An Experimental Simulation of Addressing Auto-Configuration Issues for Wireless Sensor Networks

Applications of Wireless Sensor devices are widely used byvarious monitoring sections such as environmental monitoring, industrialsensing, habitat modeling, healthcare and enemy movement detection *** were found that 16 bytes packet size (payload) requires MediaAccess Control (MAC) and globally unique network addresses overheads asmore as the payload itself which is not reasonable in most situations. Theapproach of using a unique address isn’t preferable for most Wireless SensorNetworks (WSNs) applications as well. Based on the mentioned drawbacks,the current work aims to fill the existing gap in the field area by providingtwo strategies. First, name/address solutions that assign unique addresseslocally to clustered topology-based sensor devices, reutilized in a spatialmanner, and reduce name/address size by a noticeable amount of 2.9 basedon conducted simulation test. Second, name/address solutions that assignreutilizing of names/addresses to location-unaware spanning-tree topologyin an event-driven WSNs case (that is providing minimal low latenciesand delivering addressing packet in an efficient manner). Also, to declinethe approach of needing both addresses (MAC and network) separately, itdiscloses how in a spatial manner to reutilize locally unique sensor devicename approach and could be utilized in both contexts and providing anenergy-efficient protocol for location unawareness clustered based *** comparison, an experimental simulation test performed and given theaddresses solution with less overhead in the header and 62 percent fairpayload efficiency that outperforms 34 percent less effective globally uniqueaddresses. Furthermore, the proposed work provides addresses uniquenessfor network-level without using network-wide Duplicate Address Detection(DAD) algorithm. Geophysical appraisal of the Abu Madi gas reservoir,Nile Delta Basin,Egypt:Implications for the tectonic effect on the lateral distribution of petrophysical parameters

The tectonic deformation has a significant influence on the hydrocarbon reservoirs *** effect of this process focuses on the lateral distribution of the petrophysical parameters characterizing the hydrocarbon *** main objective of the current study is to perform a petrophysical examination of the Abu Madi gas reservoir which is the greatest gas-bearing reservoir at Nile Delta Basin in order to examine how far the Messinian tectonics affected the lateral variations of these petrophysical *** petrophysical evaluation was performed based on the wireline log data acquired for five wells,namely,Abu Madi-2,Abu Madi-7,El Qara-3,Nidoco-7,and Nidoco-9 drilled within the Abu Madi *** petrophysical assessment for the most promising zone intervals within the Abu Madi sandstones in the inspected wells show that the total porosity varies between 17%and 22%,the effective porosity ranges from 7%to 19%,the shale volume fluctuates between 16%and 30%,hydrocarbon satu-ration varies from 37%to 76%,and the bulk volume of water varies between 0.02 and *** significant variations in the petrophysical properties of the Abu Madi reservoir are attributed to the tectonic influence during the deposition of the Abu Madi Formation as a part of the Late Miocene synrift megasequence in the Nile Delta *** conclusion confirms that the petrophysical properties of sandstone reservoirs are function of tectonic and structural deformation.

New prospective gas plays in pliocene sands, offshore Nile Delta Basin: A case study from Kamose-1 well at North Sinai Concession, Egypt

The Pliocene sands in the offshore parts of the Nile Delta Basin represent significant gas *** targets have been recently discovered in different places along the offshore Nile Delta *** present work focuses on the possibility of discovering new natural gas resources at North Sinai Concession through an integrated method between seismic and well logs data interpretations.A case study from Kamose-1 Well at Kamose Field,North Sinai Concession has been *** quantitative explanation for the well log data of Kamose-1 Well has revealed two zones expected to be gas-bearing *** intervals are located between depths;1174–1186 m(zone I)and between 1429 and 1503 m(zone II).The calculated petrophysical parameters for these zones exhibit low water saturation(24–43%),high effective porosity(30–31%),low shale volume(21–26%),high total porosity(37–38%)and low bulk volume of water(0.07–0.12).Zone II(74 m thick)shows a clear bright spot on the seismic profiles covering the study area,while,zone I is beyond seismic resolution(12 m thick).Several seismic bright spots have been outlined on the seismic data nearby Kamose-1 *** comparison between the newly outlined seismic bright spots with the drilled one in Kamose-1 Well exhibited a great ***,these prospects are expected to be new targets for gas exploration in the Pliocene succession at North Sinai Concession.

