A novel Ga(Ⅲ)coordination complex as an efficient sensitizer for enhancing photocatalytic activity of TiO_(2)/rGO nanocomposite

Narrow solar-light response range and rapid charges recombination are the main technical barriers in TiO_(2) photocatalysis *** overcome these restrictions,in this work we synthesized a novel binuclear gadolinium(Ⅲ) coordination complex,[Gd_(2)(DPDB)_6(DMF)_6(H_(2)O_()2)](DPDB=[(4-dimethylamino)phenyldiazenyl] benzenesulfonate),which was used as an inorganic sensitizer for boosting the visible light-harvesting and quantum efficiency of TiO_(2) supported-reduced graphene oxide(rGO) *** structure of [Gd_(2)(DPDB)_6(DMF)_6(H_(2)O)_(2)](Gd-CMP) was determined from single-crystal X-ray diffraction data,which indicates three-dimensional(3D) supramolecular architecture through hydrogen bonding and CH…π_(ph) *** prepared nanohybrid(Gd-CMP/TG) reveals significantly enhanced visible-light-induced photocatalytic activity for degradation of acetaminophen(ACT).The complete removal of 10 mg/L ACT is achieved over Gd-CMP/TG,and the corresponding rate constant of ACT degradation of nanohybrid is 40-fold higher than that of bare TiO_(2).In prepared ternary nanohybrid,metal-coordination sensitizer(Gd-CMP) acts as an electron donor,and at the same time,rGO serves as an electron acceptor,and the synergistic effect between them efficiently enhances charges separation and inhibits e/h pair recombination in the hybridized *** radical scavenger tests indicate that the photo-induced O_(2)^(-·) radicals dominate ACT *** the basis of the experimental results and calculated energy of electronic levels,a possible mechanism for the improved photocatalytic activity is discussed.

Most recent studies on regeneration of inner ear hair cells focus on use of stem cells, gene therapy and neurotrophic factors. Cochlear gene therapy has been successfully used in the treatment of neu- rosensory hearing loss. This suggests that cochlear hair cell regeneration is possible. The objective of this paper is to review research and clinical application of inner near hair cell regeneration.

Novel single-ion conducting polymer electrolytes with high toughness and high resistance against lithium dendrites

Solid-state polymer electrolytes are considered as an alternative to classic liquid electrolytes,particularly for application in highenergy lithium metal *** respect to common dual-ion conductors,single-ion conducting polymer electrolytes(SICPEs)are less affected by lithium dendrites growth and thus are particularly interesting for application in lithium metal *** this work,novel SIC-PEs are developed,based on an ionomer having poly(ethylene-alt-maleimide)backbone and lithium phenylsulfonyl(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide pendant moieties,further blended with poly(ethylene oxide)(PEO)and poly(ethylene glycol)dimethyl ether(PEGDME).These SIC-PEs exhibit ionic conductivity around~7×10^(−6)S·cm^(−1) at 70℃,lithium transference number close to unity,and excellent mechanical properties,with fracture toughness over 30 j·cm^(−3).Additionally,the electrolytes show very high resistance against lithium dendrites growth,by cycling for more than 1200 h in Li°symmetric cells at a current density of 0.1 mA·cm^(−2).LiFePO4||Li°cells with these SIC-PEs were cycled at 70℃ and C/10,showing initial capacity of almost 160 mAh·g^(−1)and residual capacity of 45%after 100 *** work shows that single-ion conducting polymer electrolytes based on poly(ethylene-alt-maleimide)backbone are promising materials for application as electrolytes or catholytes in lithium metal polymer batteries.

Stem cell therapy in inflammatory bowel disease: A promising therapeutic strategy?

