In this study,a two-dimensional boundary layer flow of steady incompressible nonlinear convective flow of Oldroyd-B fluid over a nonlinearly stretching sheet with Cattaneo-Christov heat flux model and heat generation or absorption is *** governing equations of the boundary layer flow which are highly nonlinear partial differential equations are converted to the ordinary differential equations using similarity transformations and then the Galerkin finite element method(GFEM)is used to solve the proposed *** effect of local Deborah numbers 0,and *** buoyancy parameter z,Prandtl number Pr,Deborah number y,and heat generation/absorption parameter<5 on the temperature and the velocity as well as heat transfer rate and shear stress are discussed both in graphical and tabular *** result shows the enlargement in the local buoyancy parameter A will improve the velocity field and the heat transfer rate of the boundary layer ***,our present work evinced both local skin friction coefficient and heat transfer rate step up if we add the values of non-linear stretching sheet parameter and local heat generation/absorption parameter has quite the opposite *** numerically computed values of local skin friction coefficient and local Nusselt number are validated with available literature and evinced excellent agreement.

Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC),the predominant type of liver cancer,is a major contributor to cancer-related fatalities across the *** has been identified as a significant risk factor for HCC,with recent research indicating that the hormone resistin could be involved in the onset and advancement of HCC in diabetic *** is a hormone that is known to be involved in inflammation and insulin *** with HCC have been observed to exhibit increased resistin levels,which could be correlated with more severe disease stages and unfavourable ***,the exact processes through which resistin influences the development and progression of HCC in diabetic patients remain *** article aims to examine the existing literature on the possible use of resistin levels as a biomarker for HCC development and ***,it reviews the possible pathways of HCC initiation due to elevated resistin and offers new perspectives on comprehending the fundamen-tal mechanisms of HCC in diabetic *** a better understanding of these processes may yield valuable insights into HCC’s development and progression,as well as identify possible avenues for prevention and therapy.

Spices and herbal remedies have been used since ancient times to treat a variety of disorders. It has been experimentally demonstrated that spices, herbs, and their extracts possess antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, antirheumatic, lipid-lowering, hepatoprotective, nephroprotective, antimutagenic and anticancer activities, besides their gastroprotective and anti-ulcer activities. Despite a number of reports on the toxicity of herbs and spices, they are generally accepted as safer alternatives to conventional therapy against gastric ulcers. To this end, it is also believed, that excessive consumption of spices may favor the pathogenesis of gastric and duodenal ulcer and some studies have substantiated this common perception. Based on various in vivo experiments and clinical studies, on the effects of spices and herbs on gastric ulcers, it has indeed been shown that certain spices do possess remarkable anti-ulcer properties mediated by antisecretory, cytoprotective, antioxidant, and anti-Helicobacter pylori effects and mechanisms regulated by nitric oxide, prostaglandins, non-protein sulfhydryl molecules and epidermal growth factor expression. Accordingly, their consumption may attenuate and help prevent peptic ulcer disease. In the present review, the beneficial effects of spices and herbal nutritive components on the gastric mucosa are discussed against the paradigm of their deleterious potential.

Densities and ultrasonic speeds have been measured in binary mixtures of benzene with 1‐pentanol, 1‐heptanol and 1‐octanol, and in the pure components, as a function of composition at 35 °C. The isentropic compressibility, intermolecular free length, relative association, acoustic impedance, isothermal compressibility, thermal expansion coefficient, deviations in isentropic compressibility, excess free length, excess volume, deviations in ultrasonic speed, excess acoustic impedance, apparent molar compressibility, apparent molar volume, partial molar volume of 1‐alkanol in benzene have been calculated from the experimental data of densities and ultrasonic speeds. The variation of these parameters with composition indicates weak interaction between the component molecules and this interaction decreases in the order: 1‐pentanol > l‐heptanol> 1‐octanol. Further, theoretical values of ultrasonic speeds were evaluated using free length theory, collision factor theory, Nomoto's relation and Van Dæl‐Vangeel ideal mixing relation. The relative merits of these theories and relations were discussed for these systems.

