The advantage of fuzzy controllers in working with inaccurate and nonlinear inputs is that there is no need for an accurate mathematical model and fast convergence and minimal fluctuations in the maximum power point *** capability of online fuzzy tracking systems is maximum power,resistance to radiation and temperature changes,and no need for external sensors to measure radiation intensity and ***,the most important issue is the constant changes in the amount of sunlight that cause the maximum power point to be constantly *** controller used in the maximum power point tracking(MPPT)circuit must be able to adapt to the new radiation ***,in this paper,to more accurately track the maximumpower point of the solar system and receive more electrical power at its output,an adaptive fuzzy control was proposed,the parameters of which are optimized by the whale *** studies have repeated under different irradiation conditions and the proposed controller performance has been compared with perturb and observe algorithm(P&O)method,which is a practical and high-performance *** evaluate the performance of the proposed algorithm,the particle swarm algorithm optimized the adaptive fuzzy *** simulation results show that the adaptive fuzzy control system performs better than the P&O tracking *** accuracy and consequently more production power at the output of the solar panel is one of the salient features of the proposed control method,which distinguishes it from other *** the other hand,the adaptive fuzzy controller optimized by the whale algorithm has been able to perform relatively better than the controller designed by the particle swarm algorithm,which confirms the higher accuracy of the proposed algorithm.

The present study suggests that series voltage injection is more effective than parallel current injection to improve voltage quality on the load *** line voltage can be accurately symmetrized at the connection point by creating and controlling a series voltage component in each *** is more reliable and effective than parallel current injection.A dynamic voltage restorer(DVR)and a distribution static synchronous compensator(DSTATCOM)were utilized to provide the required *** DVR is an effective andmodern device utilized in parallel within the grid and can protect sensitive loads from voltage problems in the grid by injecting *** DVR and D-STATCOM were used to improve voltage stability in faults.A standard 13-bus system was studied in the presence of a wind *** simulation results demonstrated that single and three-phase overloads dramatically altered the voltage of the system,making it necessary to use compensators to improve voltage *** DVR and D-STATCOM showed similar performance under normal conditions and somewhat improved grid voltage ***,the DVR outperformed D-STATCOM under asymmetric faults conditions and led to lower voltage variations.

High-speed permanent magnet(PM)electric machines are widely ***,their extreme operating conditions,e.g.,high temperature and high mechanical stress,lead to variations of the PM characteristics and affect the machine *** the present study,an experimental device is designed to test the PM characteristics by simulating the stress and temperature conditions of high-speed *** experimental results indicate that the PM remanence not only varies at high temperatures,which is well known,but also changes under high mechanical *** is shown that the PM remanence increases with the mechanical stress but decreases with the temperature ***,a new demagnetization-curve model of the magnets under multiple stresses is refined to better express the PM *** performance of a high-speed PM machine is then analyzed as an example to indicate the necessity of the model *** effects of the temperature and mechanical stress on the conductivity of the PMs are also *** experimental results indicate that the conductivity of the PM increases with the temperature and pressure.

Increasing global energy consumption has become an urgent problem as natural energy sources such as oil,gas,and uranium are rapidly running *** into renewable energy sources such as solar energy is being pursued to counter *** energy is one of the most promising renewable energy sources,as it has the potential to meet the world’s energy needs *** study aims to develop and evaluate artificial intelligence(AI)models for predicting hourly global *** hyperparameters were optimized using the Broyden-FletcherGoldfarb-Shanno(BFGS)quasi-Newton training algorithm and STATISTICA *** from two stations in Algeria with different climatic zones were used to develop the *** error measurements were used to determine the accuracy of the prediction models,including the correlation coefficient,the mean absolute error,and the root mean square error(RMSE).The optimal support vector machine(SVM)model showed exceptional efficiency during the training phase,with a high correlation coefficient(R=0.99)and a low mean absolute error(MAE=26.5741 Wh/m^(2)),as well as an RMSE of 38.7045 Wh/m^(2) across all ***,this study highlights the importance of accurate prediction models in the renewable energy,which can contribute to better energy management and planning.

The widespread penetration of distributed energy sources and the use of load response programs,especially in a microgrid,have caused many power system issues,such as control and operation of these networks,to be *** control and operation of many small-distributed generation units with different performance characteristics create another challenge for the safe and efficient operation of the *** this paper,the optimum operation of distributed generation resources and heat and power storage in a microgrid,was performed based on real-time pricing through the proposed gray wolf optimization(GWO)algorithm to reduce the energy supply cost with the *** generation resources such as solar panels,diesel generators with battery storage,and boiler thermal resources with thermal storage were used in the studied ***,a combined heat and power(CHP)unit was used to produce thermal and electrical energy *** the simulations,in addition to the gray wolf algorithm,some optimization algorithms have also been *** the results of 20 runs for each algorithm confirmed the high accuracy of the proposed GWO *** results of the simulations indicated that the CHP energy resources must be managed to have a minimum cost of energy supply in the microgrid,considering the demand response program.

Assessment of clinical and pathological features of patients who underwent thyroid surgery: A retrospective clinical study

AIM To evaluate whether there was any correlation between the clinical parameters and final pathological results among patients who underwent thyroid surgery. METHODS We retrospectively analyzed parameters, including age, sex, complete blood cell count parameters, nodule diameter, nodule localization, thyroid function testing, and pathology reports, in patients who underwent thyroid surgery. The patients were divided into malignant (n = 92) and benign (n = 413) groups depending on the final pathological results. Both groups were compared for demographic and clinicalparameters. The Kolmogorov-Smirnov normality test was used to determine if the quantitative variables had a normal distribution. The nonparametric MannWhitney U test was used to compare quantitative data that were not normally distributed, and Pearson's chisquared test was used to compare the qualitative data. The correlation between the final pathological results and fine-needle aspiration biopsy findings was calculated using the cross-tabulation *** This study included 406 women and 99 men aged between 15 and 85 years. No significant differences were found between the groups with respect to age, sex, white blood cell count, neutrophil count, lymphocyte count, thrombocyte count, red cell distribution width, platelet distribution width, mean platelet volume, platecrit, nodule localization, and thyroid function testing. On the other hand, there were significant differences between the groups with respect to nodule size (P = 0.001), cervical lymphadenopathy(P = 0.0001) and nodular calcification (P = 0.0001). Compared with the malignant group, the benign group had a significantly greater nodule size (35.4 mm vs 27.6 mm). The best cut-off point (≤ 28 mm) for nodule size, as determined by the receiver operating characteristic curve, had a sensitivity and specificity of 67.7% and 64.4%, respectively. To investigate the physical properties of HII regions and some PNe about 4＇ in size, a DEFPOS Fabry-Perot spectrometer has been redesigned and set up at the coude exit of the 150cm RTT150 telescope （f/48） at TUBITAK National Observatory （Antalya/Baklrhtepe, Turkey）. The spectrometer has a 4＇ circular field of view and a velocity resolution of 27.27 km s^-1 （a spectral resolving power of 11000） over a 200 km s^-1 spectral window near Hα. This work presents the details of the newly redesigned instrument for coude observations, the data reduction techniques and finally presents some physical results of our new Hα observations selected from the Reynolds et al. （2005） and Fich et al. （1990） papers. The DEFPOS system has been fully tested and the first observations of HII regions and PNe in the Galaxy are used to illustrate the power of the instrument. We feel that our first Fabry-Perot observations can provide a powerful tool for the study of objects with small angular size. In the future, we are planning to prepare a catalog including some physical properties such as radial velocity, line width, and intensity of some PNe and HII regions close to the 4＇ field of view.
