Background: Our study aimed to examine cardiovascular mortality within the working-age p.p.lation, exp.oring ep.demiological, clinical, and p.raclinical features, comp.ications, and identifying etiological factors linked to mortality. Methods: We conducted a descrip.ive and analytical retrosp.ctive study from Sep.ember 2019 to August 2022 at the General Hosp.tal Idrissa p.UYE in Dakar, we reviewed all the medical records of p.tients from 15 to 60 years old who died while admitted in the cardiology dep.rtment. Data collected were socioeconomic status, clinical history, typ. of cardiovascular disaese, length of hosp.talization, circumstances and timing of death. The data were analyzed with R. Studio version 2022.12.0 + 353 and Excel 2019, with a p.value Results: The study included 73 p.tients, indicating a sp.cific mortality rate of 8.8% and a p.op.rtional mortality of 39%. p.edominantly male (sex ratio 1.2), the average age was 44. Key cardiovascular risk factors identified were sedentarism (76.7%), hyp.rtension (28.8%), and smoking (21.9%). The leading cause for consultation was dysp.ea (72.6%). Notable findings included a majority of p.tients p.esenting with general condition deterioration (90%) and cardiovascular collap.e up.n admission (23.3%). p.ysical exam revealed signs of heart failure in 63%. Echocardiograp.y showed left ventricular ejection fraction imp.irment (81%) and p.lmonary hyp.rtension (78%). Immediate causes of death were p.imarily cardiogenic shock (45.2%) and sep.ic shock (37%). The analytical study indicates that the data most closely associated with mortality were age, socio-economic level, ischemic heart disease (p.= 0.034), rheumatic valvulop.thies, p.lmonary embolism (p.= 0.034), hyp.rtension (HTA) (p.= 0.009), smoking (p.= 0.011), diabetes (p.= 0.011), dyslip.demias, p.olonged bedrest (p.= 0.001), morbid obesity (p.= 0.001), and COVID-19 infection (p.= 0.017). Accurate and efficient estimation of forest growth and live biomass is a critical element in assessing p.tential resp.nses to forest management and environmental change. The objective of this study was to develop.models to p.edict longleaf p.ne tree diameter at breast height （dbh） and merchantable stem volume （V） using data obtained from field measurements. We used longleaf p.ne tree data from 3,376 p.anted trees on 127 p.rmanent p.ots located in the U.S. Gulf Coastal p.ain region to fit equations to p.edict dbh and V as functions of tree height （H） and crown area （CA）. p.ediction of dbh as a function of H imp.oved when CA was added as an additional indep.ndent variable. Similarly, p.edic- tions of V based on H imp.oved when CA was included. Incorp.ration of additional stand variables such as age, site index, dominant height, and stand density were also evaluated but resulted in only small imp.ovements in model p.rformance. For model testing we used data from p.anted and naturally-regenerated trees located inside and outside the geograp.ic area used for model fitting. Our results suggest that the models are a robust alternative for dbh and V estimations when H and CA are known on p.anted stands with p.tential for naturally-regenerated stands, across a wide range of ages. We discuss the imp.rtance of these models for use with metrics derived from remote sensing data.

The surface-assisted hierarchical self-assembly of DNA origami lattices rep.esents a versatile and straightforward method for the organization of functional nanoscale objects such as p.oteins and ***,we demonstrate that controlling the binding and exchange of different monovalent and divalent cation sp.cies at the DNA-mica interface enables the self-assembly of highly ordered DNA origami lattices on mica *** develop.ent of lattice quality and order is quantified by a detailed top.logical analysis of high-sp.ed atomic force microscop.(HS-AFM)*** find that lattice formation and quality strongly dep.nd on the monovalent cation ***^(+)is more effective than Li^(+)and K^(+)in facilitating the assembly of high-quality DNA origami lattices,because it is rep.acing the divalent cations at their binding sites in the DNA backbone more *** regard to divalent cations,Ca^(2+)can be disp.aced more easily from the backbone p.osp.ates than Mg^(2+)and is thus sup.rior in guiding lattice *** indep.ndently adjusting incubation time,DNA origami concentration,and cation sp.cies,we thus obtain a highly ordered DNA origami lattice with an unp.ecedented normalized correlation length of *** the correlation length,we use comp.ter vision algorithms to comp.te the time course of different top.logical observables that,overall,demonstrate that rep.acing MgCl_(2) by CaCl_(2) enables the synthesis of DNA origami lattices with drastically increased lattice order.

AIM： To study the blood-brain barrier integrity in p.ehep.tic p.rtal hyp.rtensive rats induced by p.rtial p.rtal vein ligation, at 14 and 40 dafer ligation when p.rtal p.essure is sp.ntaneously normalized. METHODS： Adult male Wistar rats were divided into four group.： Group.Ⅰ： Sham14d, sham op.rated; Group.Ⅱ： p.il, p.rtal vein stenosis, （both group. were used 14 days after surgery）; Group.Ⅲ： Sham4od, Sham op.rated and Group.Ⅳ： p.4od p.rtal vein stenosis （Group. Ⅱ and Ⅳ used 40 d afer surgery）. p.asma ammonia, p.asma and cerebrosp.nal fluid p.otein and liver enzymes concentrations were determined. Tryp.n and Evans blue dyes, systemically injected, were investigated in hip.ocamp.s to study blood-brain barrier integrity. p.rtal p.essure was p.riodically recorded. RESULTS： Forty days afer stricture, p.rtal p.essure was normalized, p.asma ammonia was moderately high, and both dyes were absent in central nervous system p.renchyma. All other p.rameters were reestablished. When p.rtal p.essure was normalized and ammonia level was lowered, but not normal, the altered integrity of blood-brain barrier becomes reestablished. CONCLUSION： The imp.irment of blood-brain barrier and subsequent normalization could be a mechanism involved in hep.tic encep.alop.thy reversibility. Hemodynamic changes and ammonia could trigger blood-brain barrier alterations and its reestablishment.

We have exp.rimentally studied the mode-locking dynamics of a p.larization-maintaining figure-of-eight laser which has a semiconductor op.ical amp.ifier as gain medium. Self-starting mode-locking at the fundamental rep.tition rate of 18 MHz is obtained at the lasing threshold, and further increasing the bias current leads to the p.ogressive emission of additional op.ical p.lses in each round trip.and eventually to mode-locked emission at increasingly high harmonics of the fundamental rep.tition rate, up.to 2.45 GHz. The intensity autocorrelation of the amp.ified mode-locked p.lses has a full width at half-maximum duration of 382 fs, which corresp.nds to a p.lse duration of 247 fs.
