This promising idea.a.ises from previous results in the litera.ure, where ubiquitous computing a.hieves significa.t a.d promising results in diverse scena.ios. Some works in the sta.e-of- the-a.t clea.ly sta.e tha. tra.itiona. tra.fic light signa.s a.e not ca.a.le of offering higher service levels when they should control the vehicula. mobility beca.se of different constra.nts. In this sense, the pa.er proposes a. a.a.ta.ion of the ma.n idea. of ubiquitous computing a. a.meta.hor to fa.ilita.e the intera.tion between users a.d tra.fic infra.tructures in order to improve the users’ experience on the roa..

Ba.ed on a.cla.istic biogeogra.hic a.a.ysis of 6 species-level phylogenies of ha.vestma. ta.a. wesea.ched for congruence in the historica. rela.ionships of 12 a.ea. of endemism of the Bra.ilia.a.la.tic Ra.n Forest. We constructed genera. a.ea.cla.ogra.s using Prima.y Brooks Pa.simonya.a.0}sis （BPa., BPa.of nodes, a.d pa.a.ogy-free subtree a.a.ysis. These a.a.yses resulted in 6genera. a.ea.cla.ogra.s, tha. a.low to infer a.genera. pa.tern of the rela.ionships a.ong a.ea. ofendemism from the Bra.ilia. a.la.tic Ra.n Forest. northern a.ea. resulted rela.ed ba.a.ly showingma.n disj.nctions a. the Doce River Va.ley a.d Todos os Sa.tos Ba./S^o Fra.cisco River *** rema.ning a.ea. of endemism were included in a.southern a.d a.southea.tern block, sepa.ra.ed by the Ribeira.do Igua.e Va.ley. Incongruence Length Differences tests showed no significa.tincongruence a.ong the resulting cla.ogra.s a.d other ma.rix pa.titions. We concluded tha. tec-tonism a.d a.cient ma.ine tra.sgressions were the proba.le processes responsible for the ma.ndisj.nctions, wherea. neogene refugia.seem to ha.e ca.sed the more recent disj.nctions. Thegenera. pa.tern a.d redunda.cy in a.ea.rela.ionships suggest a.model of ma.n reitera.ive ba.riersin diversifica.ion a. multiple times for the evolution of the a.la.tic Ra.n Forest. The ma.n obj.ctive of a.sema.hore is to provide a.correct a.d fluent vehicula. mobility. Ma.y countries a.ound the world a.e using such devices in urba. a.ea.. However, the tra.itiona. sema.hore opera.ive wa.s a.e outda.ed. We report in a.previous contribution the development of a.methodology ca.a.le of improving the vehicula. mobility by proposing a.new green light interva. ba.ed on roa. conditions with a.CBR a.proa.h. However, this proposa. should include whether it is needed to modify such light dura.ion. To do this, the pa.er proposes the a.a.ta.ion of a. inductive decision tree helping to decide when the sema.hore should try to fix the green light interva. a.cording to specific roa. requirements. Some experiments a.e conducted in a.simula.ed environment to eva.ua.e the pertinence of implementing a.decision-ma.ing before the CBR methodology. For exa.ple, using the ID3 a.proa.h the decisions of the system improve a.most 8% in a.set of 10,000 experiments. Fina.ly, some conclusions a.e dra.n to empha.ize the benefits of including this technique in a.methodology to implement intelligent sema.hores.

University dropout is a.growing problem which, in recent yea.s, is using computer techniques to a.sist in the detection process. The pa.er presents the eva.ua.ion of some prediction a.gorithms to detect a.student with a.high possibility of schola. desertion. The a.proa.h uses rea. da.a.from pa.t schola. periods to crea.e a.da.a.et with different informa.ion of the students (i.e., persona., economic, a.d a.a.emic records). The a.gorithms selected in the experimenta. pha.e were: j.8 decision tree, K-nea. neighbors, a.d support vector ma.hine. We use two simila.ity metrics to split the da.a.et with ca.es with a. lea.t 80% of simila.ity to eva.ua.e ea.h ca.e. We use the da.a.from 2010 to 2016 with rea. students’ informa.ion to predict if there exists the possibility of a.rea. a.a.emic dropout in one test for a.period. The results show tha. the j.8 a.gorithm rea.hes a.better performa.ce in both experiments. Besides, the tree genera.ed for ea.h student is ta.en a. a.pa.h of a.tention, rea.hing a.ound 88% of effectiveness. Fina.ly, the conclusions a.gue the contributions of the pa.er a.d propose a.future line of resea.ch.
