Assessment of internal exposure risk from metals pollution of occupational and non-occupational populations around a non-ferrous metal smelting plant

Non-ferrous metal smelting poses significant risks to public ***,the copper smelting process releases arsenic,a semi-volatile metalloid,which poses an emerging exposure risk to both workers and nearby *** comprehensively understand the internal exposure risks of metal(loid)s from copper smelting,we explored eighteen metal(loid)s and arsenic metabolites in the urine of both occupational and non-occupational populations using inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry with high-performance liquid chromatography and compared their health *** showed that zinc and copper(485.38 and 14.00μg/L),and arsenic,lead,cadmium,vanadium,tin and antimony(46.80,6.82,2.17,0.40,0.44 and 0.23μg/L,respectively)in workers(n=179)were significantly higher compared to controls(n=168),while Zinc,tin and antimony(412.10,0.51 and 0.15μg/L,respectively)of residents were significantly higher than ***,workers had a higher monomethyl arsenic percentage(MMA%),showing lower arsenic methylation *** appointment analysis identified arsenic,lead,cadmium,antimony,tin and thallium as co-exposure metal(loid)s from copper smelting,positively relating to the age of *** hazard index(HI)of workers exceeded 1.0,while residents and control were approximately at ***,all three populations had accumulated cancer risks exceeding 1.0×10^(-4),and arsenite(AsIII)was the main contributor to the variation of workers and ***,residents living closer to the smelting plant had higher health *** study reveals arsenic exposure metabolites and multiple metals as emerging contaminants for copper smelting exposure populations,providing valuable insights for pollution control in non-ferrous metal smelting.

Vascular disrupting agents(VDAs)can destroy tumor vasculature and lead to tumor ischemia and hypoxia,resulting in tumor ***,VDAs are easy to induce the upregulation of genes that are associated with cancer cell drug resistance and angiogenesis in tumor ***-activated chemotherapy will be an ideal supplement to VDAs therapy since it can help to fully utilize the ischemia and hypoxia induced by VDAs to realize a synergistic antitumor therapeutic ***,we design a liposome whose surface is modified with a tumor-homing peptide Cys-Arg-Glu-Lys-Ala(CREKA,which can specifically target tumor vessels and stroma)and whose aqueous cavity and lipid bilayer are loaded by a hypoxia-activatable drug banoxantrone dihydrochloride(AQ4N)and a VDA combretastatin A4(CA4),***4 can selectively target vascular endothelial cells and destroy the tumor blood vessels,which will cause the rapid inhibition of blood flow in tumor and enhance the hypoxia in the tumor *** a consequence,AQ4N can exert its boosted cytotoxicity under the enhanced hypoxic *** as-prepared liposome with a uniform particle size exhibits good stability and high cancer cell killing efficacy in *** addition,in vivo experiments confirm the excellent tumortargeting/accumulation,tumor vasculature-damaging,and tumor inhibition effects of the *** work develops a liposomal which can achieve safe and effective tumor suppression without external stimulus excitation by only single injection,and is expected to benefit the future development of effective antitumor liposomal drugs.

A new class of phosphor samples,denoted as Ba_(1-x)Al_(2)Ge_(2)O_(8):xEu^(2+)(BAGO:xEu^(2+))was synthesized using a Pechini-type sol-gel technique and subsequent thermal reduction in CO *** morphology and structural characteristics of both the BAGO host lattice and the Eu^(2+)ions activated BAGO phosphors were investigated through field-emission scanning electron microscopy and X-ray diffractometry analyses,*** BAGO host lattice has micro-sized particles and the Rietveld refinement reveals the presence of a monoclinic crystal phase,characterized by the space group I2/c(No.15).Introducing Eu^(2+)ions into Ba^(2+)sites under CO condition reduces the particle size,switching from microscale to *** the near-ultraviolet spectrum(353 nm),the BAGO:xEu^(2+)phosphors exhibit a broadband bluish-green photoluminescence(PL)emission characterized by a peak band at 492 *** phenomenon is attributed to the 4f^(6)5d^(1)→4f^(7) electronic *** BAGO:0.02Eu^(2+)phosphor shows the strongest bluish-green PL emission,and a co mprehensive description of the concentration quenching mechanism between Eu^(2+)ions is ***,the thermal stability of the optimized BAGO:0.02Eu^(2+)phosphor was investigated,and its activation energy was ***,the synthesized bluish-green BAGO:0.02Eu^(2+)phosphor holds the promise of being a novel and potential candidate for utilization in white light-emitting diode applications.

A 12-metal Zn（Ⅱ）-Nd（Ⅲ） cluster 1（sizes:1.8 nm×2.0 nm×2.0 nm） was synthesized from a long-chain type Schiff base *** displays ratiometric fluorescence response to neopterin（Neo） with high selectivity and sensitivity,which can be expressed by the equation I545nm/I1060nm=A·[Neo]2+B·[Neo]+C.1 is used to quantitatively test Neo concentrations in fetal calf serum（FCS） and urine,and the recovery ranges are 98.57%-103.82% and 99.25%-103.50%,respectively,while the relative standard deviations（RSDs） are 7.89%-9.46% and 1.85%-4.16%,*** limits of detection of 1 to Neo in FCS and urine are 0.034 and 0.021 μmol/L,respectively.

