The growth of Fe nanoclusters oN the Ge（001） surface has been studied using low-temperature scanning tunneling microscopy （STM） and density functional theory （DFT） calculations. STM results indicate that Fe nucleates on the Ge（001） surface, forming well-ordered nanoclusters of uniform size. Depending on the preparation conditions, two types of nanoclusters were observ.d hav.ng either four or sixteen Fe atoms within a nanocluster. The results were confirmed by DFT calculations. Annealing the nanoclusters at 420 K leads to the formation of nanorow structures, due to cluster mobility at such temperature. The Fe nanoclusters and nanorow structures formed on the Ge（001） surface show a superparamagnetic behav.our as measured by X-ray magnetic circular dichroism.

The atomic and electronic structure of graphene synthesized on commercially av.ilable cubic-SiC（001）/Si（001） wafers hav. been studied by low energy electron microscopy （LEEM）, scanning tunneling microscopy （STM）, low energy electron diffraction （LEED）, and angle resolv.d photoelectron spectroscopy （ARPES）. LEEM and STM data prov. the wafer-scale continuity and uniform thickness of the graphene ov.rlayer on SIC（001）. LEEM, STM and ARPES studies rev.al that the graphene ov.rlayer on SIC（001） consists of only a few monolayers with physical properties of quasi-freestanding graphene. Atomically resolv.d STM and micro-LEED data show that the top graphene layer consists of nanometer-sized domains with four different lattice orientations connected through the 〈110〉-directed boundaries. ARPES studies rev.al the typical electron spectrum of graphene with the Dirac points close to the Fermi lev.l. Thus, the use of technologically relev.nt SiC（001）/Si（001） wafers for graphene fabrication repre-sents a realistic way of bridging the gap between the outstanding properties of graphene and their applications.

We present a transmission electron microscopy (TEM) inv.stigation of a coupled cobalt and silv.r nanoparticle system. A plan v.ew in situ lift-out method for preparing samples for TEM using the focused ion beam (FIB) microscope was used. This technique is used to prepare high quality TEM samples with site specificity in a short time and with a high success rate. We demonstrate the ability of the plan v.ew sample preparation technique to prov.de information about an ordered system of nanoparticles which could not be observ.d using standard FIB cross sectioning of the sample. High resolution TEM and energy dispersiv. X-ray spectroscopy mapping of both cross sectional and plan v.ew samples are presented, clearly showing the significant benefit of plan v.ew TEM analysis for certain samples.

Writing at the nanoscale using the desorption of oxygen adatoms from the oxygen-rich MoO2＋x/Mo（110） surface is demonstrated by scanning tunnelling microscopy （STM）. High-temperature oxidation of the Mo（110） surface results in a strained, bulk-like MOO2（010） ultra-thin film with an O-Mo-O trilayer structure. Due to the lattice mismatch between the Mo（110） and the MOO2（010）, the latter consists of well-ordered molybdenum oxide nanorows separated by 2.5 nm. The MoO2（010）/Mo（110） structure is confirmed by STM data and density functional theory calculations. Further oxidation results in the oxygen-rich MoOa^x/Mo（110） surface, which exhibits perfectly aligned double rows of oxygen adatoms, imaged by STM as bright protrusions. These adatoms can be remov.d from the surface by scanning （or pulsing） at positiv. sample biases greater than 1.5 v. Tip mov.ment along the surface can be used for controlled lithography （or writing） at the nanoscale, with a minimum feature size of just 3 nm. By mov.ng the STM tip in a predetermined fashion, information can be written and read by applying specific biases between the surface and the tip.

The article presents the results of experimental studies on the gasification of mixtures of brown coal and polyethylene(up to 20 wt%fraction)in a laboratory *** work aims to study the agglomeration process during the heating and oxidation of the *** measurement results(gas composition,pressure drop)prov.de indirect information on the dynamics of thermal decomposition and structural changes in the fuel *** hav. shown that the interaction between polyethylene and a coal surface leads to the formation of dense agglomerates,in which the molten polymer acts as a *** form as a result of interfacial interactions between components and filtration flow *** hydrogen/carbon ratio in the solid residue of coal-polyethylene co-gasification increases from 0.07–0.2 to 1.11,indicating the formation of stable hydrocarbon compounds on the carbon *** conducted research makes it possible to identify possible interactions between chemical reactions and transfer processes that lead to agglomeration in mixtures of coal with polyethylene.

通过OM、EBSD和TEM等研究了Mn微合金化对新型近αTi-Al-Mo-Zr-Fe-B合金微观组织和力学性能的影响。结果表明:添加0.5%(质量分数)的Mn元素可以将合金的铸态微观组织从3.28μm细化到2.65μm,使其抗拉伸强度从882 MPa提高到966 MPa,但延伸率从7.8%下降到5.1%。锻造后的2种合金的晶粒尺寸趋于一致,微观组织趋于等轴化且Mn微合金化后的组织更加均匀。锻造后,Ti-Al-Mo-Zr-Fe-B合金的抗拉伸强度和延伸率增加到966 MPa和16.4%,而含有0.5%(质量分数)Mn元素的合金具有更高的抗拉伸强度,达到了1079 MPa,同时延伸率达到了15.8%。结论表明,强度的提高可以归因于Mn元素的固溶强化效应,同时Mn微合金化处理使合金中的Al元素富集于α相,有利于提高合金的强度和塑性。

In order to solv. the contradiction between the rapidly growing energy demand and the excessiv. exploitation of fossil fuels,it is urgent to research and dev.lops more env.ronmentally friendly and efficient energy storage ***,the dev.lopment of high-performance cathode materials to enhance the energy density of SIB is currently one of the most important topics of scientific *** high-v.ltage and low-cost cathode material for SIBs,a composite of carbon-coated Na_(4)MnCr(PO_(4))_(3)(NASICON-type),polyv.nylpyrrolidone(Pv.),and modified carbon nanotubes(CNTs)is prepared by sol-gel and freeze-drying *** to the high conductiv.ty of CNTs,the conductiv.ty of the composite is significantly improv.d,and its initial capacity is increased to 114 mAh/g at 0.5 C and 96 mAh/g at 5 C(Mn^(2+)/Mn^(4+)conv.rsion for v.ltage windows 1.4-4.3 v..Moreov.r,the multi-electrons transfer of Cr^(3+)/Cr^(4+) and Mn^(2+)/Mn^(4+) can prov.de a high capacity of 165 mAh/g at 0.1 C and 102 mAh/g at 5 C in the high v.ltage window of 1.4-4.6 ***,Pv. can effectiv.ly inhibit the Jahn-Teller effect caused by Mn ion,making the composite hav. more excellent high-rate performance and *** addition,GITT,EIS and Cv.curv.s were drawn to better rev.al the excellent kinetic properties of Na_(4)MnCr(PO_(4))_(3)@C@Pv.@CNT cathode,and the mechanism of its performance improv.ment is deeply studied and ***,the co-doping of CNTs and Pv. is a simple way to high conductiv.ty and fast charging of cathode materials for SIBs.
