Optimization of the methane production in batch anaerobic digestion of maize straw by adjustment of total solid and substrate-to-inoculum ratio based on kinetics

Anaerobic digestion(AD)operating under conditions of organic overload stress typically exacerbates the potential for process instability,thereby resulting in significant economic and ecological *** this investigation,an augmented substrate-to-inoculum ratio(S/I)along with varying total solid content(TS)levels was employed to replicate diverse organic loadings,utilizing maize straw and cattle *** findings reveal that a moderate augmentation in S/I and TS proves advantageous in augmenting methane yield,while an excessive substrate loading diminishes methane yield,hampers the kinetics of methane production,and even induces severe process *** study also displayed the variation of the model parameters for the first-order model,the modified Gompertze model,and the transfer function *** the modified Gompertze model and transfer function model exhibited the same environmental stress ***,both the increase in particulate content and the increase in S/I had a substantial effect on the substrate conversion rate to *** analysis demonstrates the dominant influence of Firmicutes and Methanosarcina under different organic loading *** both a kinetic and a microbiological point of view,this work provides novel insights into the fundamental processes that regulate anaerobic digestion(AD)under varying loading ***,it has significant implications for improving the operating efficiency of AD,which is a significant benefit.

We present a complete study on the j/ψpair hadroproduction at next-to-leading order(NLO)in the nonrelativstic-QCD(NrQCD)framework with the pair of cc¯in either ^(3)S^([1])_(1) or ^(1)S^([8])_(0) fock *** found that the contribution of the ^(1)S^([8])_(0) channel at NLO is essential,and for ATLAS,the NrQCD results can describe the experimental data to a certain extent.

Many migratory birds exhibit interannual consistency in migration schedules,routes and stopover *** the interannual consistency in spatiotemporal characteristics helps understand the maintenance of migration and enables the implementation of targeted conservation *** tracked the migration of Whimbrel(Numenius phaeopus)in the East Asian-Australasian Flyway and collected spatiotemporal data from individuals that were tracked for at least two *** non-parametric tests were used to compare the interannual variations in the dates of departure from and arrival at breeding/nonbreeding sites,and the inter-annual variation in the longitudes when the same individual across the same *** exhibited a high degree of consistency in the use of breeding,nonbreeding,and stopover sites between *** variation of arrival dates at nonbreeding sites was significantly larger than that of the departure dates from nonbreeding and breeding *** used stopover sites by the same individuals in multiple years were concentrated in the Yellow Sea coast during northward migration,but were more widespread during southward *** stopover duration at repeatedly used sites was significantly longer than that at sites used only *** flying across the Yellow Sea,Whimbrels breeding in Sakha(Yakutia)exhibited the highest consistency in migration routes in both autumn and ***,the consistency in migration routes of Yakutia breeding birds was generally higher than that of birds breeding in *** results suggest that the northward migration schedule of the Whimbrels is mainly controlled by endogenous factors,while the southward migration schedule is less affected by endogenous *** repeated use of stopover sites in the Yellow Sea coast suggests this region is important for the migration of Whimbrel,and thus has high conservation value.

An equitable(Ok1, Ok2,..., Okm)-partition of a graph G, which is also called a k cluster m-partition, is the partition of V(G) into m non-empty subsets V1, V2,..., Vm such that for every integer i in {1, 2,..., m}, G[Vi] is a graph with components of order at most k, and for each distinct pair i, j in {1,..., m}, there is-1 ≤ |Vi|-|Vj| ≤ 1. In this paper, we proved that every planar graph G with minimum degree δ(G) ≥ 2 and girth g(G) ≥ 12 admits an equitable(O71, O72,..., O7m)-partition, for any integer m ≥ 2.

Danggui Shaoyao powder improves hepatic lipid metabolism in atherosclerosis mice via PPArγ-LXrα-ABCA1 pathway regulation

