Sodium metal battery(SMB)technology is one of the most promising candidates for next-generation rechargeable energy storage systems due to its high theoretical capacity and economical ***,its practical implementation is hindered by several challenges including short life-span and fast capacity decay,which is closely related to the uncontrollable generation of the sodium ***,a nitrogen and oxygen co-doped three-dimensional carbon cloth with hollow tubular fiber units was constructed as the host material for Na plating(Na@CC)to tackle these *** obtained composite electrode can effectively reduce the nucleation overpotential of Na,guide the homogeneous Na^(+)flux,increase the kinetics of Na electrodeposition,lower the effective current density and eventually suppress the formation of electrochemically inactive Na *** a result,batteries built with the Na@CC composites exhibited stable long-term cycling *** gain an in-depth and comprehensive understanding of such phenomena,non-destructive and three-dimensional synchrotron X-ray tomography was employed to investigate the cycled ***,the COMSOL Multiphysics simulation was further employed to reveal the Na electrodeposition *** current work not only showcases the feasibility of currently proposed sodiophilic 3 D Na@CC composite electrode but also provides fundamental insights into the underlying working mechanisms that govern its outstanding electrochemical performance.

Learn More about Your Data: A Symbolic Regression Knowledge Representation Framework

In this paper, we propose a flexible knowledge representation framework which utilizes Symbolic Regression to learn and mathematical expressions to represent the knowledge to be captured from data. In this approach, learning algorithms are used to generate new insights which can be added to domain knowledge bases supporting again symbolic regression. This is used for the generalization of the well-known regression analysis to fulfill supervised classification. The approach aims to produce a learning model which best separates the class members of a labeled training set. The class boundaries are given by a separation surface which is represented by the level set of a model function. The separation boundary is defined by the respective equation. In our symbolic approach, the learned knowledge model is represented by mathematical formulas and it is composed of an optimum set of expressions of a given superset. We show that this property gives human experts options to gain additional insights into the application domain. Furthermore, the representation in terms of mathematical formulas (e.g., the analytical model and its first and second derivative) adds additional value to the classifier and enables to answer questions, which sub-symbolic classifier approaches cannot. The symbolic representation of the models enables an interpretation by human experts. Existing and previously known expert knowledge can be added to the developed knowledge representation framework or it can be used as constraints. Additionally, the knowledge acquisition framework can be repeated several times. In each step, new insights from the search process can be added to the knowledge base to improve the overall performance of the proposed learning algorithms.

Observed Suspended Sediment Dynamics during a Tidal Cycle above Submerged Asymmetric Compound Sand Waves

The data from Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler （ADCP） of the three-dimensional current-field, echo intensity, modulation of Suspended Sediment Concentration （SSC）, and related water levels and wind velocities have been analyzed as a function of water depth above submerged asymmetric compound sand waves during a tidal cycle in the Lister Tiefofthe German Bight in the North Sea. Signatures of vertical current component, echo intensities and calculated SSC modulations in the water column depend strongly on wind and current velocity. Bursts of vertical current component and echo intensity are triggered by sand waves itself as well as by superimposed megaripples due to current wave interaction at high current ≥ 1.0 m＇s1 and wind speeds ≥ 10.0 m·s^-1, preferably of opposite directions, measured at high spatial resolution. The magnitude of currents and SSC modulations during ebb and flood tidal current phases are only weakly time dependent, whereas the local magnitudes of these parameters are variable in space above the sand waves. Some hydrodynamic parameters are further investigated and analyzed, showing a consistence of ADCP measurements in the applied theory.

The uncontrollable Li electrostripping and plating process that results in dendritic Li growth and huge volume change of Li anode limits the practicality of Li metal batteries(LMBs).To simultaneously address these issues,designing three-dimensional(3D),lithiophilic and mechanically robust electrodes seems to be one of the cost-effective ***,a new 3D Li-B-C-Al alloy anode is designed and *** prepared 3D alloy anode exhibits not only superior lithiophilicity that facilitates uniform Li nucleation and growth but also sufficient mechanical stability that maintains its structural *** performance of the prepared 3D alloy is demonstrated through comprehensive electrochemical *** addition,non-destructive and 3D synchrotron X-ray computed tomography(SX-CT)technique is employed to investigate the underlying working mechanisms of the prepared alloy anode.A unique twofold Li electrostripping and plating mechanism under different electrochemical cycling conditions is ***,improved performance of the full cells built with the 3D alloy anode and LiNi_(0.8)Co_(0.1)Mn_(0.1)O_(2)(NCM811)cathode corroborate its potential application ***,the current work not only showcases the superiority of the 3D alloy as potential anode material for LMBs but also provides fundamental insights into its underlying working mechanisms that may further propel its research and development.

