Plant formation from in vitro-cultivated microspores involves a complex network of internal and environmental ***/doubled haploids(DHs)derived from in vitro-cultured microspores are widely used in plant breeding and genetic ***,the mechanism underlying the developmental switch from regular pollen maturation towards microspore-derived plant regeneration remains poorly ***,rNA-sequencing was employed to elucidate the transcriptional landscapes of four early stages of microspore embryogenesis(ME)in barley cultivars Golden Promise and Igri,which exhibit contrasting responsiveness to microspore-derived plant *** experiments revealed fundamental regulatory networks,specific groups of genes,and transcription factor(TF)families potentially regulating the developmental *** identified a set of candidate genes crucial for genotype-dependent responsiveness/recalcitrance to *** high-resolution temporal transcriptome atlas provides an important resource for future functional studies on the genetic control of microspore developmental transition.

Measuring the characteristics of seawater constituent is in great demand for studies of marine ecosystems and ***,existing techniques based on remote sensing or in situ samplings present various tradeoffs with regard to the diversity,synchronism,temporal-spatial resolution,and depth-resolved capacity of their data ***,we demonstrate a novel oceanic triple-field-of-view(FOV)high-spectral-resolution lidar(HSrL)with an iterative retrieval *** technique provides,for the first time,comprehensive,continuous,and vertical measurements of seawater absorption coefficient,scattering coefficient,and slope of particle size distribution,which are validated by simulations and field ***,it depicts valuable application potentials in the accuracy improvement of seawater classification and the continuous estimation of depth-resolved particulate organic carbon *** triple-FOV HSrL with high performance could greatly increase the knowledge of seawater constituents and promote the understanding of marine ecosystems and biogeochemistry.

Investigation of insect immune mechanisms provides important information concerning innate immunity, which in many aspects is conserved in animals. This is one of the reasons why insects serve as model organisms to study virulence mechanisms of human pathogens. From the evolutionary point of view, we also learn a lot about host-pathogen interaction and adaptation of organisms to conditions of life. Additionally, insect-derived antibacterial and antifungal peptides and proteins are considered for their potential to be applied as alternatives to antibiotics. While Drosophila melanogaster is used to study the genetic aspect of insect immunity, Galleria mellonella serves as a good model for biochemical research. Given the size of the insect, it is possible to obtain easily hemolymph and other tissues as a source of many immune-relevant polypeptides. This review article summarizes our knowledge concerning G. mellonella immunity. The best-characterized immune-related proteins and peptides are recalled and their short characteristic is given. Some other proteins identified at the mrNA level are also mentioned. The infectious routes used by Galleria natural pathogens such as Bacillus thuringiensis and Beauveria bassiana are also described in the context of host-pathogen interaction. Finally, the plasticity of G. mellonella immune response influenced by abiotic and biotic factors is described.

The AISI316L stainless steel composites reinforced with 2, 4, 6, and 8 vol% titanium diboride （TiB2） particles were sintered by the high pressure-high temperature method. Ball-on-disk method was carried out to study wear behavior of the composites. Tests were carried out at room temperature. The TiB2 particles improved the hardness and tribological properties of the composites. The friction coefficient of the composites decreased with the increasing content of TiB2. The reduction of the wear rate with the increasing of the content of TiB2 particles in the steel matrix was also observed. It is demonstrated that the friction coefficient of composites with the same content of TiB2 particles depend on the sintering conditions.

This paper presents the integration of seismic refraction and multichannel analysis of surface wave(MASW)measurements to investigate the anisotropy of P-and S-wave ***,synthetic forward modelling is presented as a tool for supporting seismic anisotropy *** geophysical measurements of cracks allowed to recognise the fracturing of a granite rock mass in a Paleozoic granite quarry(Strzegom,Poland)and a dolomite rock mass in a Triassic dolomite quarry(Podlesna,Poland).Application of the forward modelling supports the interpretation of seismic methods,simplifying data processing and verifying the final results based on data from difficult seismic *** a result of direct measurements,two crack systems were determined in granite rock mass:NNE-SSW and NNW-SSE,and two in dolomite rock mass:NNE-SSW and ***,the numerical results show the relationship between the highest values of P-and S-wave velocities and separated crack systems which allowed an unequivocal interpretation of the direction of stress,resulting in the *** obtained information is promising to be helpful in mining exploration for optimising excavation works.

The filamentous fungus Beauveria bassiana is a natural pathogen of the greater wax moth Galleria *** with this fungus triggered systemic immune response in ***;nevertheless,the infection was lethal if spores entered the insect *** observed melanin deposition in the insect cuticle and walls of air bags,while the invading fungus interrupted tssue *** have shown colonization of muscles,air bags,and finally colonization and complete destruction of the fat body-the main organ responsible for the synthesis of defense molecules in response to *** destruction was probably not caused by simple fungal growth,because the fat body was not destroyed during colonization with a human opportunistic pathogen Candida *** may mean that the infecting fungus is able to destroy actively the insect's fat body as part of its virulence ***,we were unable to reduce the extremely high virulence of *** against *** by priming of larvae with thermally inactivated fungal spores.

Objective:Disturbances in lipid and lipoprotein profiles in patients after kidney transplantation (Tx) are still not understood. Methods:Serum levels of lipids,lipoprotein,triglyceride-rich lipoproteins (TrLs),and high-density lipoprotein (HDL) particles were determined,lipid and lipoprotein ratios were calculated,and their relationships in Tx patients with hypertriglyceridemia (HTG) and lower apolipoprotein AI (apoAI) concentration were examined. Serum lipid and lipoprotein levels were measured in 109 Tx patients and 89 healthy subjects. HDL particle levels were de-termined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). results:Tx patients had disturbed concentration,com-position,and metabolism of TrLs and HDL particles. Multivariance analysis showed significant and positive correlation between HDL cholesterol/apoAI (HDL-C/apoAI) and HDL-C/HDL ratios,which indicates that both ratios could sensi-tively reflect changes in the HDL subclasses and their distribution into smaller size particles. In Tx patients,the de-creased HDL-C/apoAI ratio indicates that,along with the decreased apoAI concentration,the HDL-C level is de-creased. However,a low HDL-C/HDL ratio indicates that HDL particles in Tx patients transport lesser content of HDL-C but more triglyceride (TG) (high TG/HDL ratio),and thus are hypercatabolized and removed; therefore,con-centration of HDL particles in serum was decreased. Conclusion:The decrease of HDL-C/apoAI ratio seems to be a good marker of HDL subclass distribution into smaller size particles.

This research analyzed interventions of State Fire Service(SFS)units in the Wielkopolska region of Poland that were triggered by extreme precipitation for the period *** results demonstrated that the most populated and urbanized towns in the Wielkopolska(Greater Poland,west of Warsaw)region are at the most risk in the event of extreme precipitation occurrence as measured by the total number of interventions made by the *** number of SFS unit interventions in towns,standardized to 10,000 inhabitants,indicates that the highest proportional volume of interventions also occurred in smaller *** the rural municipalities the number of SFS unit interventions increases along with higher population density and proportion of infrastructure *** analyzed in this study,the 12 years from 2010 to 2021 were characterized by a higher number of days with heavy precipitation,for example,20,30,40,and 50 mm,in comparison to the previous periods 1961-2010 and *** databases collected by emergency services are a valuable source of information for hazard *** on those and other available data,a statistical model was created and factors influencing the local and regional occurrence of interventions were *** suburbanization,the rising proportion of impermeable surfaces,and the impact of climate change are of considerable importance in urban flood *** is necessary to help municipalities develop abilities to absorb larger amounts of rainwater.
