The Asian citrus psyllid,Diaphorina citri,is the vector of the pathogenic bacteria that causes Huanglongbing,the most devasting disease affecting citrus *** cultivation of citrus tends to expand northward,the tolerance of psyllids to freezing temperatures needs to be *** mortality of *** to cold temperature has been previously studied,much less is known regarding the acclimation potential of psyllids to cold *** first evaluated cold resistance of *** depending on color morph and ***,we compared mortality of *** at−4°C for 10 hours between unacclimated psyllids,psyllids that were gradually acclimated to cold over 1 or 2 weeks,and psyllids intermittently acclimated also for 1 or 2 *** did not find major differences in cold resistance between color morphs and *** found that after 1 week of gradual acclimation,the survival of psyllids at−4°C increased to 86%,compared to 20%in the control *** did not increase after the second week of gradual *** intermittent acclimation improved survival compared to the control group,it was less effective than gradual acclimation with a survival at 30%and 70%after 1 and 2 weeks of acclimation,respectively,although this difference with gradual acclimation was not significant at week *** data show that gradual cold acclimation allows *** to survive brief periods below *** may serve as a mechanism responsible for increasing northern establishment of this pest.

Interleukin-7 （IL-7） is an essential cytokine for the development and homeostatic maintenance of T and B lymphocytes. Binding of IL-7 to its cognate receptor, the IL-7 receptor （IL-7R）, activates multiple pathways that regulate lymphocyte survival, glucose uptake, proliferation and differentiation. There has been much interest in understanding how IL-7 receptor signaling is modulated at multiple interconnected network levels. This review examines how the strength of the signal through the IL-7 receptor is modulated in T and B cells, including the use of shared receptor components, signaling crosstalk, shared interaction domains, feedback loops, integrated gene regulation, multimerization and ligand competition. We discuss how these network control mechanisms could integrate to govern the properties of IL-7R signaling in lymphocytes in health and disease. Analysis of IL-7 receptor signaling at a network level in a systematic manner will allow for a comprehensive approach to understanding the impact of multiple signaling pathways on lymphocyte biology. The Valab project (Integrated Ecosystemic value-enhancement of the Guadeloupean Forest Agrobiodiversity) is a participatory action research that aims to explore the feasibility of diversification activities within the forest understorey. In the exploratory phase of the project, we studied stakeholders’ opinions on the positive and negative impacts of introducing livestock activities within a forest environment, as well as breeders’ constraints or motivations for setting up livestock units within agroforestry systems in the private forests of Guadeloupe. To establish a diagnosis of the current situation, 51 stakeholders (St) and 49 farmers (Fr) were interviewed on their perceptions, opinions, motivations and preferences. Forty-one percent of the St has had a generally positive appreciation of livestock activities, while on the opposite 31% have had a resolutely negative posture depending on their area of expertise. Their views on the possible positive effects or negative interactions between livestock and agroforestry activities were analysed in order to suggest possible approaches for the authorities or associations. Unanimously, the farmers replied that their motivations followed economic strategies: for self-consumption or sale. But their decision-making processes were also non-economic. Many of them (36% Fr) gave importance to their activity in the construction of their identity, whether it was through a desire to perpetuate traditions or to maintain family activities. The main constraints identified were natural constraints (61% Fr), including topography, climate and predators. While 28% of Fr notified their motivations for environmental protection. Another constraint was of a technical nature (44% Fr) since farmers asked for more technical references or support services. Further researches are required to study the interactions between animals and the undergrowth by describing their respective ecosystem services in order to enhance their positive interactions.

As a classical technique for chaos suppression,the time-delayed feedback controlling strategy has been widely developed by stabilizing unstable periodic orbits(UPOs)embedded in chaotic systems.A critical issue for achieving high controlling precision is to search for an appropriate time *** paper proposes a simple yet effective approach,based on incremental harmonic balance method,to determine the optimal time delay in the delayed feedback *** time delay is adjusted within the iterative scheme provided by the proposed method,and finally converges to the period of the target *** long as the optimal time delay is fixed,moreover,the attained solution makes it quite convenient to analyze its stability according to the Floquet theory,which further provides the effective interval of the feedback gain.

BACKGROUND The long-term impact of vitamin D deficiency and metabolic syndrome(MetS)on cardiovascular disease(CVD)and all-cause mortality are still a matter of *** To test the hypotheses that lower serum 25 hydroxyvitamin D[25(OH)D]concentrations(a marker of vitamin D level)and MetS have a long-term impact on the risk of CVD and all-cause mortality,and individuals with vitamin D deficiency can be identified by multiple *** A sample of 9094 adults,20 to 90 years of age,who participated in the Third National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey(NHANES III,1988 to 1994)were followed through December 2015 was *** associations of serum 25(OH)D concentrations and MetS with CVD and all-cause mortality were analyzed longitudinally using Cox regression *** and regression tree(CART)for machine learning was applied to classify individuals with vitamin D *** Of 9094 participants,30%had serum 25(OH)D concentrations<20 ng/mL(defined as vitamin D deficiency),39%had serum 25(OH)D concentrations between 20 to 29 ng/mL(insufficiency),and 31%had serum 25(OH)D concentrations≥30 ng/mL(sufficiency).Prevalence of MetS was 28.4%.During a mean of 18 years follow-up,vitamin D deficiency and MetS were significantly associated with increased risk of CVD and all-cause *** with both vitamin D deficiency and MetS had the highest risk of CVD mortality(HR=1.77,95%CI:1.22-2.58)and all-cause mortality(HR=1.62,95%CI:1.26-2.09),followed by those with both vitamin D insufficiency and MetS for CVD mortality(HR=1.59,95%CI:1.12-2.24),and all-cause mortality(HR=1.41,95%CI:1.08-1.85).Meanwhile,vitamin D sufficiency significantly decreased the risk of CVD and all-cause mortality for those who even had *** the total study sample,CART analysis suggests that being non-Hispanic Black,having lower serum folate level,and being female were the first three predictors for those with serum 25(OH)D *** Vitamin D defic