Spatially Resolved Photoelectric Performance of Axial GaAs Nanowire pn-Diodes

The spatially resolved photoelectric response of a single axial GaAs nanowire pn-diode has been investigated with scanning photocurrent and Kelvin probe force microscopy. Optical generation of carriers at the pn-junction has been shown to dominate the photoresponse. A photocurrent of 88 pA, an open circuit voltage of 0.56 V and a fill factor of 69% were obtained under AM 1.5 G conditions. The photocurrent followed the increasing photoexcitation with 0.24 A/W up to an illumination density of at least 90 W/cm2, which is important for potential applications in concentrator solar cells.

自上个世纪90年代末以来,国内学者和政策决策者对集群的集群政策表现出日益浓厚的兴趣。由于现行的集群理论源自西方工业化国家,作为发展中的中国能否和如何吸收运用这些西方理论和研究经验成为讨论的焦点之一。本文的目的是通过探讨西方集群研究和集群政策的理论基础,以期能带给中国的相关研究一些有益的启示。本文首先对波特和经合组织两学派的集群概念的起源、发展和着重点进行了回顾。然后分析了集群起源和发展的条件、生命周期、发展机制、空间维度、类型等西方集群研究的要素,阐述了西方工业国家的集群政策概念及相关评判。相对于发达国家丰富的关于技术创新区域的研究而言,针对发展中国家创新系统和集群的理论性及经验性研究则要少得多。所以发展中国家的集群研究及集群政策需要更合适自身实际情况的理论。最后笔者以集群理论和中国实际情况为例,通过问题的分析、理论的分析和理论的调整三步骤说明新理论发展的可能途径。

Endoscopic biliary stent insertion is a well-established procedure. It is especially successful in treating postoperative biliary leaks, and may prevent surgical intervention. A routine change of endoprostheses after 3 mo is a common practice but this can be prolonged to 6 too. We reported a colonic perforation due to biliary stent dislocation and migration to the rectosigmoid colon, and reviewed the literature.

Chimeric protein probes for C5a receptors through fusion of the anaphylatoxin C5a core region with a small-molecule antagonist

Blockade of the interaction of anaphylatoxin C5a with its receptor C5aR1 has been actively studied as a potential treatment for many inflammatory diseases;but current C5a antagonists exhibit inadequate potency and poor species cross-reactivity, and novel biochemical tools are needed to investigate whether the core region of C5a contains important interaction epitopes that can explain these limitations. Herein, we report the development of chimeric protein C5a probes containing both the complete core region of rat or human C5a, and the small-molecule antagonist PMX53-1. These probes were chemically synthesized through hydrazide-based native chemical ligation of a linear peptide hydrazide with the requisite cyclopeptidic antagonist, both of which were made by solid-phase synthesis. Quasi-racemic X-ray crystallography established that attachment of PMX53-1 did not affect the structure of the core region of C5a. Subsequent C5aR1 activity assays demonstrated the probes can provide valuable insights into the development of C5a antagonists;for example, they exhibited significantly better binding affinity and much improved species cross-reactivity than PMX53-1, supporting the notion that the effect of some epitopes outside the C-terminus of C5a should be taken into consideration when designing better C5a antagonists. Surprisingly, the core region of C5a was found to partially agonize C5aR1, suggesting the presence of more than one agonistic interaction in the binding of C5a to C5aR1. This study exemplifies the value of chemical protein synthesis in developing novel receptor probes for drug discovery research.

近年来,中资企业的研发国际化倾向日益明显,海外专利申请数量激增。中资跨国公司的海外R&D中心区位与空间组织结构,以及对企业创新能力提升的影响成为国内外经济地理学研究的热点问题之一。以深圳华为技术有限公司为案例,基于世界知识产权组织专利数据与企业访谈资料,分析了华为研发国际化的途径和成效。研究发现:华为通过在全球卓越中心建立海外R&D中心以及与国际一流企业、大学与科研机构的跨境合作获得领先的研发资源,并通过总部协调实现知识由海外卓越中心向中国的流动。这种主动技术获取途径既保障华为获得全球领先的技术资源,又保障了知识商业化的成果归华为所有,是华为成长为全球领先企业的主要途径。
