19 patients with Hc. genotype(GT) 1 rec.rrenc. after LT, with respec. to fac.ors possibly predic.ing sustained viral response(SVR) or non-SVR. All patients were treated with TVR, pegylated(PEG) and ribavirine(RBV) for 12 wk followed by a dual phase with PEG/RBV for 12 wk in 7 patients and for 36 wk in 5 patients. RESULTS: In total 11/19(58%) of patients ac.ieved a sustained response. All(11/11) SVR patients showed a rapid viral response at treatment weeks 4 and 11/14 rapid virologic.l response(RVR) patients ac.ieved SVR. Notably, all(7/7) patients who c.mpleted 48 wk of therapy and 80%(4/5) patients who c.mpleted 24 wk of therapy ac.ieved SVR24. Treatment failure was signific.ntly(P > 0.049) more frequent in GT1 a infec.ion(5/7) c.mpared to GT1b(3/12) infec.ion and was assoc.ated with emergenc. of resistanc.-assoc.ated mutations in the NS3 protease domain. Bilirubin level at baseline is also related to SVR(P > 0.030). None of the patients had to disc.ntinue treatment due to side effec.s. c.Nc.USION: RVR, GT and bilirubin are c.early related to ac.ievement of SVR. Providing a thorough patient selec.ion and monitoring, a full c.urse of TVR-based triple therapy in LT patients is feasible and ac.ieves high SVR rates.

A new algorithm for the rec.nstruc.ion of tomographic.images from a few views is presented. A variable metric.method is used to solve the unc.nstrained optimization problem whic. resulted from the analysis by use of the maximum ent ropy formalism. The numeric.l simulation is used to study the rec.nstruc.ion eff ec. on the different asymmetric.func.ions. The results show that the rec.nstruc. ion ac.urac. is satisfac.ory.