In the process of image understanding, the human visual system (HVS) performs multiscale analysis on various objects. HVS primarily focuses on marginally conspicuous image patches located within or around distinct objects rather than scanning the image pixels point by point. Inspired by the HVS mechanism, in this paper, we aimed to describe and exploit multiscale decomposition-based patch detection models for automatic visual feature representation and object localization in images. Our investigation into mimicking and modeling the HVS to capture conspicuous sparse patches and their spatial distribution clues makes a profound contribution to the automatic comprehension and characterization of images by machines. This study demonstrates that the sparse patch-based visual representation with spatial center cues is intrinsically tolerant to object positioning and understanding beyond object variations in spatial position, multiresolution, and chrominance, which has significant implications for many vision-based automatic object grabbing and perception applications, such as robotics, human -machine interaction, and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

The metal ion batteries have gained widespread attention for wearable electronics due to their competitive energy density and long cycling *** the advanced anode materials is significant for next generation energy storage ***,severe electrode volume changes and sluggish redox kinetics are the critical problems for lithium/potassium ion batteries(LIBs/PIBs)towards large-scale ***,we prepare a novel anode material,which consists of reduced graphene oxide wrapping one-dimensional(1D)N-doped porous carbon nanotube with cobalt phosphoselenide(CoPSe)nanoparticles embedded inside them(r GO@Co PSe/NC).Benefited from the dual carbon decorations and ultrafine nanoparticles structure,it achieves a reversible capacity of 245 mAh/g at 5 A/g after 2000 cycles for LIBs and 215 mAh/g at 1 A/g after 500 cycles for *** pseudocapacitance and GITT measurements are used to investigate the electrochemical kinetics of r GO@Co PSe/NC for *** addition,the lithium ion full cell also shows good electrochemical performance when paired with high capacity LiNi_(0.8)Co_(0.1)Mn_(0.1)O_(2) *** work provides a feasible electrode design strategy for high-efficiency metal ion batteries based on multidimensional nanoarchitecture engineering and composition tailoring.

In light of the burgeoning energy technology sector and the ever-growing demand for lithium across diverse industrial domains,conventional lithium extraction methods have been proven inadequate due to their limited production capacity and high operational *** work introduces a novel approach to the manganese-titanium based composite HMTO（Mn:Ti=1:4） lithium ion-sieve（LIS） nanospheres,employing lithium acetate dihydrate,manganese carbonate and titanium dioxide P25 as the primary *** nanospheres exhibit relatively uniform spherical morphology,narrow size distribution,small average particle size（ca.55 nm）,large specific surface area(43.58 m2g-1) and high surface O2-content（59.01%）.when utilized as the adsorbents for Li+ions,the HMTO（Mn:Ti=1:4） LIS demonstrates a fast adsorption rate,approaching equilibrium within 6.0 h with an equilibrium adsorption capacity（qe）of 79.5 mg g-1and a maximum adsorption capacity（qm） of 87.26 mg g-1(initial concentration CO:1.8 g L-1).In addition,the HMTO（Mn:Ti=1:4） also delivers a high lithium extraction from the simulated high magnesium-lithium molar ratio salt lake brine（Mg:Li=103）,achieving a qeof 33.85 mg g-1along with a remarkable selectivity(αMgLi=2192.76).Particularly,the HMTO（Mn:Ti=1:4） LIS showcases a satisfactory recycling adsorption *** adsorption capacity remains at a high level,even that determined after the 5th cycle(55.45 mg g-1) surpasses that of the most recently reported ***,the fantastic synergistic lithium adsorption mechanism is deliberately uncovered by leveraging the ion exchange principles and molecular dynamics（MD） simulations.

The synergy of single atoms(SAs)and nanoparticles(NPs)has demonstrated great potential in promoting the electrocatalytic carbon dioxide reduction reaction(CO_(2)RR);however,the rationalization of the SAs/NPs proportion remains one challenge for the catalyst ***,a Ni2+-loaded porous poly(ionic liquids)(PIL)precursor synthesized through the free radical self-polymerization of the ionic liquid monomer,1-allyl-3-vinylimidazolium chloride,was pyrolyzed to prepare the Ni,N co-doped carbon materials,in which the proportion of Ni SAs and NPs could be facilely modulated by controlling the annealing *** catalyst Ni-NC-1000 with a moderate proportion of Ni SAs and NPs exhibited high efficiency in the electrocatalytic conversion of CO_(2)into *** Ni K-edge X-ray absorption near-edge structure(XANES)spectra and theoretical calculations were conducted to gain insight into the synergy of Ni SAs and *** charge transfer from Ni NPs to the surrounding carbon layer and then to the Ni SAs resulted in the electron-enriched Ni SAs active *** the electroreduction of CO_(2),the coexistence of Ni SAs and NPs strengthened the CO_(2)activation and the affinity towards the key intermediate of*COOH,lowering the free energy for the potential-determining*CO_(2)→*COOH step,and therefore promoted the catalysis efficiency.
