The Role of Electrocardiogram DETERMINE Score in Prediction of Coronary Artery Disease Severity

Back.round: A major cause of mortality and disability on a global scale is myocardial infarction (MI). These days, the most reliable way to detect and measure MI is via cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging (CMR). Aims and Objectives: To evaluate the effectiveness of the Electrocardiogram DETERMINE Score in predicting the severity of coronary artery disease (CAD) in patients who have experienced an Acute Myocardial Infarction (AMI) & to assess improvements in left ventricular function at 6 months following coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG). Subjects and Methods: This Observational cohort study was done at the Cardiology and Radiology department and cardiac surgery department, Al-Azhar university hospitals and Helwan University hospital. The study involved 700 cases who patients diagnosed with Acute Myocardial Infarction and fulfilled specific criteria for selection. Result: There was highly statistically significant relation between Myocardial infarction size and ECG Mark.r Score as mean infarct size elevated When the number of ECG mark.rs increased. There was a highly statistically significant relation between myocardial infarct segments, myocardial infarction size and improvement of cardiac function 6 months post-CABG. Conclusion: The study found that larger myocardial infarctions corresponded with higher DETERMINE Scores. It concluded that an ECG-based score better estimates infarct size than LVEF alone. Additionally, there was a significant statistical correlation between the size and segmentation of myocardial infarction and better cardiac function six months after CABG.

Objective: The great saphenous vein (GSV) is commonly used as a conduit for grafting during CABG surgery, and open GSV harvesting (OVH), commonly used with long incision to expose the vein. However, endoscopic vein harvesting (EVH) is an alternative approach, utilizing specialized instruments and small incisions to harvest the vein. Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on a cohort of patients who underwent Coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) requiring great saphenous vein (GSV) harvesting which was done by EVH or OVH procedures. Demographic variables, including age and gender, were assessed for both groups. Intraoperative variables such as the number of grafts, cardiopulmonary bypass time, X clamp time, and type of procedure were analyzed. Postoperative variables, including infection and bleeding rates, were also evaluated. Results: The study included 30 patients each undergoing Coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) with need of great saphenous vein harvesting which was done by EVH and OVH. Demographic variables were well-matched between the two groups in terms of age, while a significant difference in gender distribution was observed. Obesity and smok.ng were more prevalent in the OVH group, and EVH was associated with a higher mean number of grafts compared to OVH. Conversion to an open technique occurred in a portion of the EVH cases, and infection rates did not significantly differ between the EVH and OVH groups. However, the incidence of postoperative bleeding was significantly higher in the EVH group. Conclusion: This study provides valuable insights into the demographic, intraoperative, and postoperative variables associated with EVH and OVH techniques. EVH demonstrated advantages in terms of reduced infection rates compared to OVH. However, the higher incidence of postoperative bleeding associated with EVH raises concerns about potential risk..

In the present paper, the two-dimensional quantum Zak.arov-k.znetsov(QZk. equation, three-dimensional quantum Zak.arov-k.znetsov equation and the three-dimensional modified quantum Zak.arov-k.znetsov equation are analytically investigated for exact solutions using the modified extended tanh-expansion based method. A variety of new and important soliton solutions are obtained including the dark.soliton solution, singular soliton solution, combined dark.singular soliton solution and many other trigonometric function solutions. The used method is implemented on the Mathematica software for the computations as well as the graphical illustrations.

Synthesis of some new fused coumarin derivatives

2-Hydrazino-4-hydroxy-5H-[1]-benzopyrano-[4,3-d]-pyrimidin-5-one (3) was prepared via condensation of 2 with hydrazine hydrate. Treatment of 3 with methylene chloride, ethyl chloroformate, ethyl chloroacetate and benzaldehyde yielded the corresponding 2 - ( substituted ) hydrazino - 4 -hydro-xy-5H-[1]-benzopyrano-[4,3-d]-pyrimidin-5-one (4, 5, 6, and 10), followed by cyclization of 4, 5 and 6 with dimethyl formamide and fused sodium acetate under reflux, while compound 10 was cyclized with bromine and sodium acetate in acetic acid. Compound 3 reacted with β-(toloyl) acrylic acid, ethyl α-cyano-p-methoxycinnamate, diethyl malonate and acetyl chloride affording the corresponding 2-(substituted) hydrazino-4-hydroxy-5H-[1]-benzopyrano-[4,3-d]-pyrimidin-5-one (12, 13, 14, 15 and 16).

