The dramatic rise in the number of people living in cities has made many environmental and social problems *** search for a productive method for disposing of solid waste is the most notable of these *** scholars have referred to it as a fuzzy multi-attribute or multi-criteria decision-making problem using various fuzzy set-like approaches because of the inclusion of criteria and anticipated *** goal of the current study is to use an innovative methodology to address the expected uncertainties in the problem of solid waste site *** characteristics(or sub-attributes)that decision-makers select and the degree of approximation they accept for various options can both be indicators of these *** tackle these problems,a novel mathematical structure known as the fuzzy parameterized possibility single valued neutrosophic hypersoft expert set(ρˆ-set),which is initially described,is integrated with a modified version of Sanchez’s *** this,an intelligent algorithm is *** steps of the suggested algorithm are explained with an example that explains *** compatibility of solid waste management sites and systems is discussed,and rankings are established along with detailed justifications for their *** study’s strengths lie in its application of fuzzy parameterization and possibility grading to effectively handle the uncertainties embodied in the parameters’nature and alternative approximations,*** uses specific mathematical formulations to compute the fuzzy parameterized degrees and possibility grades that are missing from the prior *** is simpler for the decisionmakers to look at each option separately because the decision is *** the computed results,it is discovered that they are consistent and dependable because of their preferred properties.

Using LaModel to analyze coal bumps

Coal bumps have long been a safety hazard in coal mines, and even after decades of research, the exact mechanics that cause coal bumps are still not well understood. Therefore, coal bumps are still difficult to predict and control. The LaModel program has a long history of being used to effectively analyze displacements and stresses in coal mines, and with the recent addition of energy release and local mine stiffness calculations, the LaModel program now has greatly increased capabilities for evaluating coal bump potential. This paper presents three recent case histories where coal stress, pillar safety factor, energy release rate and local mine stiffness calculations in LaModel were used to evaluate the pillar plan and cut sequencing that were associated with a number of bumps. The first case history is a longwall mine where a simple stress analysis was used to help determine the limiting depth for safely mining in bump-prone ground. The second case history is a room-and-pillar retreat mine where the LaModel analysis is used to help optimize the pillar extraction sequencing in order to minimize the frequent pillar line bumps. The third case history is the Crandall Canyon mine where an initial bump and then a massive pillar collapse/bump which killed 6 miners is extensively back-analyzed. In these case histories, the calculation tools in LaModel are ultimately shown to be very effective for analyzing various aspects of the bump problem, and in the conclusions, a number of critical insights into the practical calculation of mine failure and stability developed as a result of this research are presented.

Analysis of ARMPS2010 database with LaModel and an updated abutment angle equation

The Analysis of Retreat Mining Pillar Stability(ARMPS) program was developed by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health(NIOSH) to help the United States coal mining industry to design safe retreat room-and-pillar panels. ARMPS calculates the magnitude of the in-situ and mining-induced loads by using geometrical computations and empirical rules. In particular, the program uses the "abutment angle" concept in calculating the magnitude of the abutment load on pillars adjacent to a gob. In this paper, stress measurements from United States and Australian mines with different overburden geologies with varying hard rock percentages were back analyzed. The results of the analyses indicated that for depths less than 200 m, the ARMPS empirical derivation of a 21° abutment angle was supported by the case histories;however, at depths greater than 200 m, the abutment angle was found to be significantly less than 21°. In this paper, a new equation employing the panel width to overburden depth ratio is constructed for the calculation of accurate abutment angles for deeper mining cases. The new abutment angle equation was tested using both ARMPS2010 and La Model for the entire case history database of ARMPS2010. The new abutment angle equation to estimate the magnitude of the mining-induced loads used together with the La Model program was found to give good classification accuracies compared to ARMPS2010 for deep cover cases.

Tests for malingering in ophthalmology

· Simulation can be defined as malingering, or sometimes functional visual loss (FVL). It manifests as either simulating an ophthalmic disease (positive simulation), or denial of ophthalmic disease (negative simulation). Conscious behavior and compensation or indemnity claims are prominent features of simulation. Since some authors suggest that this is a manifestation of underlying psychopathology, even conversion is included in this context. In today’s world, every ophthalmologist can face with simulation of ophthalmic disease or disorder. In case of simulation suspect, the physician’s responsibility is to prove the simulation considering the disease/disorder first, and simulation as an exclusion. In simulation examinations, the physician should be firm and smart to select appropriate test (s) to convince not only the subject, but also the judge in case of indemnity or compensation trials. Almost all ophthalmic sensory and motor functions including visual acuity, visual field, color vision and night vision can be the subject of simulation. Examiner must be skillful in selecting the most appropriate test. Apart from those in the literature, we included all kinds of simulation in ophthalmology. In addition, simulation examination techniques, such as, use of optical coherence tomography, frequency doubling perimetry (FDP), and modified polarization tests were also included. In this review, we made a thorough literature search, and added our experiences to give the readers up -to -date information on malingering or simulation in ophthalmology. ·

he energy problem of monopole and texture spacetimes is investigated in the context of two different approaches of gravity such as general relativity and teleparallel gravity. In this connection, firstly the energies for monopoles and textures are evaluated by using the Moiler energy momentum prescription in different approximations. It is obtained that energy distributions of Moiler definition give the same results for these topological defects （monopole and texture） in general relativity （GR） and teleparallel gravity （TG）. The results strengthen the importance of the Moller energy-momentum definitions in given spacetimes and the viewpoint of Lessner that Moller energy-momentum complex is a powerful concept for energy and momentum.