Objective To observe the effects of Danggui Shaoyao powder(DSP)on hepatic lipid metabolism and further explore its mechanism of action by peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor(PPArγ)-liver X receptor(LXrα)-adenosine triphosphate(ATP)-binding cassette transporter A1(ABCA1)pathway *** Eight C57BL/6j male mice were selected as the control group,and 24 ApoE^(−/−)male mice were randomly divided into the atherosclerosis model(AS)group,atorvastatin calcium(AC)group,and DSP group(n=8 each group).To establish an AS model,ApoE^(−/−)mice were fed a high-fat diet for 16 *** changes in the aortic vasculature and liver were identified using Oil red O ***(TG),cholesterol(TC),and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C)levels were determined in the livers using a single-reagent GPO-PAP *** quantitative polymerase chain reaction and western blot were used to observe and evaluate the mrNA and protein expression of the PPArγ-LXrα-ABCA1 intermediates in the *** After 16 weeks of a high-fat diet,ApoE−/−mice showed more Oil red O staining in the aorta and liver compared to the CONT *** to the AS group,the DSP and AC treatment reduced aortic plaque and hepatic lipid deposition to varying ***,DSP significantly reduced the hepatic lipid area in ApoE^(−/−)mice(Preased the levels of TG,TC,and LDL-C in liver(Prespectively).DSP also significantly increased the levels of PPArγ,LXrα,ABCA1,and ABCG1 mrNA expression,as well as the PPArγ,LXrα,ABCA1,and ABCG1 protein expression in *** DSP improved hepatic lipid metabolism via PPArγ-LXrα-ABCA1 pathway modulation for AS treatment.

Atomistic study on the microscopic mechanism of grain boundary embrittlement induced by small dense helium bubbles in iron

The helium bubbles induced by 14 MeV neutron irradiation can cause intergranular fractures in reduced activation ferritic martensitic steel,which is a candidate structural material for fusion *** order to elucidate the susceptibility of different grain boundaries(GBs)to helium-induced embrittlement,the tensile fracture processes of 10 types of GBs with and without helium bubbles in body-centered cubic(bcc)iron at the relevant service temperature of 600 K were investigated via molecular dynamics *** results indicate that in the absence of helium bubbles,the GBs studied here can be classified into two distinct categories:brittle GBs and ductile *** atomic scale analysis shows that the plastic deformation of ductile GB at high temperatures originates from complex plastic deformation mechanisms,including the Bain/Burgers path phase transition and deformation twinning,in which the Bain path phase transition is the most dominant plastic deformation ***,the presence of helium bubbles severely inhibits the plastic deformation channels of the GBs,resulting in a significant decrease in elongation at *** bubble-decorated GBs,the ultimate tensile strength increases with the increase in the misorientation ***,the coherent twin boundary∑3{112}was found to maintain relatively high fracture strength and maximum failure strain under the influence of helium bubbles.

It is still a challenge to simultaneously enhance coercivity(H_(cj))and remanence(j_(r))of hot-deformed Nd-Fe-B magnet due to the coercivity-remanence trade-off ***,we achieved this balance between H_(cj)and jr by flake Cu powder assisted DyF_(3)interflake *** Hcj increases from 1218 to 1496 kA/m and jr increases from 1.32 to 1.34 T compared with the original *** show that the width of coarse grain layers reduces because of the introduction of flake Cu,which increases the contact areas of the adjacent grains at ribbon interfaces and suppresses the excessive growth of *** stronger degree of texture and higher density compared with the original magnet should take the responsibility for the increase of j_(r).Additionally,the aggregation regions of rare earth rich(rE-rich)phase reduce and the betterment of the microstructure is another reason for the enhancement of jr in the flake Cu aided DyF_(3)hot-deformed *** strategy of using flake powder additives provides a promising method for optimizing microstructure and enhancing magnetic properties of hot-deformed Nd-Fe-B magnets.

Additive manufacturing of NiTi lightweight porous structures bio-mimicking coral skeleton with enhanced mechanical properties and shape memory functions

Concerning the high demand for lightweight and multifunctional properties of engineering structures, the coral skeleton-inspired sheet-based(CSS) structure, which was a novel bio-mimicking coral skeleton wall-septa architecture with a unique ability to resist wave shocks was fabricated using NiTi alloy by laser powder bed fusion(LPBF) technology. The effects of laser energy density(LED) on surface morphologies, microstructures, phase transformation behavior, and mechanical properties of LPBFfabricated CSS structures were systematically investigated. The results indicated that the size deviation was predominantly governed by powder adhesion and step effect. NiTi CSS structures with LED of 71 j·mm~(-3)possessed superior compressive modulus(~400 MPa), ultimate strength(~13 MPa), and energy absorption efficiency(~69%). The compression fracture mechanism of the LPBF-fabricated NiTi CSS structures was revealed to be predominantly brittle fracture accompanied by ductile fracture. Furthermore, the Ni_4Ti_3 nanoprecipitates induced the precipitation strengthening effect, enabling better shape memory response at LED of 71 j·mm~(-3), with a recoverable strain of 3.63% and recovery ratio of 90.8%, after heating under a pre-strain of 4%. This study highlights the importance of a bionic design strategy for enhancing the mechanical properties of NiTi components and offers the possibility to tailor its functional properties.
