Plant Pb Contents in Elevation Zones of the Changbai Mountain National Nature Reserve, china

Typical plants and soils of four elevation zones, mountain tundra （Zone A）, Betula ermanii forest （Zone B）, mountain dark coniferous forest （Zone C）, and mountain coniferous and broad-leaf forest （Zone D）, along the vertical gradient of the northern mountain slope of the Changbai Mountain National Nature Reserve, Jilin Province, china, were sampled to study the relationship between plant and soil Pb, and to compare the Pb levels in typical plant types within the same elevation zone. The Pb contents in the soil and plant samples were measured by using a flame atomic absorption spectrophotometer. The results showed that the average plant Pb contents of the four plant elevation zones were lower than the average worldwide level, except for Zone B. Compared with the average level in china or the average worldwide level, the soil Pb levels of the four plant zones were higher, with Zones D and B having the lowest and highest averages, respectively. Plant Pb levels fluctuated from the upper to the lower zones, in a pattern of low-high-low-high, which was the same as that of the soils in the four zones. Furthermore, plant Pb was closely related to soil Pb. Depending on the plant species and plant parts, large differences were found in the Pb levels of typical plants within each zone. In Zone A, Vaccinium uliginosum and Rhododendron redowskianum had higher Pb levels than the other plants. In Zone C, the Pb levels in the branches of both plant species were higher than those in the leaves, which was contrary to Zone D. In Zone B, the Pb levels in the plant parts varied greatly with plant species.

The Ashele Cu-Zn deposit is a typical VMS deposit in chinese Altay located in the southern margin of the Altaid *** deposit occurred in the polyphase fold system,and the main orebody is located at the hinge of the *** orebodies show lenticular form,and are stratabound by a suite of early to middle Devonian bimodal volcanic *** hosting basalt is low K tholeiite and characterized with high Mg,Fe,Ca and low K,*** basalts show flat REE pattern with Ce negative anomaly(Ce/Ce 0.73-0.76).Niobium,Ta, Zr,Hf are depleted and Rb,Ba,Th,U,Sr,Pb are enriched with respect to the *** the Sr and Nd isotopes show depleted properties,while the(Sr/Sr) and theε(t)range from 0.70469 to 0.70488 and 4.6 to 5.3,*** geochemical and isotopic data from the hosting basalt show that it originates from an island arc *** also report the S isotope data from the massive orebody,andδS‰change from 1.8‰to 5.6‰.The S isotope data provide evidence that the sulfur originates from a mixing source between magma and seawater *** propose that the mafic magma provides the ore-forming metal and some percentage of sulfur,while it also acts as a heat engine which makes the fluids leach the metal from the underlying volcanic *** the geological characteristics of the Ashele and geochemical data,and comparing with other Cu-Zn VMS deposits in the world,we propose that Ashele formed in *** arc setting.

Strategic energy storage can guarantee the sustainable development of a nation’s *** storage caverns established in rock salt mass have become one of the important means of storing energy because of the very-low permeability and self curing ability of rock ***,ground subsidence will occur due to the obvious creep of rock salt mass and may lead to serious consequences during the period of cavern construction and operation. The main focus of this paper is the numerical modelling of the development of ground subsidence caused by the construction and operation of the Jintan gas storage cavern facility. A finite element method(FEM)analysis was used to simulate the development of the ground *** this simulation,the rock salt mass was modelled as an elastic creep material and the surrounding bedrock was modelled as an elastic *** Jintan gas storage facility is located in Jiangsu province of china and includes several caverns that are generally spaced 90-110 m *** settlement models were developed and the results are presented. The first model(Case 1)considers the case of settlement developed at the ground surface by a single *** second model(Case 2)considers the ground settlement resulting from two adjacent caverns spaced 100 m apart.

The electron density profiles in the bottomside F-layer ionosphere are described by the thickness parameter B0 and the shape parameter B1 in the International Reference Ionosphere(IRI) *** collected the ionospheric electron density(N) profiles from the FOR-MOSAT -3/COSMIC(F3/C) radio occultation measurements from DoY(day number of year) 194,2006 to DoY 293,2008 to investigate the daytime behaviors of IRI-B parameters(B0 and B1) in the equatorial *** fittings confirm that the IRI bottomside profile function can well describe the averaged profiles in the bottomside *** of the equatorial electron density profile datasets provides unprecedented detail of the behaviors of B0 and B1 parameters in equatorial regions at low solar *** longitudinal averaged B1 has values comparable with IRI-2007 while it shows little seasonal *** contrast,the observed B0 presents semiannual variation with maxima in solstice months and minima in equinox months,which is not reproduced by ***,there are complicated longitudinal variations of B0 with patterns varying with *** are distinct in the wave-like longitudinal structure of B0 in equinox *** outstanding feature is that a stable peak appears around 100°E in four *** significant longitudinal variation of B0 provides challenges for further improving the presentations of the bottomside ionosphere in IRI.

A three-level baroclinic ocean model has been developed for studying climate and climatic *** large-scale features of temperature field,such as the belt of cold water,strong upwelling and the maincurrents in the Pacific Ocean,have been *** simulated results show that the seasonal variation of current is related to that of trade wind *** simulated equatorial countercurrent is strong in summerand weak even vanished in *** south equatorial current,north of the equator is stronger in winter thanin summer,but the contrary is the case with the current existing in the Southern Hemisphere.