Hybrid density functional theory was used to investigate the structural,electronic,magnetic and elastic properties of the Laves phase binary intermetallics RFe_(2)(R=La,Ce,Pr and Nd) in C_(15) crystal *** calculated lattice constants of these materials are found in good agreement with the *** band structures and density of states distribution confirm the metallic nature of all these *** optimized energies in different magnetic phases and magnetic susceptibilities by postDFT treatments confirm that all the understudy compounds are ferromagnetic in *** parameters were calculated from the cubic elastic coefficients C_(11),C_(12) and C_(44).The elastic properties reveal that these intermetallics are incompressible,ductile,elastically anisotropic and mechanically *** on the metallic nature and ferromagnetic properties,it is expected that these intermetallics are suitable materials for spintronic technology.

Geostructural stability assessment of cave using rock surface discontinuity extracted from terrestrial laser scanning point cloud

The use of terrestrial laser scanning（TLS） in the caves has been growing drastically over the last ***, TLS application to cave stability assessment has not received much attention of *** study attempted to utilize rock surface orientations obtained from TLS point cloud collected along cave passages to（1） investigate the influence of rock geostructure on cave passage development, and（2）assess cave stability by determining areas susceptible to different failure types. The TLS point cloud was divided into six parts（Entry hall, Chamber, Main hall, Shaft 1, Shaft 2 and Shaft 3）, each representing different segments of the cave passages. Furthermore, the surface orientation information was extracted and grouped into surface discontinuity joint sets. The computed global mean and best-fit planes of the entire cave show that the outcrop dips 290° with a major north-south strike. But at individual level, the passages with dip angle between 26° and 80° are featured with dip direction of 75°-322°. Kinematic tests reveal the potential for various failure modes of rock slope. Our findings show that toppling is the dominant failure type accounting for high-risk rockfall in the cave, with probabilities of 75.26%, 43.07%and 24.82% in the Entry hall, Main hall and Shaft 2, respectively. Unlike Shaft 2 characterized by high risk of the three failure types（32.49%, 24.82% and 50%）, the chamber and Shaft 3 passages are not suffering from slope failure. The results also show that the characteristics of rock geostructure considerably influence the development of the cave passages, and four sections of the cave are susceptible to different slope failure types, at varying degrees of risk.

In vitro Selection for Fusarium Wilt Resistance in Gladiolus

Cormels pieces of four Fusarium susceptible Gladiolus cultivars （Friendship, Peter Pears, Victor Borge and Novalux） formed friable calli when cultured in vitro on Murashige and Skoog basal medium containing various concentrations of auxin and cytokinin. The friable calli established cell suspensions. Plantlet regeneration was obtained from the control callus, control cell suspension derived callus and in vitro selected Fusarium oxysporum Schlecht. resistant cell-lines of Friendship. The in vitro cormlets showed 85-95% germination after breaking dormancy of 8 weeks at 4℃. Cell suspensions of all four Gladiolus cultivars were found to be highly sensitive to fusaric acid. Gradual increase in fusaric acid concentrations to the cell-suspension cultures decreased cell growth considerably. One albino plant was found from the second generation of the in vitro selected cell line of Friendship. The albino plant was found to be highly susceptible to F. oxysporum. The cormlets of all in vitro selected cell lines of Friendship were inoculated with a conidial suspension of the F. oxysporum before planting and were also sprayed with the same spore suspension for further characterization when the height of plants was about 6cm. The four selected cell lines showed the same response whether or not they were inoculated with conidia of the F. oxysporum. Plantlets of all of the selected cell lines exhibited significant growth as compared with the control after application of conidia of the F. oxysporum.

