New Robust Energy Management Model for Interconnected Power Networks Using Petri Nets Approach

The problematic of energy management, particularly in terms of resources control and efficiency, has become in the space of a few years an eminently strategic subject. Its implementation is both complex and exciting as the prospects are promising, especially in relation with smart grids technologies. The deregulation of the electricity market, the high cost of storage, and the new laws on energy transition incite some significant users (collectivities, cities, regions, etc.) to form themselves into local producers in order to gain autonomy and reduce their energy bills. Thus, they may have their own sources (classic and/or renewable energy sources) to satisfy their needs and sell their excess production instead of storing it. In this idea, the territorial interconnection principle offers several advantages (energy efficiency, environmental protection, better economic balance). The main challenge of such systems is to ensure good energy management. Therefore, power distribution strategy must be implemented by matching the supply and the demand. Such systems have to be financially viable and environmentally sustainable. This allows among others to reduce the electricity bill and limit the systematic use of the national power network, typically using non-renewable sources, and thereby support sustainable development. This paper presents an original model for aid-decision in terms of grid configurations and control powers exchanged between interconnected territories. The model is based on Petri nets. Therefore, an iterative algorithm for power flow management is based on instantaneous gap between the production capability (photovoltaic, wind) and the demand of each user. So, in order to validate our model, we selected three French regions: the PACA region, the Champagne-Ardenne region and the Lorraine region. The Wheat Pathogenesis Related Protein (TdPR1.2) Ensures Contrasting Behaviors to <i>E. coli</i>Transformant Cells under Stress Conditions

The pathogenesis-related proteins 1 (PR-1) gene family play important roles in the plant metabolism in response to biotic and abiotic stresses. The wheat TdPR1.2 has been previously isolated and characterized. Here we showed by bio-informatic analysis that TdPR1.2 contains six cysteine residues that are conserved between all PR-1 proteins tested. Using ScanProsite tool, we found that TdPR1.2 structure has a CRISP family signature 1 and 2 located at the C-terminal part of the protein. Those two domains are conserved in many identified PR1.2 proteins in plants. Moreover, SignalIP-5.0 analysis revealed that TdPR1.2 contains a putative signal peptide formed by 25 amino acids at the N-terminal extremity. The presence of this signal peptide suggested that the mature proteins will be secreted after the cleavage of the signal sequence. Further, we investigate the role of the TdPR1.2 proteins in the growth of Escherichia coli transformants cells under different abiotic stresses. Our results showed that the full-length form of TdPR1.2 enhanced tolerance of E. coli against salt and osmotic stress but not to KCl. Moreover, TdPR1.2 protein confers bacterial tolerance to heavy metals in solid and liquid mediums. Based on these results, we suggest that the TdPR1.2 protein could play an important role in response to abiotic stress conditions.

Residual electrical resistivity due to short-range order has been calculated for Cu100-xAlx (x=9.13,13.56, 14.5 and 14.76 in at pct) alloys using pseudopotential approach, and the results have been discussed in the light of experimental studies of the local-order structure of these alloys. In case of Cu85.5Al14.5, change in the total residual electrical resistivity due to neutron-irradiation effects has been estimated by including contributions from the short-range order and static atomic displacement correction. Our results show a decrease in the residual resistivity in the irradiated Cu-Al solid solution as compared to the unirradiated sample. This is in accordance with the experimental results

Liponeurocytoma of the Cerebellum with Myoid Features

We report an extremely rare tumor presenting with myoid features in the left cerebellum lobe in a 62-year-old man. This tumor consisted of medium to large round cells with focal lipomatous and myoid differentiation. Immunohistochemically, the tumor cells expressed synaptophysin, GFAP (glial fibrillary acidic protein) and focally desmin. From these findings, we concluded that this tumor was a liponeurocytoma with myoid features. To our knowledge, this is the second report of liponeurocytoma with myoid differentiation in the cerebellum.

