The sluggish reaction kinetics of alkaline hydrogen oxidation reaction(HOR)is one of the key challenges for anion exchange membrane fuel cells(AEMFCs).To achieve robust alkaline HOR with minimized cost,we developed a single atom-cluster multiscale structure with isolated pt single atoms anchored on Ru nanoclusters supported on nitrogen-doped carbon nanosheets(pt1-Ru/NC).The well-defined structure not only provides multiple sites with varied affinity with the intermediates but also enables simultaneous modulation of different sites via interfacial *** addition to weakening Ru–H bond strength,the isolated pt sites are heavily involved in hydrogen adsorption and synergistically accelerate the Volmer step with the help of Ru ***,this catalyst configuration inhibits the excessive occupancy of oxygen-containing species on Ru sites and facilitates the HOR at elevated *** pt1-Ru/NC catalyst exhibits superior alkaline HOR performance with extremely high activity and excellent *** AEMFC with a 0.1 mg·cmpGM^(−2)loading of pt1-Ru/NC anode catalyst achieves a peak powder density of 1172 mW·cm^(−2),which is 2.17 and 1.55 times higher than that of pt/C and ptRu/C,*** work provides a new catalyst concept to address the sluggish kinetics of electrocatalytic reactions containing multiple intermediates and elemental steps.

Our previous study has demonstrated that procyanidin A1(A1) and its simulated digestive product (D-A1) can prevent acrylamide （ACR）-induced cytotoxicity in small intestine cells. However， the potential mechanism remains poorly understood. In this study， ACR treatment was found to increase the levels of 8-hydroxy-deoxyguanine （8-OHdG） and phosphorated histone H2AX (γH2AX)， two DNA damage markers， thereby resulting in cell cycle arrest in the G2/M phase; whereas both A1and D-A1could prevent the phosphorylation of ataxia telangiectasia mutated （ATM） and checkpoint kinase 2 （Chk2）， and then regulate the expression of G2/M phase-related proteins， finally maintaining normal cell cycle progression. Moreover， A1and D-A1could increase the B cell lymphoma 2 （Bcl-2）/Bcl2-associated X （Bax） ratio and decrease the expression of cleaved caspase-3 and cleaved caspase-9 proteins to alleviate ACR-induced cell apoptosis， which might be related to the inhibition of the mitogen-activated protein kinase （MApK） pathway. More importantly， A1showed no remarkable variation in inhibitory effect before and after digestion， indicating that it can endure gastrointestinal digestion and may be a promising phytochemical to alleviate ACR-induced intestinal cell damage.

The biggest challenge for organic phase change materials(pCMs)used in cold energy storage is to maintain high heat storage capacity while reducing the leakage risk of pCMs during the phase transition *** is crucial for expanding their applications in the more demanding cold storage *** this study,novel formstable low-temperature composite pCMs are prepared with mesoporous materials,namely SBA-15 and CMK-3(which are prepared using the template method),as supporting matrices and dodecane as the *** to the combined effects of capillary forces within mesoporous materials and interactions among dodecane molecules,both dodecane/SBA-15 and dodecane/CMK-3 exhibit outstanding shape stability and thermal cycling stability even after 200 heating/cooling *** comparison to those of dodecane/SBA-15,dodecane/CMK-3 exhibits superior cold storage performance and higher thermal ***,the phase transition temperature of dodecane/CMK-3 is-8.81℃ with a latent heat of 122.4 j·g^(-1).Additionally,it has a thermal conductivity of 1.21 W·m^(-1)·K^(-1),which is 9.45 times that of dodecane *** these highlight its significant potential for applications in the area of cold energy storage.

Effect of drying-wetting cycles on pore characteristics and mechanical properties of enzyme-induced carbonate precipitation-reinforced sea sand

Enzyme-induced carbonate precipitation(EICp)is an emanating,eco-friendly and potentially sound technique that has presented promise in various geotechnical ***,the durability and microscopic characteristics of EICp-treated specimens against the impact of drying-wetting(D-W)cycles is under-explored *** study investigates the evolution of mechanical behavior and pore charac-teristics of EICp-treated sea sand subjected to D-W *** uniaxial compressive strength(UCS)tests,synchrotron radiation micro-computed tomography(micro-CT),and three-dimensional(3D)recon-struction of CT images were performed to study the multiscale evolution characteristics of EICp-reinforced sea sand under the effect of D-W *** potential correlations between microstructure characteristics and macro-mechanical property deterioration were investigated using gray relational analysis(GRA).Results showed that the UCS of EICp-treated specimens decreases by 63.7% after 15 D-W *** proportion of mesopores gradually decreases whereas the proportion of macropores in-creases due to the exfoliated calcium carbonate with increasing number of D-W *** micro-structure in EICp-reinforced sea sand was gradually disintegrated,resulting in increasing pore size and development of pore shape from ellipsoidal to columnar and *** gray relational degree suggested that the weight loss rate and UCS deterioration were attributed to the development of branched pores with a size of 100-1000 m m under the action of D-W ***,the results in this study provide a useful guidancee for the long-term stability and evolution characteristics of EICp-reinforced sea sand under D-W weathering conditions.