Functional properties,antioxidant activity and in-vitro digestibility characteristics of brown and polished rice flours of Indian temperate region

The present investigation was aimed to study functional properties,antioxidant activity and in-vitro digestibility characteristics of brown and polished flours obtained from four rice cultivars(SR-4,K-39,Mushq Budij and Zhag)of *** rice flours had higher total dietary fibre(3.08%-3.68%),oil absorption(116.0%-139.0%),emulsion capacity(4.78%-9.52%),emulsion stability(87.46%-99.93%)and resistant starch content(6.80%-9.00%)than polished ***,polished flours presented greater water absorption(102.0%-122.0%),foaming capacity(8.00%-13.63%),apparent amylose(19.16%-22.62%),peak(2260.0-2408.0 cP),trough(1372.0-1589.0 cP)and breakdown(714.0-978.0 cP)viscosities than their brown *** rice flours depicted highest total phenolic content(4.40-6.40 mg GAE/g)and inhibition of lipid peroxidation(19.50%-33.20%).However,equilibrium starch hydrolysis percentage(C∞)and predicted glycemic index of brown rice flours were lower than their polished *** rice cultivars,brown Zhag flour had the highest total dietary fibre(3.68%),emulsion capacity(9.52%),emulsion stability(99.93%),resistant starch(9.00%),DPPH radical scavenging activity(85.45%)and inhibition of lipid peroxidation(33.20%),*** capacity and emulsion stability were positively correlated with protein content of rice ***,peak,trough,breakdown and setback viscosities were negatively correlated with protein and fat contents of rice *** present investigation will be helpful in identifying nutritive role of rice flours from studied cultivars in human diet.

Medicinal plants against hepatitis C virus

Hepatitis C virus (HCV) is a global health concern which is responsible for most of the liver diseases. Currently, there is no vaccine available for prevention of HCV infection due to the high degree of strain variation. The current standard of care is a combination of pegylated interferon α with ribavirin and boceprevir/telaprevir. This treatment was partially effective and had significant side effects. Hence, there is a need to develop new antiviral agents that interfere with different stages of the HCV life cycle. Recent advances in the understanding of both the cellular and molecular mechanisms of HCV replication have provided the basis for novel therapeutic strategies. Several hundred plant species and their phyto-constituents have been isolated for screening against HCV, and some have been shown to have great medicinal value in preventing and/or ameliorating viral diseases in pre-clinical and clinical trials. This review summarizes medicinal plants and their phytochemicals which inhibit different stages of HCV life cycle and discuss their potential use in HCV therapy.

Effects of particle size and concentration on bubble coalescence and froth formation in a slurry bubble column

A new approach for simulating the formation of a froth layer in a slurry bubble column is proposed. Froth is considered a separate phase, comprised of a mixture of gas, liquid, and solid. The simulation was carried out using commercial flow simulation software （FIRE v2014） for particle sizes of 60-150 μm at solid concentrations of 0-40vol%, and superficial gas velocities of 0.02-0.034m/s in a slurry bubble column with a hydraulic diameter of 0.2 m and height of 1.2 m. Modelling calculations were conducted using a Eulerian-Eulerian multiphase approach with k-ε turbulence. The population balance equations for bubble breakup, bubble coalescence rate, and the interfacial exchange of mass and momentum were included in the computational fluid dynamics code by writing subroutines in Fortran to track the number density of different bubble sizes. Flow structure, radial gas holdup, and Sauter mean bubble diameter distributions at different column heights were predicted in the pulp zone, while froth volume fraction and density were predicted in the froth zone. The model was validated using available experimental data, and the predicted and experimental results showed reasonable agreement. To demonstrate the effect of increasing solid concentration on the coalescence rate, a solid-effect multiplier in the coalescence effi- ciency equation was used. The solid-effect multiplier decreased with increasing slurry concentration, causing an increase in bubble coalescence efficiency. A slight decrease in the coalescence efficiency was also observed owing to increasing particle size, which led to a decrease in Sauter mean bubble diam- eter. The froth volume fraction increased with solid concentration. These results provide an improved understanding of the dynamics of slurry bubble reactors in the presence of hydrophilic particles.