Inflammatory bowel diseases are inflammatory, chronic and progressive diseases of the intestinal tract for which no curative treatment is available. Research in other fields with stem cells of different sources and with immunoregulatory cells(regulatory T-lymphocytes and dendritic T-cells) opens up new expectations for their use in these diseases. The goal for stem cell-based therapy is to provide a permanent cure. To achieve this, it will be necessary to obtain a cellular product, original or genetically modified, that has a high migration capacity and homes into the intestine, has high survival after transplantation, regulates the immune reaction while not being visible to the patient's immune system, and repairs the injured tissue.

We study the Banach-Lie group Ltaut（A） of Lie triple automorphisms of a complex associative H^＊-algebra A. Some consequences about its Lie algebra, the algebra of Lie triple derivations of A, Ltder（A）, are obtained. For a topologically simple A, in the infinite-dimensional case we have Ltaut（A）0 = Aut（A） implying Ltder（A） = Der（A）. In the finite-dimensional case Ltaut（A）0 is a direct product of Aut（A） and a certain subgroup of Lie derivations δ from A to its center, annihilating commutators.

Dear Editor,One of the most serious issues in modern oncology is the ineffectiveness of treatments in destroying tumours,which leads to tumour recurrence and,ultimately,patient *** phenomenon is caused by conventional therapies’fractional killing of tumour cells,which can also cause resistant cells to spread.1 We analysed chemotherapy-resistant cells and discovered that they are smaller than untreated cells(Fig.1a).The fact that this phenomenon occurs in all tested cell types(Hela,A549,Huh7,and MCF7)and regardless of the chemotherapy regimen(TRAIL,Camptothecin,Doxorubicin)suggests that it is a widespread phenomenon(Fig.1a,Supplementary Fig.S1).

Aims Forest vegetation variability may be explained by the complex inter-play among several spatial structuring factors,including climate and *** modelled the spatial variability of forest vegetation assemblages and significant environmental variables along a com-plex environmental gradient or coenocline to produce a detailed cartographic database portraying the distribution of forests along *** We combined an analysis of ordination coenoclines with kriging over 772 field data plots from the third Spanish National Forest Inventory in an Atlantic-Mediterranean transitional area(northern Spain).Important Findings The best fitted empirical semivariogram revealed a strong spatial structure of forest species composition along the complex envi-ronmental gradient considered(the climatic-topographic gradient from north to south).The steady and gradual increase of semivari-ance with a marked lag distance indicates a gradual turnover of forest assemblages according to the climatic-topographic vari-ations(regional or local).Two changes in the slope of the semi-variogram suggest the existence of two different scales of spatial *** interpolation map by Kriging of forest vegetation assemblages along the main coenocline shows a clear spatial dis-tribution pattern of trees and shrubs in accordance with the spa-tial variation of significant environmental *** concluded that the multivariate geostatistical approach is a suitable technique for spatial analysis of forest systems employing data from national forest inventories based on a regular network of field *** development of an assortment of maps describing changes in veg-etation assemblages and variation in environmental variables is expected to be a suitable tool for an integrated forest management and planning.

Diet variability of snappers(Teleostei:Lutjanidae)in a bay-to-reef ecosystem of the Mexican Caribbean

Fishes use environmental resources *** ontogenic movements among coastal habitats lead to diverse *** investigated the diets of seven snapper species(Lutjanus apodus,***,***,***,***,***,and Ocyurus chrysurus)in three interconnected coastal environments in the western Caribbean:Río Huach channel,Chetumal/Corozal bay,and the adjacent Xcalak reef *** three encompass all habitats used by the seven species in the study *** diets were mostly composed of fish and crustaceans,but dominance of either group varied among the studied habitats;for example,fish were the main prey for *** from the reef lagoon zone,but second in the *** are piscivorous-invertivorous mesopredators;the species that relied the most on fishes were *** and ***,whereas *** preferred *** content results revealed a high degree of dietary overlap among *** findings suggested a tradeoff in relative weight between fish and crustaceans as the main food source of snappers at these connected areas,supporting the hypothesis of niche *** results can be used as a baseline to further our understanding of the ecology and differences in resource use by snapper species in an area undergoing important anthropogenic changes.