Effects of Eu3＋ and Dy3＋ doping or co-doping on optical and structural properties of BaB2Si2O8 phosphor for white LED applications

A series of Eu3＋ and Dy3＋ doped/co-doped as well as un-doped BaB2Si2Os phosphors were synthesized via solid state reaction method. The PL result showed typical blue and green emission from Dy3＋ and red emission from Eu3＋. The f-f transitions in- volving the lanthanide ions along with dopant site occupancy were discussed thoroughly. Phonon assisted energy transfer process was observed from Eu3＋ to Dy3＋, which enhanced the emissions of Dy3＋. Combinations of the emissions from Eu3＋ and Dy3＋ showed a possible white to red tuneable emission on the CIE diagram. The white warmth emissions of the phosphor were revealed to be ad- justable through designing the dopant concentration and excitation wavelengths. An unusual energy transfer that originated from Eu3＋ to Dy3＋ was also discovered and the energy transfer mechanism was discussed. Proposed energy transfer mechanism was investigated using luminescence decay lifetime. All the phosphor exhibited efficient excitation in the UV range which matched well with the emissions from GaN-based LED chips. This presented the BaB2Si208 phosphor as a promising candidate for white LED applications. The effects of doping on the structural properties and the optical band gap of BaB2Si208 phosphor were also discussed in this study.

Ti–51at%Ni shape memory alloys(SMAs) were successfully produced via a powder metallurgy and microwave sintering *** influence of sintering parameters on porosity reduction,microstructure,phase transformation temperatures,and mechanical properties were investigated by optical microscopy,field-emission scanning electron microscopy(FE-SEM),X-ray diffraction(XRD),differential scanning calorimetry(DSC),compression tests,and microhardness *** the microwave temperature and holding time was found to strongly affect the density of porosity,presence of precipitates,transformation temperatures,and mechanical *** lowest density and smallest pore size were observed in the Ti–51at%Ni samples sintered at 900°C for 5 min or at 900°C for 30 *** predominant martensite phases of β2 and β19′ were observed in the microstructure of Ti–51at%Ni,and their existence varied in accordance with the sintering temperature and the holding *** the DSC thermograms,multi-transformation peak. were observed during heating,whereas a single peak.was observed during cooling;these peak. correspond to the presence of the β2,R,and β19′ *** maximum strength and strain among the Ti–51at%Ni SMAs were 1376 MPa and 29%,respectively,for the sample sintered at 900°C for 30 min because of this sample's minimal porosity.

Tin oxide thin films were deposited by direct current （DC） reactive sputtering at gas pressures of 0.015 mbar - 0.15 mbar. The crystalline structure and surface morphology of the prepared SnO2 films were introduced by X-ray diffraction （XRD） and atomic force microscopy （AFM）. These films showed preferred orientation in the （110） plane. Due to AFM micrographs, the grain size increased non-uniformly as the work.ng gas pressure increased.

In this article,laminar convective heat transfer of a confined slot impinging jet with nanofluid has been numerically investigated over Reynolds number ranges of *** circular ribs are mounted on the lower-target surface:one rib located right the stagnation point and another one located on the left of the stagnation ***2-water nanofluid with nanoparticles volume fraction ranging from 0 to 4%and nanoparticles diameters of 30 nm has been *** two-dimensional governing continuity,momentum and energy equations have been solved using finite volume method based on SIMPLE *** effect of Reynolds number,nanoparticles volume fraction,rib height and rib location on the flow and thermal characteristics are presented and *** showed that the average Nusselt number,performance factor,total entropy generation as well as friction factor increase with increasing nanoparticles volume *** addition,it is found that the best thermal-hydraulic performance factor is around 1.89 which is obtained at Reynolds number of 1000,nanoparticles volume fraction of 4%,the rib height of 0.1 and the rib location of 2.

Wear Behaviour of Plasma Paste Boronized of AISI 8620 Steel with Borax and B_2O_3 Paste Mixtures

In the present study, AlSl 8620 steel was plasma paste boronized （PPB） by using paste mixtures with different borax and B2O3 percentages. The PPB process was carried out in a DC plasma system at 973, 1023 and 1073 k.for 5 h in a gas mixture with 70% H2-30% Ar under a constant pressure of 103 Pa （10 mbar）. The thick.ess of boride layers ranged from 15.9 to 53.6 tim depending on the temperature and process time. The hardness of the borides formed on the surface of the steel substrate and unborided steel substrate were 1648-1924 HV0.05 and 226 HV0.05, respectively. X-ray diffraction analysis of the boride layers on the surface of the samples were obtained for FeB and Fe2B phases. The wear tests on the steel were performed by using a ball-on-disc test device at room temperature with applied load of 10 N and with a shear velocity of 0.2 m/s. Wear test results showed that the highest value of wear rate was observed in the unborided sample while the lowest wear rate was observed in the PPB samples with 30% borax ＋ 70% B4C paste at 1073 k.for 5 h.

Synthesis and Structure-Activity Relationships of Novel Neocryptolepine Derivatives

Herein we reported the synthesis of a novel series of neocryptolepine（5-methyl-5H-indolo[2,3-b]quinoline） derivatives containing different substituents at Cll using methyl 1H-indole-3-carboxylate and N-methylaniline as starting material. The target 21 compounds were evaluated for their axltibacterial activity in vitro against gram-positive bacteria（B, subtilis and S. aureus） and gram-negative bacteria（E, coli and ***）. Almost all the tested compounds showed moderate to high activities against the four bacterial strains at the minimum inhibitory concentrations（MICs） of 1-10μg/mL. The obtained results suggest that part of the novel synthetic neocryptolepine derivatives exhibit significant antibacterial effect against all the tested organisms.