An anti-icing scaling method for wind tunnel tests of aircraft thermal ice protection system

The efficiency of the aircraft Ice protection Systems(IpSs)needs to be verified through icing wind tunnel ***,the scaling method for testing the IpSs has not been systematically established yet,and further research is *** the present study,a scaling method specifically designed for thermal IpSs was derived from the governing equation of thin water *** scaling parameters were adopted to address the heat and mass transfer involved in the thermal anti-icing *** method validation,icing wind tunnel tests were conducted using a jet engine nacelle model equipped with a bleed air *** non-dimensional surface temperature and runback ice closely matched for both the reference and scaled *** validation confirms that the scaling method is capable of achieving the similarity of surface temperature and the runback ice *** anti-icing scaling method can serve as an important supplement to the existing icing similarity theory.

Space debris environment engineering model 2019:Algorithms improvement and comparison with ORDEM 3.1 and MASTER-8

As an essential tool for realistic description of the current or future debris environment,the Space Debris Environment Engineering Model(SDEEM)has been developed to provide support for risk assessment of *** contrast with SDEEM2015,SDEEM2019,the latest version,extends the orbital range from the Low Earth Orbit(LEO)to Geosynchronous Orbit(GEO)for the years *** this paper,improved modeling algorithms used by SDEEM2019 in propagating simulation,spatial density distribution,and spacecraft flux evaluation are *** debris fluxes of SDEEM2019 are compared with those of three typical models,i.e.,SDEEM2015,Orbital Debris Engineering Model 3.1(ORDEM 3.1),and Meteoroid and Space Debris Terrestrial Environment Reference(MASTER-8),in terms of two assessment *** orbital cases,including the Geostationary Transfer Orbit(GTO),Sun-Synchronous Orbit(SSO)and International Space Station(ISS)orbit,are selected for the spacecraft assessment mode,and the LEO region is selected for the spatial density assessment *** analysis indicates that compared with previous algorithms,the variable step-size orbital propagating algorithm based on semi-major axis control is more precise,the spatial density algorithm based on the second zonal harmonic of the non-spherical Earth gravity(j_(2))is more applicable,and the result of the position-centered spacecraft flux algorithm is more *** comparison shows that SDEEM2019 and MASTER-8 have consistent trends due to similar modeling processes,while the differences between SDEEM2019 and ORDEM 3.1 are mainly caused by different modeling approaches for uncatalogued debris.

Optimization of chemistry and process parameters for control of intermetallic formation in Mg sludges

Intermetallic formation in sludge during magnesium(Mg)melting,holding and high pressure die casting practices is a very important ***,very often it is overlooked by academia,original equipment manufacturers(OEM),metal ingot producers and even die *** aim of this study was to minimize the intermetallic formation in Mg sludge via the optimization of the chemistry and process *** Al8Mn5 intermetallic particles were identified by the microstructure analysis based on the Al and Mn *** design of experiment(DOE)technique,Taguchi method,was employed to minimize the intermetallic formation in the sludge of Mg alloys with various chemical compositions of Al,Mn,Fe,and different process parameters,holding temperature and holding *** sludge yield(SY)and intermetallic size(IS)was selected as two *** optimum combination of the levels in terms of minimizing the intermetallic formation were 9 wt.%Al,0.15 wt.%Mn,0.001 wt.%(10 ppm)Fe,690℃ for the holding temperature and holding at 30 mins for the holding time,*** best combination for smallest intermetallic size were 9 wt.%Al,0.15 wt.%Mn,0.001 wt.%(10 ppm)Fe,630℃ for the holding temperature and holding at 60 mins for the holding time,*** groups of sludge factors,Chemical Sludge(CSF),physical Sludge(pSF)and Comprehensive Sludge Factors(and CpSF)were established for prediction of sludge yields and intermetallic sizes in Al-containing Mg *** CpSF with five independent variables including both chemical elements and process parameters gave high accuracy in prediction,as the prediction of the pSF with only the two processing parameters of the melt holding temperature and time showed a relatively large deviation from the experimental *** Chemical Sludge Factor was primarily designed for small ingot producers and die casters with a limited melting and holding capacity,of which process parameters could be fixed *** physical Sludge Factor could be used f
