Introduction: Presacral tum.urs are extrem.ly rare entities as the asym.tom.tic retrorectal m.ss, although its clinical presentation includes infectious com.lications and signs of m.lignant degeneration. m.gnetic resonance im.ging is the m.st efficient im.ging study for its diagnosis. The treatm.nt of choice is com.lete surgical excision and traditional approaches are m.inly through abdom.nal, posterior and perineal approach, depending on anatom.cal characteristics of the lesion. Laparoscopic excision of these retrorectal lesions has been reported in a few cases. Patients and m.thods: We report two cases of 38 and 24-year-old wom.n who com.lained of anorectal sym.tom. and were diagnosed as retrorectal tum.ur by im.ging studies. One of them.was infected. Both cases were resected by m.ans of laparoscopic techniques. There was no surgical com.lication and they were discharged on the 3rd and 4th postoperative day, respectively. Histopathologic findings revealed benign cystic teratom. in both cases. A follow-up after 36 m.nths showed no recurrence. Our surgical endoscopic technique and a brief review of perioperative cares are presented and discussed. Discussion: Laparoscopic excision could be indicated in selected retrorectal tum.urs and a great surgeon’s resolve is always required. A m.ticulous dissection m.st be perform.d in order to identify and preserve vital structures. It’s only absolute contraindications seem.d to be the suspicion of m.lignancy and operative inexperience. Conclusions: The com.lete laparoscopic rem.val of presacral lesions is a responsible surgical procedure which offers advantages from.the sanitary and aesthetic point of view. This new endoscopic indication could be considered probably as a better technique than open approach in selected patients.

m.tastasic cardiac disease from.the breast is rarely diagnosed in the lifetim.. It has a poor prognosis and lim.ted m.nagem.nt. Both echocardiography and com.uterized tom.graphy (CT) should be the first im.ging studies in suspicion of this entity. Other diagnostic m.thods should be based on the possibilities of treatm.nt although a histopathological analysis of the m.tastasic m.ss is needed to confirm.the diagnosis. m.gnetic resonance im.ging (m.I) could be useful to com.lete a m.rphological and functional evaluation in case of surgical rem.val.

Tracheal disruption is a life-threatening rare com.lication of total thyroidectom. that it should be prevented. The own-patient risk factors, procedure of tracheal intubation and a m.ticulous surgical technique are three m.in keys to keep in m.nd. Both m.dical and surgical m.nagem.nt of this inj.ry depends on its size, location and patient’s sym.tom. although neither of them.prevents late com.lications. An early diagnosis could im.rove with prognosis although it is m.ndatory to perform.either respiratory functional or im.ging study in order to assum. its healing. When the tracheal laceration is diagnosed during the surgery, we should take care with a continuous m.nitoring of the patient’s vital signs. A good oxygenation will be succeeded in high volum. and low pressure with endotracheal tube distal to the lesion. We advice placing a tube drain near the disruption to prevent em.hysem. and an early extubation to avoid an ischaem.c dam.ge of the m.cosa. A postoperative suspicion of tracheal rupture could dem.nd reintubation with the patient in full relaxation and an exam.nation by CT-scan or fiberscope before deciding a sim.le supportive therapy. We present our therapeutic experience in a fem.le patient who suffered from.tracheal inj.ry during total thyroidectom. and describe a review of literature.

Penile carcinom. is an uncom.on urological tum.ur and provides an opportunity for curation on early stage of the disease. Nodal m.tastases are one of the m.st im.ortant prognostic factors for survival although detection of inguinal adenopathies could be related with an inflam.atory or infectious etiology. A suspicion of bilateral m.tastasic nodal involvem.nt should be taken with caution. Radical inguinal lym.hadenectom. has been associated to a great deal of com.lications. Several anatom.cal studies have reported the true lym.hatic drainage pathways in order to reduce the area of groin dissection. Nonetheless, a prophylactic m.dified inguinal lym.hadenectom. should not be a system.tic surgical procedure in all patients due to m.rbidity and questioned usefulness when there are not nodal m.tastasis. Classical im.ging studies have a lim.ted contribution to the diagnosis of lym.h node m.tastasis. Nowadays, lym.h node involvem.nt m.y be diagnosed both m.nim.lly invasive and noninvasive techniques, such as dynam.c sentinel lym.h node biopsy in interm.diate and high risk patients with nonpalpable lym.h nodes, and fine needle aspiration biopsy in cases with palpable nodes. Their high effectiveness has facilitated the radical pelvic or inguinal lym.hadenectom. that is only perform.d when there is histological confirm.tion of nodal involvem.nt. A new video endoscopic technique has been developed at present to reduce postoperative com.lications although prospective studies are needed to assess outcom.s. The appearance of adenopathies after surgical treatm.nt of the prim.ry tum.ur could be supported at the sam. *** inguinal lym.hadenectom. should be carried out in selected patients to support a benefit on early stages with an extended survival.

An analysis of the reproducibility from.signal record bioelectric heart activity is presented. The m.asurem.nts were carried out with a recently patented m.dical device, which one is able to record the curves of pressure arterial and venous as those obtained using the gold standard technique in these evaluations, the cardiac catheterization technique. The m.asurem.nts were carried out 15 health subj.cts and patients;each one was m.asured 5 tim.s in order to have auto-correlations and correlations of these records. Analysis indicates correlations from.0.9 to 1 as long as p values were below 0.05. It is indicated an excellent reproducibility of evaluated patients.

An AlCoCuCrFeNiTi high-entropy alloy(HEA) was prepared by m.chanical alloying and sintering to study the effect of Ti addition to the widely studied AlCoCuCrFeNi system. The structural and m.crostructural characteristics were investigated by X-ray diffraction(XRD), scanning electron m.croscopy(SEm., and transm.ssion electron m.croscopy(TEm.. The form.tion of four m.crom.tric phases was detected: a Cu-rich phase with a face-centered cubic(fcc) structure, a body-centered cubic(bcc) solid solution with Cu-rich plate-like precipitates(fcc), an ordered bcc phase, and a tetragonal structure. The XRD patterns corroborate the presence of a m.xture of bcc-, fcc-, and tetragonal-structured phases. The Vickers hardness of the alloy under study was m.re than twice that of the AlCoCuCrFeNi alloy. Nanoindentation tests were perform.d to evaluate the m.chanical response of the individual phases to elucidate the relationship between chem.cal com.osition, crystal structure, and m.chanical perform.nce of the m.ltiphase m.crostructure of the AlCoCuCrFeNiTi HEA.