Investigating different methods used for approximating pillar loads in longwall coal mines

Five methods for detection of Helicobacter pylori in the Turkish population

AIM: To compare culture analysis, Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) stool antigen (HpSA) test, polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) for H. pylori detection. METHODS: One hundred and thirty-two consecutive adult dyspeptic patients receiving diagnostic endoscopy at the department of gastroenterology were enrolled in this study. Culture and histological examination were performed on biopsy specimens. PCR and FISH tests were applied to histopathological samples. Stool samples that were simultaneously collected were tested for the H. pylori antigen using the HpSA test and bacterial DNA using stool PCR. RESULTS: H. pylori was positively identified by histo-logical examination in 85/132 (64.4%) of the patients, while positive samples were found in 56 (42.4%), 64 (48.5%), 98 (74.2%), 28 (21.2%) and 81 (61.4%) of the patients by culture, HpSA, PCR, stool PCR and FISH methods, respectively. The results of the culture, biopsy PCR, HpSA and FISH tests, with the exception of the stool PCR, were found to correlate with the histological examination as a gold standard. CONCLUSION: The HpSA test is a rapid, simple, and noninvasive test for monitoring therapy. FISH is an accurate, rapid, cost-effective, and easy-to-use test for H. pylori detection.

Molecular phylogeny of Solms-laubachia(Brassicaceae) s.l.,based on multiple nuclear and plastid DNA sequences,and its biogeographic implications

The Hengduan Mountains region of south-west China is a noted biodiversity hotspot,but the geographic origins and historical assembly of its rich endemic flora,including the sky-island species of Solms-laubachia Muschl.(Brassicaceae),have been little *** molecular studies on the phylogeny of Solms-laubachia showed it to be paraphyletic,leading to considerable expansion not only of its taxonomic limits,but also its geographic range,with the inclusion of taxa from outside the Hengduan ***,these studies provided little resolution of interspecific relationships,preventing inferences about historical biogeography within the *** the present study,new sequence data from two nuclear genes(LEAFY and G3pdh) and two chloroplast intergenic spacers(petN-psbM and psbM-trnD) were combined with existing markers to increase phylogenetic *** villosum(Maxim.) New Insights into Petroleum Migration-Accumulation Dynamic Systems and Their Division within Petroleum Systems

Since the concept of petroleum migration-accumulation dynamic system （PMADS） was introduced in the 1990s, its definition, division and even denomination have long been in disagreement. This article aims to further discuss and try to clarify this concept and to explore more reasonable approaches to the division of PMADSs on the basis of our studies on petroleum migration and accumulation in some pe- troliferous basins of China, especially those from western China. According to the studies, we define PMADS as a relatively independent natural hydrocarbon migrating and accumulating system within a petroleum system. Its extent is supposed to cover the whole migration pathway starting from a hydrocarbon provenance throughout to an accumulation or a group of accumulations of same source. Just like petroleum systems, a petroleum migration-accumulation system is also an important natural unit for petroleum exploration and assessment in petroleum basins. Its position in a basin is right between a petroleum system and a play. A pe- troleum system has either a number of migration-accumulation systems or one system only. However, the key element of a petroleum system is the source of hydrocarbon; a petroleum system has a distinct hydrocarbon kitchen and is different from its neighboring ones in terms of hydrocarbon kitchens. In contrast, different migration-accumulation systems within the same petroleum system have a shared source kitchen but differ-ent characteristics of migration and accumulation to form hydrocarbon accumulations. As far as the division of petroleum migration-accumulation systems （PMASs） is concerned, 8 major approaches are proposed, including those based on pool-forming dynamic mechanisms, location of hydrocarbon accumulation rela- tive to the source kitchen, phase states of migration and accumulation, migration patterns and directions, geneses of accumulations, reservoir pressure systems, depositional systems and facies, and integrated method, of which the

Small and Medium Enterprises and Global Risks: Evidence from Manufacturing SMEs in Turkey

This study investigated how small and medium enterprises(SMEs) in a country perceive major global risks. The aim was to explore how country attributes and circumstances affect SME assessments of the likelihood,impacts, and rankings of global risks, and to find out if SME risk assessment and rankings differ from the global rankings. Data were gathered using an online survey of manufacturing SMEs in Turkey. The results show that global economic risks and geopolitical risks are of major concern for SMEs, and environmental risks are at the bottom of their ranking. Among the economic risks, fiscal crises in key economies and high structural unemployment or underemployment were found to be the highest risks for the SMEs. Failure of regional or global governance, failure of national governance, and interstate conflict with regional consequences were found to be among the top geopolitical risks for the SMEs. The SMEs considered the risk of largescale cyber-attacks and massive incident of data fraud/theft to be relatively higher than other global technological *** social instability and failure of urban planning were among the top societal risks for the SMEs. Although the global environmental and disaster risks were ranked lowest on the list, man-made environmental damage and disasters and major natural hazard-induced disasters were ranked the highest among this group of risks. Overall, the results show that SMEs at a country level, for example Turkey, perceive global risks differently than the major global players.
