Introduction: Ureteroscopy is a minimally invasive endoscopic surgery which provides access to the ureter, pyelon and calyceal cavities via the urethra and the bladder. Laser ureteroscopy uses the laser as an energy source to treat the stone and eliminate it naturally. Minimally invasive endoscopic methods are struggling to become popular in sub-Saharan African countries, especially for the upper urinary tract. The obj.ctive of our work was to report the results of our first laser ureteroscopy experience in the department. Materials and Methods: This was a prospective and descriptive study running from December 1, 2023 to February 19, 2024. Included in our study was any case of upper urinary tract stone operated by Laser ureteroscopy. The characteristics of the lithiasis were determined by CT scan. Sterilization of urine was verified by carrying out a cytobacteriological examination of urine. Ureteral lithiasis was approached by semi-rigid ureteroscopy. Renal lithiasis was immediately addressed by flexible ureteroscopy. Ureteroscopy was coupled with a Holmium YAG laser. A double j.ureteral catheter was placed after the operation. A 230 µm laser fiber was used in each case with a generator with a power of 35 watts (Storz Calculase III type). An access sheath was used in all cases of flexible ureteroscopy. The parameters studied were: sociodemographic characteristics, lithiasis (site, size, number, density, topography), type of anesthesia, duration of laser use, duration of intervention, postoperative outcomes. Data entry and analysis were carried out using the software (Word 2016 and SPSS). Result: We collected 30 cases of laser ureteroscopy. The average age was 37 years with extremes of 9 and 79 years. The male gender was more represented. The most common age group was 24-39 years old. Renal colic was the most frequent reason for admission, 12 patients (40%). On physical examination, lumbar tenderness was present in 47% (14 patients). ECBU was positive in 4 patients

Advances in the neurobiology of growth factors, neural development, and prevention of cell death have resulted in a heightened clinical interest for the development of protective and regenerative neuromodulatory strategies for the cavernous nerves （CNs）, as therapies for prostate cancer and other pelvic malignancies often result in neuronal damage and debilitating loss of sexual function. Nitric oxide released from the axonal end plates of these nerves within the corpora cavernosa causes relaxation of smooth muscle, initiating the haemodynamic changes of penile erection as well as contributing to maintained tumescence; the loss of CN function is primarily responsible for the development of erectile dysfunction （ED） after pelvic surgery and serves as the primary target for potential neuroprotective or regenerative strategies. Evidence from pre-clinical studies for select neuromodulatory approaches is reviewed, including neurotrophins, glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factors （GDNF）, bone morphogenic proteins, immunophilin ligands, erythropoetin （EPO）, and stem cells.

Although the plant kingdom provides an enormous diversity of metabolites with potentially beneficial applications for humankind,a large fraction of these metabolites and their biosynthetic pathways remain *** metabolite structures and their biosynthetic pathways is key to gaining biological understanding andto allow metabolic *** orderto retrieve novel biosynthetic genes involved in specialized metabolism,we developed a novel untargeted method designated as qualitative trait GWAs(QT-GWAS)that subj.cts qualitative metabolic traits to a genome-wide association study,while the conventional metabolite GWAS(mGWAS)mainly considers the quantitative variation of *** a proof of the validity of QT-GWAS,23 and 15of the retrieved associations identified in Arabidopsis thaliana by QTGWAS and mGWAS,respectively,were supported by previous ***,seven genemetabolite associations retrieved by QT-GWAS were confirmed in this study through reverse genetics combined with metabolomics and/or in vitro enzyme *** such,we established that CYTOCHROME P450706A5(CYP706A5)is involved in the biosynthesis of chroman derivatives,UDP-GLYCOSYLTRANSFERASE 76C3(UGT76C3)is able tohexosylate guanine in vitro and in planta,and SULFOTRANSFERASE 202B1(SULT202B1)catalyzes the sulfation of neolignans in ***,our study demonstrates that the untargeted QT-GWAS method can retrieve valid gene-metabolite associations at the level of enzyme-encoding genes,even new associations that cannot be found by the conventional mGwAs,providing a new approach for dissecting qualitative metabolic traits.
