Experience of primary intestinal lymphangiectasia in adults: Twelve case series from a tertiary referral hospital

BACKGROUND While primary intestinal lymphangiectasia(PIL)is considered a rare condition,there have been several reported cases in ***,the absence of clear guidance from diagnosis to treatment and prognosis poses challenges for both physicians and *** To enhance understanding by investigating clinical presentation,diagnosis,treatment,complications,and prognoses in adult PIL *** We enrolled adult patients diagnosed with PIL between March 2016 and September *** primary outcome involved examining the diagnosis and treatment process of these *** secondary outcomes included identifying complications(infections,thromboembolism)and assessing prognoses(frequency of hospitalization and mortality)during the follow-up *** Among the 12 included patients,peripheral edema(100%)and diarrhea(75%)were the main presenting *** tests showed that all the pati-ents exhibited symptoms of hypoalbuminemia and ***,the predominant findings were edema of the small intestine(67%)and ascites(58%).The typical endoscopic finding with a snowflake appearance was observed in 75%of *** the 12 patients,two responded positive-ly to octreotide and sirolimus,and eight who could undergo maintenance therapy discontinued *** due to PIL led to infection in half of the patients,thromboembolism in three patients,and one *** PIL can be diagnosed in adults across various age groups,with different severity and treatment responses among patients,leading to diverse complications and ***,tailored treatments will be *** anticipate that our findings will contribute to the management of PIL,an etiology of protein-losing enteropathy.

Sri Lankan cassava mosaic virus(SLCMV)is a prominent causative agent of cassava mosaic disease in Asia and relies on the whitefly Bemisia tabaci cryptic complex for its ***,the molecular mechanisms involved in SLCMV transmission by *** have yet to be *** this study,we identified an aminopeptidase N-like protein(BtAPN)in *** Asia II 1,an efficient vector of SLCMV,which is involved in the SLCMV transmission *** the use of glutathione S-transferase pull-down assay and LC-MS/MS analysis,we demonstrated the interaction between BtAPN and the coat protein(CP)of *** interaction was further confirmed in vitro,and we observed an induction of BtAPN gene expression following SLCMV *** interfering with the function of BtAPN,the quantities of SLCMV were significantly reduced in various parts of *** Asia II 1,including the whole body,midgut,hemolymph,and primary salivary ***,we discovered that BtAPN is conserved in *** Middle East-Asia Minor 1(MEAM1)and interacts with the CP of tomato yellow leaf curl virus(TYLCV),a begomovirus known to cause severe damage to tomato *** BtAPN with antibody led to a significant reduction in the quantities of TYLCV in whitefly whole body and organs/*** results demonstrate that BtAPN plays a generic role in interacting with the CP of begomoviruses and positively regulates their acquisition by the whitefly.

Coordinated morphogenic adaptation of growing plants is critical for their survival and propagation under fluctuating *** morphogenic responses to light and warm temperatures,termed photomorphogenesis and thermomorphogenesis,respectively,have been extensively studied in recent *** photomorphogenesis,plants actively reshape their growth and developmental patterns to cope with changes in light ***,photomorphogenesis is closely associated with diverse growth hormonal ***,accumulating evidence indicates that light-directed morphogenesis is profoundly affected by two recently identified phytochemicals,karrikins(KARs)and strigolactones(SLs).KARs and SLs are structurally related butenolides acting as signaling molecules during a variety of developmental steps,including seed *** receptors and signaling mediators have been identified,and associated working mechanisms have been explored using gene-deficient mutants in various plant *** particular interest is that the KAR and SL signaling pathways play important roles in environmental responses,among which their linkages with photomorphogenesis are most comprehensively studied during seedling *** this review,we focus on how the phytochemical and light signals converge on the optimization of morphogenic *** also discuss molecular mechanisms underlying the signaling crosstalks with an aim of developing potential ways to improve crop productivity under climate changes.

