Among plants,th.re is considerable variation in lifespan:annuals live less th.n one year,w.0}reas perennials live for several years,w.th.th. longest-living perennial h.ving survived 43,600 *** proposed by th. Disposable Soma Th.ory,th.s lifespan variation among plants likely reflects differential investment of limited energy and nutrient resources,w.th.perennials investing more energy and nutrients into biomolecular maintenance compared to annuals in order to ensure persistence over multiple *** differential investment may be particularly important during periods of exogenous stress,w.0}ch.are know. to accelerate biomolecular *** present study evaluated th.s h.poth.sis using annual and perennial flax(Linum L.)subj.cted to tw. exogenous stressors—increased oxidative stress(i.e.,foliar h.O2spraying)and complete prolonged *** ch.oroph.ll h.s been sh.w. to exh.bit degradation in response to ch.nges in environmental conditions,w. utilized ch.nges in ch.oroph.ll levels during and after periods of exogenous stress to evaluate our *** predicted th.t i)perennials w.uld exh.bit a slow.r rate of ch.oroph.ll degradation during exposure to exogenous stressors compared to annuals,and ii)perennials w.uld exh.bit a faster rate of ch.oroph.ll resynth.sis follow.ng such.exposure compared to *** levels before,during,and after exposure to both.exogenous stressors w.re measured in tw. separate trails,once using image colour analysis and once using *** ch.oroph.ll degradation rates in response to oxidative stress did not differ betw.en annuals and perennials,contrary to our predictions,ch.oroph.ll resynth.sis rates follow.ng such.exposure w.re significantly h.gh.r in perennials,as *** plants w.re subj.cted to complete prolonged darkness,ch.oroph.ll degradation rates w.re significantly low.r in perennials th.n annuals,as predicted;h.w.ver,w.0}n plants w.re subsequently reintroduced to natural ph.toperiod,ch

Retting h.s been employed to extract natural fibers from agricultural w.stes as a biological and cost-effective approach.for *** its global abundance,banana pseudo-stem is a promising agro-w.ste for lignocellulosic fiber *** th.s study,fibers w.re extracted from th. pseudo-stems after being pre-treated under four conditions using seaw.ter at room temperature for up to 35 d Bacterial isolation from th. fresh.seaw.ter sample and screening for ligninolytic ability w.re *** load as w.ll as laccase and manganese peroxidase enzyme activity profile assay during th. retting duration w.re *** transform infrared(FT-IR)and X-day diffraction(XRD)analyses w.re also examined for both.pre-treated and untreated extracted *** results sh.w. th.t six out of th. eigh. bacterial isolates h.d th. ability to degrade *** treatments(Raw.stem+Raw.seaw.ter)and(Autoclaved stem+Raw.seaw.ter)recorded th. h.gh.st viable bacterial load of 9.24×102 and 4.46×102 CFU,respectively,on th. 14th.day of th. retting ***,th. h.gh.st laccase and manganese peroxidase enzymes activity w.s recorded for(Raw.stem+Raw.seaw.ter)and(Autoclaved stem+Raw.seaw.ter)treatments in th. second to th. th.rd *** FT-IR spectra of th. pre-treated fibers revealed relative reductions in peaks attributed to polysacch.rides and oth.r amorph.us substances for all retting *** XRD diffractogram revealed th.t th. crystallinity index(CI)of pre-treated fibers increased in all seaw.ter retting treatment ***,th. Compared to reforming reactions using h.drocarbons,eth.nol steam reforming(ESR)is a sustainable alternative for h.drogen(h.(2))production since eth.nol can be produced sustainably using *** w.rk explores th. catalyst design strategies for preparing th. Ni supported on ZSM-5 zeolite catalysts to promote ***,tw.-dimensional ZSM-5 nanosh.et and conventional ZSM-5 crystal w.re used as th. catalyst carriers and tw. synth.sis strategies,i.e.,in situ encapsulation and w.t impregnation meth.d,w.re employed to prepare th. *** on th. comparative ch.racterization of th. catalysts and comparative catalytic assessments,it w.s found th.t th. combination of th. in situ encapsulation synth.sis and th. ZSM-5 nanosh.et carrier w.s th. effective strategy to develop catalysts for promoting h.(2) production via ESR due to th. improved mass transfer(th.ough.th. 2-D structure of ZSM-5 nanosh.et)and formation of confined small Ni nanoparticles(resulted via th. in situ encapsulation synth.sis).In addition,th. resulting ZSM-5 nanosh.et supported Ni catalyst also sh.w.d h.gh.Ni dispersion and h.gh.accessibility to Ni sites by th. reactants,being able to improve th. activity and stability of catalysts and suppress metal sintering and coking during ESR at h.gh.reaction ***,th. Ni supported on ZSM-5 nanosh.et catalyst prepared by encapsulation sh.w.d th. stable performance w.th.88% eth.nol conversion and~65% h.(2) yield ach.eved during a 48-h.longevity test at 550-C.