Mobile computing has fast emerged as a pervasive technology to replace the old computing paradigms with portable computation and context-aware *** software systems can be migrated(while preserving their data and logic)to mobile computing platforms that support portability,context-sensitivity,and enhanced *** recent years,some research and development efforts have focused on a systematic migration of existing software systems to mobile computing *** investigate the research state-of-the-art on the migration of existing software systems to mobile computing *** aim to analyze the progression and impacts of existing research,highlight challenges and solutions that reflect dimensions of emerging and futuristic *** followed evidence-based software engineering(EBSE)method to conduct a systematic mapping study(SMS)of the existing research that has progressed over more than a decade(25 studies published from 1996–2017).We have derived a taxonomical classification and a holistic mapping of the existing research to investigate its progress,impacts,and potential areas of futuristic research and *** SMS has identified three types of migration namely Static,Dynamic,and State-based Migration of existing software systems to mobile computing *** to mobile computing platforms enables existing software systems to achieve portability,context-sensitivity,and high ***,mobile systems may face some challenges such as resource poverty,data security,and *** emerging and futuristic research aims to support patterns and tool support to automate the migration *** results of this SMS can benefit researchers and practitioners-by highlighting challenges,solutions,and tools,etc.,-to conceptualize the state-of-the-art and futuristic trends that support migration of existing software to mobile computing.

The membrane water content of the proton exchange membrane fuel cell(PEMFC)is the most important feature required for water management of the PEMFC *** improper management of water in the fuel cell may lead to system *** various faults,flooding and drying faults are the most frequent in the PEMFC *** paper presents a new dynamic semi-empirical model which requires only the load current and temperature of the PEMFC system as the input while providing output voltage and membrane water content as its major *** other PEMFC systems,the proposed dynamic model calculates the internal partial pressure of oxygen and hydrogen rather than using special internal ***,the membrane water content and internal resistances of PEMFC are modelled by incorporating the load current condition and temperature of the PEMFC *** model parameters have been extracted by using a quantum lightening search algorithm as an optimization technique,and the performance is validated with experimental data obtained from the NEXA 1.2 k W PEMFC *** further demonstrate the capability of the model in fault detection,the variation in membrane water content has been studied via the *** proposed model could be efficiently used in prognostic and diagnosis systems of PEMFC fault.

The electrochemical behaviour of the heterobimetallic complex [Pt(C≡C tol)2(dppm)2-Ir(CO)2]+PF-6 was studied via cyclic voltammetry,convolutive voltammetry and chronopotentiometry at glassy carbon electrode in dichloromethane *** electrochemical parameters calculated from experimental data were tested and confirmed by matching the experimental cyclic voltammograms with the simulated *** was found that convolutive voltammetry provided higher sensitivity,better resolution and more accurate method for determination of the electrochemical parameters than ordinary cyclic voltammetry.

Topical negative pressure in managing severe peritonitis: A positive contribution?

AIM： To assess the use of topical negative pressure （TNP） in the management of severe peritonitis. METHODS： This is a four-year prospective analysis from January 2005 to December 2008 of 20 patients requiring TNP following laparotomy for severe peritonitis. RESULTS： There were 11 males with an average age of （59.3 ± 3.95） years. Nine had a perforated viscus, five had anastomotic leaks, three had iatrogenic bowel injury, and a further three had severe pelvic inflammatory disease. TNP and the VAC Abdominal Dressing System were initially used. These were changed every two to three days. Abdominal closure was achieved in 15/20 patients within 4.53 ± 1.64 d. One patient required relaparotomy due to residual sepsis. Two patients with severe faecal peritonitis due to perforated diverticular disease received primary anastomosis at second look laparotomy, as sepsis and their general condition improved. In the remaining 5/20 cases, the abdomen was lee open due to bowel oedema and or abdominal wall oedema. Dressing was switched to TNP and VAC GranuFoam . Three of the five patients returned a few months later for abdominal wall reconstruction and restoration of intestinal continuity. Two patients developed intestinal fistulae. All 20 patients survived.CONCLUSION： The use of TNP is safe. Further studies are needed to assess its value in managing these difficult cases.

Objective:To examine the effect of upright and ambulant positions versus lying down during the active first stage of labor on birth outcomes for nulliparous ***:This is a randomized controlled clinical trial conducted at the delivery department of Damanhour Educational Institute,El Behira Governorate,*** study sample involved 150 parturient women equally divided into intervention and control groups using randomization block *** researchers used four tools for data collection:Demographic data interview schedule,World Health Organization Partograph,Apgar’s score,to evaluate neonatal outcomes,and visual analogue pain intensity *** the study group,the parturient women were encouraged to assume one of the upright positions or ambulating around the bed so as to maintain the pelvis in vertical plane as far as possible for 20-25 min for every 1 *** control group received routine hospital care,which includes lying down in *** SPSS 23.0 was used to analyze the ***:Significant differences(P0.05)were observed between both groups in term of emergency cesarean birth rates,oxytocin use,and neonatal ***:This study proves that upright and ambulant positions significantly enhance uterine contractility,cervical dilatation,and fetal head descent and reduce the first stage duration.