Hypoxia is a typical feature of the tumor microenvironment,one of the most critical factors affecting cell behavior and tumor ***,the lack of tumor models able to precisely emulate natural brain tumor tissue has impeded the study of the effects of hypoxia on the progression and growth of tumor *** study reports a three-dimensional(3D)brain tumor model obtained by encapsulating U87MG(U87)cells in a hydrogel containing type I *** also documents the effect of various oxygen concentrations(1%,7%,and 21%)in the culture environment on U87 cell morphology,proliferation,viability,cell cycle,apoptosis rate,and ***,it compares two-dimensional(2D)and 3D *** comparison purposes,cells cultured in flat culture dishes were used as the control(2D model).Cells cultured in the 3D model proliferated more slowly but had a higher apoptosis rate and proportion of cells in the resting phase(G0 phase)/gap I phase(G1 phase)than those cultured in the 2D ***,the two models yielded significantly different cell ***,hypoxia(e.g.,1%O2)affected cell morphology,slowed cell growth,reduced cell viability,and increased the apoptosis rate in the 3D *** results indicate that the constructed 3D model is effective for investigating the effects of biological and chemical factors on cell morphology and function,and can be more representative of the tumor microenvironment than 2D culture *** developed 3D glioblastoma tumor model is equally applicable to other studies in pharmacology and pathology.

Computed tomography-based radiomics diagnostic approach for differential diagnosis between early-and late-stage pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma

CRBFT:A Byzantine Fault-Tolerant Consensus Protocol Based on Collaborative Filtering Recommendation for Blockchains

Blockchain has been widely used in finance,the Internet of Things(IoT),supply chains,and other scenarios as a revolutionary *** protocol plays a vital role in blockchain,which helps all participants to maintain the storage state ***,with the improvement of network environment complexity and system scale,blockchain development is limited by the performance,security,and scalability of the consensus *** address this problem,this paper introduces the collaborative filtering mechanism commonly used in the recommendation system into the Practical Byzantine Fault Tolerance(PBFT)and proposes a Byzantine fault-tolerant(BFT)consensus protocol based on collaborative filtering recommendation(CRBFT).Specifically,an improved collaborative filtering recommendation method is designed to use the similarity between a node’s recommendation opinions and those of the recommender as a basis for determining whether to adopt the recommendation *** can amplify the recommendation voice of good nodes,weaken the impact of cunningmalicious nodes on the trust value calculation,andmake the calculated resultsmore *** addition,the nodes are given voting power according to their trust value,and a weight randomelection algorithm is designed and implemented to reduce the risk of *** experimental results show that CRBFT can effectively eliminate various malicious nodes and improve the performance of blockchain systems in complex network environments,and the feasibility of CRBFT is also proven by theoretical analysis.

The infection kinetics and transmission potential of two Guaico Culex viruses in Culex quinquefasciatus mosquitoes

Guaico Culex virus(GCXV)is a newly identified segmented j.ngmenvirus from Culex *** in Central and South *** genome of GCXV is composed of four or five single-stranded positive Rna ***,the infection kinetics and transmission capability of GCXV in mosquitoes remain *** this study,we used reverse genetics to rescue two GCXVs(4S and 5S)that contained four and five Rna segments,respectively,in C6/36 *** in vitro characterization revealed that the two GCXVs exhibited comparable replication kinetics,protein expression and viral ***,GCXV Rnas were detected in the bodies,salivary glands,midguts and ovaries of Culex quinquefasciatus at 4–10 days after oral *** addition,two GCXVs can colonize *** eggs,resulting in positive rates of 15%–35%for the second gonotrophic *** conclusion,our results demonstrated that GCXVs with four or five Rna segments can be detected in *** eggs during the first and second gonotrophic cycles after oral infection.

Dynamic Modelling of a Hybrid Variable Reluctance Machine Using the 3D Finite Element Method

This paper presents the work carried out to evaluate the dynamic performance of the Hybrid Variable Reluctance Motor (HVRM). The fourth-order Runge-Kutta integration algorithm was employed to solve the equations of the dynamic model, in conj.nction with the three-dimensional finite element method. The 3D numerical data was calculated using Comsol Multiphysics, which accounts for the nonlinearity of the ferromagnetic material and the 3D nature of the HVRM. The outcomes of this study are precise and accurately predict the dynamic behaviour of the HVRM in terms of rotor position response, rotational speed and torque. The distinctive contribution of this work lies in the 3D numerical modelling of the HVRM and the subsequent evaluation and analysis of its dynamic operation. Analytical and numerical 2D studies are less resource-intensive and time-consuming, and are more straightforward and rapid to analyse and interpret. However, they are constrained in their capacity to examine spatial, volumetric interactions and intricate dynamics such as flux studies where three 3D effects cannot be disregarded, winding end effects and the configuration and positioning of the interposed permanent magnet.