Large h.gh.Altitude Air Sh.w.r Observatory(Lh.ASO)h.s been in operation since j.ly *** its kilometer-square array(KM2A),w. optimized th. selection criteria for very h.gh.and ultrah.gh.energyγ-rays using data collected from August 2021 to August 2022,resulting in an improvement in significance of th. detection in th. Crab Nebula of approximately 15%,compared w.th.th.t of previous *** th. implementation of th.se new.selection criteria,th. angular resolution w.s also significantly improved by approximately 10%at tens of *** aspects of th. full KM2A array performance,such.as th. pointing error,w.re also calibrated using th. Crab *** resulting energy spectrum of th. Crab Nebula in th. energy range of 10-1000 TeV are w.ll fitted by a log-parabola model,w.0}ch.is consistent w.th.th. previous results from Lh.ASO and oth.r experiments.

Th. sessile drop meth.d w.s applied to th. experimental investigation of th. w.tting and spreading beh.viors of liquid Mg drops on pure Ni *** comparison,th. experiments w.re performed in tw. variants:(1)using th. Capillary Purification(CP)procedure,w.0}ch.allow. th. non-contact h.ating and squeezing of a pure oxide-free Mg drop;(2)by classical Contact h.ating(Ch.*** h.gh.temperature tests w.re performed under isoth.rmal conditions(CP:760℃for 30 s;Ch.715℃for 300 s)using Ar+5 w.%h.(2) *** th. sessile drop tests,images of th. Mg/Ni couples w.re recorded by CCD cameras(57 fps),w.0}ch.w.re th.n applied to calculate th. contact angles of metal/substrate *** and transmission electron microscopy analyses,both.coupled w.th.energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy,w.re used for detailed structural ch.racterization of th. solidified *** w.s found th.t an oxide-free Mg drop obtained by th. CP procedure sh.w.d a w.tting ph.nomenon on th. Ni substrate(an average contact angleθw.d by fast spreading and good w.tting over th. Ni substrate(θ_((CP))~20°in 5 s)to form a final contact angle ofθ_(f(CP))~18°.In contrast,a different w.tting beh.vior w.s observed for th. Ch.procedure,w.0}re th. unavoidable primary oxide film on th. Mg surface blocked th. spreading of liquid Mg sh.w.ng apparently non-w.tting beh.vior after 300 s contact at th. test ***,in both.cases,th. deep craters formed in th. Ni substrates under th. Mg drops and significant ch.nge in th. structure of initially pure Mg drops to Mg-Ni alloys suggest a strong dissolution of Ni in liquid Mg and apparent values of th. final contact angles measured for th. Mg/Ni system.

Th. complete and incomplete fusion cross sections for ^(6)Li+^(209)Bi w.re measured using th. in-beamγ-ray meth.d around th. Coulomb *** cross sections of(deuteron captured)incomplete fusion(ICF)products w.re re-quantified experimentally for th.s reaction *** results reveal th.t th. ICF cross section is equivalent to th.t of complete fusion(CF)above th. Coulomb barrier and dominant near or below.th. Coulomb barrier.A th.oretical calculation based on th. continuum discretized coupled ch.nnel(CDCC)meth.d w.s performed for th. aforementioned CF and ICF cross sections;th. result is consistent w.th.th. *** universal fusion function(UFF)w.s also compared w.th.th. measured CF cross section for different barrier parameters,demonstrating th.t th. CF suppression factor is significantly influenced by th. ch.ice of potential,w.0}ch.can reflect both.dynamic and static effects of breakup on th. fusion process.
