Families need sufficient learning opportunities about mental illness. Therefore, family peer education program has been developed in Japan following the U.S. and Hong Kong. We aimed to identify program components that families recognize which would provide suggestions in modifying the program. We used qualitative and inductive study design. Data were collected through group interviews for six family research participants. We coded the data to focus on relationships between program components, program processes, and impacts. Data Analysis resulted in seven assumptions based on causal relationships and three types of program components: program form, learning style and facilitation skills. The program form is family-led peer group, closed-membership, 5 times per course, and small group. The learning style is combination of textbook and experiential knowledge, family peer learning, and sharing experiences. The facilitation skills are group work focusing on strengths of family members, the acceptance of emotional disclosure, omotenashi, and teamwork skills.

Separation and determination of metal ions based on the formation of chelate anions with 1-Nitroso-2, 7-dihydrexynaphthalene-3, 6-disulfonic acid (1N2, 7O3, 6S) was studied by rising HPCE of the nine metal ions examined, the ions that can be detected sensitively with 1-Nitroso-2, 7-dihydrexynaphthalene-3, 6-disulfonic acid were Fe2+, Co2+, Cu2+, Ni2+, Zn2+ and Pd2+. The cobalt chelate could exist in two oxidation states of cobalt. When TBA(+) were added in electrophoretic solutions, the drastic changes in elertrophoretic mobilities of chelate were observed, which was due to the ion association between chelates anions and TBA(+). The ion association constants of chelate anions with TBA(+) were determined by using the change in electrophoretic mobilities of chelates, metal ions tested were separated within 10 min using 30cm silica capillary (50 m i. d).

The accumulation of genetic alterations in driver genes is responsible for the development and malignant progression of colorectal cancer. Comprehensive genome analyses have revealed the driver genes, including APC, KRAS, TGFBR2, and TP53, whose mutations are frequently found in human colorectal cancers. Among them, the p53 mutation is found in ~60% of colorectal cancers, and a majority of mutations are missense-type at ‘hot spots’, suggesting an oncogenic role of mutant p53 by ‘gain-of-function’ mechanisms. Mouse model studies have shown that one of these missense-type mutations, p53 R270H (corresponding to human R273H), causes submucosal invasion of intestinal tumors, while the loss of wild-type p53 has a limited effect on the invasion process. Furthermore, the same mutant p53 promotes metastasis when combined with Kras activation and TGF-β suppression. Importantly, either missense-type p53 mutation or loss of wild-type p53 induces NF-κB activation by a variety of mechanisms, such as increasing promoter accessibility by chromatin remodeling, which may contribute to progression to epithelial–mesenchymal transition. These results indicate that missense-type p53 mutations together with loss of wild-type p53 accelerate the late stage of colorectal cancer progression through the activation of both oncogenic and inflammatory pathways. Accordingly, the suppression of the mutant p53 function via the inhibition of nuclear accumulation is expected to be an effective strategy against malignant progression of colorectal cancer.

Performance analysis for power generating system by using matrix method

We verified that the matrix method, a process analysis method used mainly for life cycle inventory analysis, has several advantages in the analysis of power systems, which have recently become more complex to enhance efficiency and to reduce C02 emissions. While designing a conceptual thermodynamic model of a complex power system, the matrix method provides a definite procedure and facilitates calculations, even if there is a recttrsive loop between the upstream and downstream processes. Similarly, in the case of partial modification to the constructed model, the matrix method can potentially reduce the time and effort required to calculate the thermodynamic balances, even if the constructed model is designed by others. In this study, we obtained mass flow and energy balances of example model power systems by the matrix method from the common thermodynamic conditions including temperatures and pressures which are set on the basis of an existing industrial steam power system. While analyzing the environmental impact of complex multiproduct power systems, such as carbon emissions, the matrix method can be used to easily derive the environmental impact of each final product. We could verify the efficacy of the matrix method in accurately deriving that of an example model power system.

In this paper, a measurement method for cross-sectional temperature distribution is addressed. A novel method based on an acoustic CT technique is proposed. Specifically, the temperature distributions are estimated using the time of flight data of several ultrasonic propagation paths. The times of the flight data contain both temperature and wind effect, and the method to select only temperature component is introduced. A filtered back projection method is applied to reconstruct the temperature distributions from the time of flight data. An experimental system was designed and fabricated to realize simultaneous temperature and wind velocity distribution measurements. Through this system, the effectiveness of the proposed measurement method is confirmed.

A new extractant, [N,N-di（2-ethylhexyl）aminolmethylphenylphosphinic acid （DEAPP）, was synthesized to de- velop the mutual separation techniques of In（Ⅲ）, Ga（Ⅲ） and Zn（Ⅱ）. The extraction selectivity for In（Ⅲ）, Ga（Ⅲ） and Zn（Ⅱ） with DEAPP was higher than that of the commercial phosphorus acid extractants such as D2EHPA and PC-88A. The extraction selectivity for metal ions in 1 mob L 1 aqueous ammonium nitrate solution with DEAPP was in the following order： In（Ⅲ）〉 Ga（Ⅲ）〉 Zn（Ⅱ）. These selective extraction behaviors indicate that the amino moiety of DEAPP plays an important role in the mutual separation of ln（Ⅲ）, Ga（Ⅲ） and Zn（ll）. The extraction equilibria of In（Ⅲ）, Ga（Ⅲ） and Zn（Ⅱ） with DEAPP （ = HR） were expressed by the following reactions： In3＋＋ 2（HR）2 InR3（HR）＋ 3H＋, Ga3＋＋ 1.5（HR）2 ＋ N- = GaR2（HR）（NO3）＋ 2H＋, and Zn2＋ 4- 2（HR）2 ZnR2 （HR） 2 determined 4- 2H＋. The extraction equilibrium constants of In（Ⅲ）, Ga（Ⅲ） and Zn（Ⅱ） with DEAPP were to be Kex, M = 1.7 × 104 [*** 1], 4.17 [（***-1）s], and 1.55 × 10 2 [-], respectively.

The present study describes the complexation between curcumin(Cur) and a peptide mixture(Pep). Pep was prepared by enzymatic hydrolysis of casein and used as an excipient for poorly water-soluble Cur. An aqueous solution of Pep and an acetone solution of Cur were mixed and lyophilized to obtain a white-yellow powder of the peptide and Cur complex(CurPep). The water dispersibility of Cur was enhanced by the complexation with Pep. Pep was fractionated using ammonium sulfate precipitation and ultrafiltration to identify which peptides preferentially interact with Cur. Relatively hydrophobic peptides with high molecular weights(>5 k Da) were more effective in enhancing the water dispersibility of Cur than other fractions. Cur-Pep dispersed under acidic and neutral conditions, at which amphoteric Pep is positively or negatively charged. Cur-Pep exists as a hydrocolloid with particle size 160–330 nm in aqueous media.

We propose a simple model for turbulent contribution to the frictional drag in a wall-bounded turbulent flow based on the characteristic parameters of turbulent bursting events, it is verified on water and drag-reducing surfactant solution flows investigated by particle image velocimetry in experiments. It is obtained that the turbulent contribution to the skin friction factor is linearly proportional to the product of the spatial frequency and strength of turbulent bursts originated from the wall.