Predictive Factors of No Reflow during Primary Angioplasty

Introduction: No reflow during primary angioplasty is associated with a poor prognosis despite the reopening of the culprit coronary. The aim of our work was to determine the predictive factors of no reflow. Methodology: Single-center retrospective analytical study from June 2000 to December 2016 that included patients presenting with STEMI took care of by primary angioplasty. No reflow was defined according to angiographic criteria: a TIMI flow Results: The prevalence of no reflow was 24%. In univariate analysis mean age, diabetes,hypertension, tachycardia, hypotension, killip stage 4 left ventricular failure, hyperglycemia > 11, renal failure, left ventricular dysfunction, tritruncal status, common trunk involvement, initial TIMI flow at 0, significant thrombotic load, delay to angioplasty > 6 hours, and predilation were all correlated with no reflow with a p 75 years [OR = 6.02, 95% CI 1.4 - 27, p = 0.014], tachycardia [OR = 4.3, 95% CI 1.6 - 7.4, p = 0.037], delay to angioplasty > 6 hours [OR = 1.3, 95% CI 1.1 - 2.1, p = 0.003] and high thrombotic load [OR = 1.5, 95% CI 1.3 - 3.2, p = 0.02] were independent predictors of no reflow. Conclusion: No reflow is associated with a poor short-term prognosis. Its care requires knowledge of predictive factors, prevention and treatment.

Insights into Late Embryogenesis Abundant (LEA) Proteins in Plants: From Structure to the Functions

Late Embryogenesis Abundant (LEA) proteins, a group of hydrophilic proteins, have been linked to survival in plants and animals in periods of stress, putatively through safeguarding enzymatic function and prevention of aggregation in times of dehydration/heat. Yet despite decades of effort, the molecular-level mechanisms defining this protective function remain unknown. In this paper, we summarize and review research discoveries of the classification of the LEA protein groups based on their amino acid sequence similarity and on the presence of distinctive conserved motifs. Moreover, we focus on high correlation between their accumulation and water deficit, reinforcing their functional relevance under abiotic stresses. We also discuss the biochemical properties of LEA proteins arising from their hydrophilic nature and by amino acid composition. Although significant similarities have not been found between the members of the different groups, a unifying and outstanding feature of most of them is their high hydrophilicity and high content of glycine. Therefore, we have highlighted the biotechnological applications of LEA genes, and the effects of over-expressing LEA genes from all LEA groups from different species of origin into different plant hosts. Apart from agronomical purposes, LEA proteins could be useful for other biotechnological applications in relation to their capacity to prevent aggregation of proteins.

Intermittent energy restriction(IER) defined as periods of energy restriction interspersed with normal energy intake. As a common alternative form of intermittent energy restriction, Ramadan fasting is a religious practice where practitioners of the Muslim faith undergo a yearly ritual in which no food or beverages are consumed between sunrise to sunset for 29-30 days. Our previous finding has demonstrated that Ramadan fasting could leads to shifts in human gut microbiota structured by changing dietary composition. Together with gut microbiota, metabolites also jointly participate the gut function in nutritive, immunologic, and protective in host metabolism. However, limited human studies have been conducted to characterize whether diet-related behaviors, such as fasting(intermittent energy restriction) can influence fecal metabolites, given consideration of ethnic difference. In this study, we aim to study the changes of metabolites in fecal of two ethnic groups before and after fasting by metabolomics, search for potential biomarkers and related metabolic pathways, and thus figure out whether Ramadan fasting altered the metabolites in Chinese and Pakistani individuals with consideration of diet changes. The study will provide new ideas for potential influence of intermittent energy restriction on human health. Methods 34 healthy adult participants, living in the city of Lanzhou and distributed across two ethnic groups(16 Chinese and 18 Pakistani) were recruited in this study. B survey and fecal samples were collected from the two groups before and after Ramadan fasting. LC-MS metabolomics data analysis was used to detect the metabolites from fecal samples. Unsupervised principle component analysis and(orthogonal) partial least-squares-discriminant analysis were employed to identify differential metabolites between different groups. Accumulation of Copper, Lead, Chrome, Cadmium in Some Tissues of <i>Procambarus clarkii</i>in Rharb Region in Morocco

