A novel nickel stripper using ammonia as the key component was developed to substitute cyanide for removing nickel film from iron substrates. Its compositions are: ammonia 150 g/L, hydrogen peroxide 50 g/L, ammonium chloride 100 g/L, EDTA 7.5 g/L, copper chloride 15 g/L and glucopyrone 1.2 g/L. The optimum operating conditions are: pH 9.511, temperature 4050 ℃ and stripping time 1 h. It shows many advantages over the traditional cyanide stripper including no toxicity, mild operation, lower cost, larger holding capacity, faster stripping rate and good protection for the base metal, and can meet the technical requirements in industry.

在过去几年里,泡沫浮选技术方面的一项重要进展是柱浮选在工业上得到采用。目前加拿大的几家有色金属选矿厂正在采用浮选柱并认为将广泛应用于整个南北美洲。由于浮选柱与常规浮选机在工作原理上显著不同,且了解很少,所以浮选柱按比例放大是困难的。本文论述了实验室浮选柱数据转化为工业生产数据的方法。利用一系列实验室浮选柱实验所得到的动力学数据放大模型,实验室浮选柱可以做成短至2米高。为了模拟,认为浮选柱由两个区组成,即回收矿粒的捕收区和向下流动冲洗水产生的密集泡沫层的精选区。在Gaspe矿山利用工厂浮选柱示踪实验结果描述了捕收区混合状态,上述的这些实验也表明了机械夹带进入精选区的脉石矿物几乎全部排除。这个模型清楚地说明了捕收区和精选区的回收状况、考虑了气泡过载的影响。介绍在Gibraltar矿山的浮选柱放大实验结果。

The temperature and soil moisture conditions as well as vegetation patterns were studied to describe the habitat and to model the life cycle of Melanoplusfrigidus, a true alpine grasshopper of the Scandes. In the low alpine belt of the Norwegian Scandes the species colonizes only the warmest microhabitats with maximum soil surface temperatures of 31℃. Vegetation of these habitats consists of shrub-rich heath dominated by Vaccinium myrtillus and Calluna vulgaris. Using continuously measured temperature data, the development times for four different seasons were modeled and related to field observations. The maximum delay of adult molt was estimated to amount to 3 weeks, the delay being determined by the variation in spring temperature conditions between different years. The possibilities of using M. frigidus as an indicator organism of climate change effects on alpine zoo-coenoses of the Scandes are discussed.

A method based on controlling the complexation precipitation equilibrium of metal ions was proposed to selectively recover nickel and copper from hydroxide sludge formed by lime neutralization of acid mine drainage(AMD). Ethylenediamine(EDA) and ammonium sulfate were chosen as complex reagent and precipitating reagent, respectively, to dissolve target metal hydroxides from sludge and limit useless metal ions in the pregnant solution. Results from both synthetic and natural samples show the excellent selectivity for the target metals(copper and nickel) against Fe(Ⅲ), Ca(Ⅱ) and Mg(Ⅱ), 99% recovery of Cu(Ⅱ) and Ni(Ⅱ) and shorter leaching time can be reached by this process, and the resultant solution can be used for direct electrowinning. The optimum operating conditions are: pH=9～11, ρ (EDA)=40 g/L, ammonium sulfate 50 g/L, leaching time 5 h(for natural sample) and 2.5 h(for synthetic sludge), liquid to solid ratio being 4 with mechanical stirring at room temperature.

The rare earth elements are unusual when defining giant-sized ore deposits,as resources are often quoted as total rare earth oxide,but the importance of a deposit may be related to the grade for individual,or a limited group of the *** the total REE resource,only one currently known deposit（Bayan Obo） would class as giant（〉1.7×10^7 tonnes contained metal）,but a range of others classify as large（〉1.7×10^6 tonnes）.With the exception of unclassified resource estimates from the Olympic Dam 10 CG deposit,all of these deposits are related to alkaline igneous activity- either carbonatites or agpaitic nepheline *** total resource in these deposits must relate to the scale of the primary igneous source,but the grade is a complex function of igneous source,magmatic crystallisation,hydrothermal modification and supergene enrichment during *** data suggest that the sources conducive to the formation of large REE deposits are developed in subcontinental lithospheric mantle,enriched in trace elements either by plume activity,or by previous *** reactivation of such enriched mantle domains in relatively restricted geographical areas may have played a role in the formation of some of the largest deposits（*** Obo）.Hydrothermal activity involving fluids from magmatic to meteoric sources may result in the redistribution of the REE and increases in grade,depending on primary mineralogy and the availability of *** and supergene enrichment of carbonatite has played a role in the formation of the highest grade deposits at Mount Weld（Australia） and Tomtor（Russia）.For the individual REE with the current highest economic value（Nd and the HREE）,the boundaries for the large and giant size classes are two orders of magnitude lower,and deposits enriched in these metals（agpaitic systems,ion absorption deposits） may have significant economic impact in the near future.

Towards intelligent geospatial data discovery:a machine learning framework for search ranking

Current search engines in most geospatial data portals tend to induce users to focus on one single-data characteristic dimension(*** and release date).This approach largely fails to take account of users’multidimensional preferences for geospatial data,and hence may likely result in a less than optimal user experience in discovering the most applicable *** study reports a machine learning framework to address the ranking challenge,the fundamental obstacle in geospatial data discovery,by(1)identifying a number of ranking features of geospatial data to represent users’multidimensional preferences by considering semantics,user behavior,spatial similarity,and static dataset metadata attributes;(2)applying a machine learning method to automatically learn a ranking function;and(3)proposing a system architecture to combine existing search-oriented open source software,semantic knowledge base,ranking feature extraction,and machine learning *** show that the machine learning approach outperforms other methods,in terms of both precision at K and normalized discounted cumulative *** an early attempt of utilizing machine learning to improve the search ranking in the geospatial domain,we expect this work to set an example for further research and open the door towards intelligent geospatial data discovery.
