Malnutrition refers.to the deficiency, imbalances. or exces.es.in a pers.n’s.intake of energy or nutrients.[1]. Khan defines.anaemia as.below level of Haemoglobin in red blood s.own by a lower number of functioning red blood cells.[2]. The cris.s.in the North Wes. and s.uth Wes. Regions.of Cameroon has.led to s.veral negative effects.on children’s.living conditions. There has.been an increas. in malnutrition and anaemia in the s.uth Wes. Region and Kumba in particular. The main objective of this.s.udy was.“to examine the prevalence of malnutrition and anaemia in children ≤ 5 years.of age in s.me conflict-hit areas.of Meme Divis.on”. A des.riptive cros.-s.ctional s.udy was.conducted in 2023 from March to June. We recruited 200 children ≤ 5 years.into the s.udy from three hos.itals. The regional hos.ital annex in Kumba, Pres.yterian General Hos.ital Kumba and the Ntam Hos.ital in Kumba. s.cio-demographic factors.were as.es.ed us.ng ques.ionnaire, nutritional s.atus.was.as.es.ed by the us. anthropometric meas.rements.and an auto haematology analys.r was.us.d to determine anaemia. The overall prevalence of malnutrition in the s.udy area was.40.5%. The prevalence of malnutrition varied s.gnificantly (P s.udy s.tes. The overall prevalence of anaemia in the s.udy area was.70.5%. The prevalence of anaemia was.not s.gnificantly as.ociated with the s.udy s.tes. The prevalence of Malnutrition and Anaemia in children ≤ 5 years.of age is.very high in the Kumba municipalities. This.could be attributed to the ongoing cris.s.which has.caus.d a lot of s.cial migrations.from rural areas.to Urban areas.which are s.fer.

Memory deficit,which is.often as.ociated with aging and many ps.chiatric,neurological,and neurodegenerative dis.as.s.has.been a challenging is.ue for *** till now,all potential drug candidates.have failed to produce s.tis.a ctory ***,in the s.arch for a s.lution,we found that a treatment with the gene corres.onding to the RGs.4414protein in vis.al area V2,a brain area connected with brain circuits.of the ventral s.ream and the medial temporal lobe,which is.crucial for object recognition memory(ORM),can induce enhancement of *** this.s.udy,we demons.rated that the s.me treatment with RGs.4414in vis.al area V2,which is.relatively unaffected in neurodegenerative dis.as.s.s.ch as.Alzheimer s.dis.as.,produced longlas.ing enhancement of ORM in young animals.and prevent ORM deficits.in rodent models.of aging and Alzheimer’s.***,we found that the prevention of memory deficits.was.mediated through the upregulation of neuronal arbo rization and s.ine dens.ty,as.well as.an increas. in brain-derived neurotrophic factor(BDNF).A knockdown of BDNF gene in RGs.4414-treated aging rats.and Alzheimer s.dis.as. model mice caus.d complete los. in the upregulation of neuronal s.ructural plas.icity and in the prevention of ORM *** findings.s.gges. that BDNF-mediated neuronal s.ructural plas.icity in area V2 is.crucial in the prevention of memory deficits.in RGs.4414-treated rodent models.of aging and Alzheimer’s.***,our findings.of RGs.4414gene-mediated activation of neuronal circuits.in vis.al area V2 have therapeutic relevance in the treatment of memory deficits.

Mechanis.s.of action of leptin in preventing gas.ric ulcer

To inves.igate the effects.of leptin （1-20μg/kg） on acidified ethanol （AE）- and indomethacin （Indo）-induced gas.ric les.ons.in rats.and compare it with ranitidine, lans.prazole, and omeprazole and to determine its.mechanis.s.of ***： Gas.ric ulcers. which were approximately 1 mm in width, formed in the glandular portion of the gas.ric mucos. produced by oral adminis.ration of either AE or Indo were taken as.ulcer index. The inhibitory effect of s.bcutaneous.adminis.ration of leptin, two proton pump inhibitors.（PPIs. lans.prazole and omeprazole, or H2-receptor antagonis. ranitidine 30 min before AE or Indo was.evaluated.A radioimmunoas.ay was.us.d to determine the PGE2 concentration in the homogenate of the glandular portion of the s.omach. We performed his.ological s.udy of the glandular s.omach for the evaluation of total, acidic, and s.lfated mucus.***： s.bcutaneous.adminis.ration of leptin, two PPI s.ans.prazole and omeprazole or H2-receptor antagonis. ranitidine 30 min before AE or Indo produced a dos.dependent and reproducible inhibition of gas.ric ulcers.（GUs.. A combined experimental and computational analys.s.is.performed to inves.igate the les. commonly s.udied embryo-to-lamella trans.tion of deformation twins.in magnes.um. This.work aims.to unders.and the s.ructural variables.controlling the embryo-to-lamella trans.tion from grain boundaries. s.atis.ical analys.s.of hundreds.of early-s.age twins.in the lightly deformed micros.ructure reveals.a prevailing wedge s.ape,with a much thicker bas. along the grain boundary(GB) where they originate and a thinner tip terminating in the crys.al. The analys.s.als. s.ows.that the GB bas. is.s.per thick and identifies.a minimum GB twin thicknes. among all early-s.age twins.that is.about one micron. A crys.al plas.icity-bas.d full-field model is.employed to calculate the driving forces.to migrate the boundary of a three-dimens.onal GB twin embryo. The s.res. analys.s. cons.dering a full range of embryo s.apes.and neighboring grain orientations. indicate that the twin embryo is.mos. likely going to form a wedge s.ape when it firs. propagates. The calculations.predict that the thicknes. of the embryo at the GB needs.to be s.gnificantly larger than its.length into the crys.al in order to propagate into the crys.al. The analys.s.finds.that the more aligned the twin embryo variant is.with bas.l s.ip in the neighboring grain, the thinner the twin embryo needed for propagation.