Different concentrations of four metals namely copper, lead, chrome and cadmium were evaluated in crayfish Procambarus clarkii tissues (carapace, flesh) for a six-month period, from March to August 2013 in the Rharb of Morocco (Lagoon Merja Zerga and Nador canal). The determination of heavy metals was carried using atomic absorption spectroscopy Varian VV20. The results obtained revealed a metal’s contamination of Procambarus clarkii in both sites. Concentrations of heavy metals examined Procambarus clarkii carapace ranged as follows: Merja Zerga (Pb 2.07 - 6.7 μg/g;Cu 2.9 - 9.97 μg/g;Cr 0.89 - 14.22 μg/g dry weight) and Nador canal: (Pb 0.08 - 7.8 μg/g;Cu 3.40 - 9.3 μg/g;Cr 0.87 - 3.5 μg/g dry weight). Concentrations of heavy metals found in flesh were as follows: Merja Zerga (Pb 0.02 - 5.25 μg/g;Cu 9.58 - 23.59 μg/g;Cr 0 - 2.71 μg/g dry weight) and Nador canal (Pb 0.06 - 6.81 μg/g;Cu 9.5 - 37.20 μg/g;Cr 0 - 3.23 μg/g dry weight). The distribution of those metals in Procambarus clarkii shows high levels of contamination for lead, copper and chrome with an absence of cadmium in both sites (Merja Zerga and Nador canal). The concentrations differed in carapace and flesh.

Plant invasions can affect soil properties in the invaded habitat by altering the biotic and abiotic nature of soils through positive or negative plant–soil *** decomposition from many invasive species enhanced soil nutrients,thereby decreasing native plant diversity and leading to further plant ***,we examined the impact of litter decomposition from an invasive plant(Sphagneticola trilobata)in a range of soils at varying depths on growth and physiology of its native congener(Sphagneticola calendulacea).We added litter from *** to each soil type at different depths(0,2,4 and 6 cm).Plants of *** were grown in each treatment,and morphological and physiological parameters were measured at the end of the growing *** soils treated with litter displayed increases in soil nutrients at depths of 2 and 4 cm;while most growth traits,leaf chlorophyll and leaf nitrogen of *** decreased at the same soil ***,litter decomposition from invasive *** resulted in a positive plant–soil feedback for soil nutrients,and a negative plant–soil feedback for growth in native *** findings also suggest that the effects of litter decomposition from an invasive plant on soils and native species can vary significantly depending on the soil depth at which the litter is *** studies should focus on plant–soil feedback for more native and invasive species in invaded habitats,and the effects of invasive litter in more soil types and at greater soil depths.

Aloe vera Coating Efficiency on Shelf Life of Eggplants at Differential Storage Temperatures

The core objective of instant study was to check the effectiveness of Aloe vera edible coating on postharvest life and physicochemical characteristics of eggplants under different storage temperatures. For this purpose, different formulations of Aloe vera based coating （non-poisonous） was applied at concentration of 0, 0.1%, 0.5%, and 1.0%, respectively on eggplants. The coated eggplants were stored at two different temperatures [10℃ and （30±2）℃] and examined for weight loss, firmness, stem color, shriveling, total soluble solids, pH, acidity, vitamin C, sugar （total sugar, reducing sugar and non-reducing sugar） and N, P, K, Ca and Na for two weeks. The obtained results showed that weight loss, shriveling, total soluble solids, pH, sugar （total sugar and non-reducing sugar） increased and firmness, stem color, acidity, reducing sugar, vitamin C minimized during the storage period. The 0.5% Aloe coating at 10℃ showed significant effect and delayed the changes in above parameters. Aloe vera coating remained almost ineffective in altering nutrient homeostasis （N, P, K, Ca and Na） of eggplants. The optimistic results gained in the current study could additionally investigate in larger market experiments and also could extensive to other tropical/subtropical fruits and vegetables.
