The network of Himalayan roadways and highways connects some remote regions of valleys or hill slopes,which is vital for India’s socio-economic *** to natural and artificial factors,frequency of slope instabilities along the networks has been increasing over last few *** of stability of natural and artificial slopes due to construction of these connecting road networks is significant in safely executing these roads throughout the *** rock mass classification methods are generally used to assess the strength and deformability of rock *** study assesses slope stability along the nH-1A of ramban district of north Western *** structurally and non-structurally controlled rock mass classification systems have been applied to assess the stability conditions of 14 *** evaluating the stability of these slopes,kinematic analysis was performed along with geological strength index(GSI),rock mass rating(rMr),continuous slope mass rating(CoSMr),slope mass rating(SMr),and Q-slope in the present *** SMr gives three slopes as completely unstable while CoSMr suggests four slopes as completely *** stability of all slopes was also analyzed using a design chart under dynamic and static conditions by slope stability rating(SSr)for the factor of safety(FoS)of 1.2 and 1 respectively.Q-slope with probability of failure(PoF)1%gives two slopes as stable *** slope angle has been determined based on the Q-slope safe angle equation and SSr design chart based on the *** value ranges given by different empirical classifications were rMr(37-74),GSI(27.3-58.5),SMr(11-59),and CoSMr(3.39-74.56).Good relationship was found among rMr&SSr and rMr&GSI with correlation coefficient(r 2)value of 0.815 and 0.6866,***,a comparative stability of all these slopes based on the above classification has been performed to identify the most critical slope along this road.

The rapid integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into critical sectors has revealed a complex landscape of cybersecurity challenges that are unique to these advanced technologies. AI systems, with their extensive data dependencies and algorithmic complexities, are susceptible to a broad spectrum of cyber threats that can undermine their functionality and compromise their integrity. This paper provides a detailed analysis of these threats, which include data poisoning, adversarial attacks, and systemic vulnerabilities that arise from the AI’s operational and infrastructural frameworks. This paper critically examines the effectiveness of existing defensive mechanisms, such as adversarial training and threat modeling, that aim to fortify AI systems against such vulnerabilities. In response to the limitations of current approaches, this paper explores a comprehensive framework for the design and implementation of robust AI systems. This framework emphasizes the development of dynamic, adaptive security measures that can evolve in response to new and emerging cyber threats, thereby enhancing the resilience of AI systems. Furthermore, the paper addresses the ethical dimensions of AI cybersecurity, highlighting the need for strategies that not only protect systems but also preserve user privacy and ensure fairness across all operations. In addition to current strategies and ethical concerns, this paper explores future directions in AI cybersecurity.

AIM： To evaluate the gastro-protective effect of capsaicin against the ethanol- and indomethacin （InD）-induced gastric mucosal damage in healthy human subjects. METHODS： The effects of small doses （1-8 μg/mL, 100 mL） of capsaicin on the gastric acid secretion basal acid output （BAO） and its electrolyte concentration, gastric transmucosal potential difference （GTPD）, ethanol- （5 mL 300 mL/L i.g.） and InD- （3×25 mg/d） induced gastric mucosal damage were tested in a randomized, prospective study of 84 healthy human subjects. The possible role of desensitization of capsaicin-sensitive afferents was tested by repeated exposures and during a prolonged treatment. rESULTS： Intragastric application of capsaicin decreased the BAO and enhanced “non-parietal” component, GTPD in a dose-dependent manner. The decrease of GTPD evoked by ethanol was inhibited by the capsaicin application, which was reproducible. Gastric microbleeding induced by InD was inhibited by co-administration with capsaicin, but was not influenced by two weeks pretreatment with a daily capsaicin dose of 3×400μg i.g. COnCLUSIOn： Capsaicin in low concentration range protects against gastric injuries induced by ethanol or InD, which is attributed to stimulation of the sensory nerve endings.

Traumatic amputations remain one of the most frequent and disturbing wounds of armed *** this scenario,most amputees develop residual and phantom limb pain,impacting their quality of *** are several elective surgical procedures available for both conditions,such as neuroma excision followed by nerve reconstruction,nerve relocation,e.g.,surgically implanting a transected nerve into a muscle,nerve transfers in cases of associated paralysis,and most recently,regenerative peripheral nerve interface *** possible in the post-conflict phase,a coordinated effort between traveling humanitarian surgeons specializing in reconstructive microsurgery and local healthcare providers is essential for successfully treating phantom and chronic residual limb pain in post-conflict *** providing a detailed logistical framework for global humanitarian missions is beyond the scope of this article,we provide a brief perspective on a topic of utmost importance for reconstructive surgeons worldwide:the high-quality care and treatment of refugees and those whose lives have been impacted by conflict,disaster,or displacement.

The discrete element method(DEM)has become a valuable tool for understanding the mechanical behaviour of granular assemblies,however,the accuracy of the DEM simulations depends on several interaction parameters such as the sliding friction and rolling friction ***,these parameters are estimated using bulk calibration approach(BCA)where the draw down test has been suggested as an effective way to approach these *** test provides up to four bulk criteria,the angle of repose,shear angle,mass flow rate and the mass loss which are used to narrow down the possible ***,there is still more research needed around it to fully understand how this methodology *** experimental and numerical study was carried out using the draw down test to assess the influence of different mass flow rates and particle shapes on DEM parameters for a cohesionless bulk *** is concluded that use of multi-sphere particles and three aperture sizes in the draw down test to calibrate the sliding and rolling friction parameters of a cohesionless bulk material can converge to a small feasible region in which a single combination of the friction coefficients can be *** calibrated sliding and rolling friction coefficients were validated using multi-sphere particles,where the maximum deviation was 5.9%from the experimental values.

Switched reluctance motors(SrMs)are becoming increasingly popular in the automotive sector owing to their robust ***,SrMs are preferred particularly for EV applications owing to their fault tolerance,magnet-free structure,and high power/torque *** main concerns of SrM compared to other machines include torque ripple and *** primary cause of vibration is the radial force created by the SrM.A geometry-based modification of the SrM to reduce the radial force without significantly changing the average torque produced is *** primary goal is to design a 4-phase,8/6 SrM with a lower radial *** possible geometrical alterations are proposed:one with square windows and the other with circular holes on the rotor *** windows are sized and positioned to avoid flux *** criteria are developed for the optimal window size and *** element analysis(FEA)modelling of the SrM is used to validate its *** FEA results are compared with the performance parameters obtained using the analytical *** the multiphysics design tool AnSYS to obtain the natural frequencies and associated deformations through modal *** to the conventional geometry,the radial force is significantly reduced by providing windows.

Vision-simulated imagery―the process of generating images that mimic the human visual system―is a valuable tool with a wide spectrum of possible applications, including visual acuity measurements, personalized planning of corrective lenses and surgeries, vision-correcting displays, vision-related hardware development, and extended reality discomfort reduction. A critical property of human vision is that it is imperfect because of the highly influential wavefront aberrations that vary from person to person. This study provides an overview of the existing computational image generation techniques that properly simulate human vision in the presence of wavefront aberrations. These algorithms typically apply ray tracing with a detailed description of the simulated eye or utilize the point-spread func-tion of the eye to perform convolution on the input image. Based on the description of the vision simulation tech-niques, several of their characteristic features have been evaluated and some potential application areas and research directions have been outlined.
